  1. Rite-in-the-Rain log book inna freezer ziplock inna Lock 'n Lock inna ammo can. Overkill? You betcha.
  2. Hotsarihie (Helen Reef) has an optional logging requirement (a photo while underwater).
  3. Are you referring to posting an image with your first Earthcache find or including a photo with your own first Earthcache listing that you have developed?
  4. Why is this being limited to just human development and civilization? After all, the birds and the bees, and the flowers and the trees were here long before we set foot on this planet! And don't get me started on dinosaurs! Bugs were here before them and they're still here. What's that you say, the dinosaurs went extinct? So why do they still get all the press?
  5. Feel free to use this idea, and any of my other challenge caches, for your own challenge cache if you like.
  6. The Barron Canyon in Algonquin Park, IMHO, is one of the most picturesque locations that Ontario has to offer, whether you're standing atop its edge, or paddling the river that flows below. While I haven't visited it yet, I hear from friends who have, that Agawa Canyon is also a must-see. Let's not forget Quebec's Perce Rock!
  7. I can please some of the people some of the time, I can please most of the people all of the time, But how to please a pig?
  8. In amongst all of this lies a lip balm tube thrown on the ground. After numerous DNF's, the CO threw down a second container (seems they couldn't find the initial one). A number of us reached out to this new, and presumably young, CO to provide assistance but unfortunately they reacted in a very negative manner both on the cache page and in a log. Would appear that they have since left the game.
  9. Let's not forget about our alleged alarming increase in unreported crime - I kid you not! BTW, this federal minister has decided not to run again in our current federal election. I'd like to say that his decision is a crime but I'm not alarmed by it.
  10. Oct 31? Not a fixed date each year? Sounds more like BFL to me Hey, had to put something in there to get this thread started!
  11. was just looking at that, would have been nice to have one each month Besides, who says the geek doesn't have something else up its sleeve for you?
  12. Sorry, my mistake. Trick or treating has been known to be on a day other than Hallowe'en to accommodate school kids, but you're right, Hallowe'en is on October 31. Grid has been fixed.
  13. As requested, here's a thread to discuss this challenge cache. Credit for the idea behind this particular challenge goes to an unnamed cacher who shall remain nameless - for the time being.

    First GPS

I have a Triton 1500 and 2000, and as of a year ago an Oregon 550. Haven't used the Tritons since getting the Oregon. But as others have said, it really depends on your budget... and what you want to be able to do with your GPS. FYI, you can't mark caches as being found on the Tritons but you can on the Oregon. You might want to look at Magellan's new eXplorist GC models which are getting positive reviews for geocaching.
  15. One can never have too many a bone! One of my favourite locations for many a year.
  16. Woot! Woot! Southernmost Stash- Multi Been lurkin' and searchin' since the last one I managed to locate - okay so this was easy but hey, a find is a find!
  17. Something... Not that the geek is complaining.
  18. Act 277 was originally published as a 5.0/5.0 and was only changed to a 5.0/4.5 in the fall of 2010.
  19. Looks good. One thing though, the events are all listed as All-Day. Not sure if there is a way to include just the actual time of the event.
  20. Please refrain from commenting on another cacher's actions. As the OP requested, please limit your comments to what might cause you to leave geocaching.
  21. Methinks you need to push those Q-tips deeper into your ears!

    Hide Statistics

I'd just like to add that giving back to the geocaching community is not restricted to just placing caches. Introducing others to this activity, inviting someone new to go caching with you, sharing track logs, answering questions in the forums are all ways of giving back. I'd much rather see someone do this instead of throwing down a cache as useless as this one.
