  1. Hooray!!! Yumitori & I JUST found out that we can come! I'm SO excited--haven't been to a cache machine in a while--I think the YCMII was our last one.
  2. Hey, we're having a cache machine, cool!! Seriously though, our goal is to be half as hospital as those awesome Yakima folks, and if that happens, I will say it's a big success!!
  3. WOO-HOO, Jennifer & Dean! (Taking them out to dinner tonight for some BIG time celebrating ). So glad to have been a part of your 1st caching millenium, and having you guys as caching buddies has always been one of the best parts of this hobby! Hope we all have many more cache-a-thon adventures together, working on the 2nd millenium. Congrats guys, you're the best. You ought to get a medal just for putting up with us.
  4. quote: Oooo boy, Rocky Mountain Oysters...living where I do, that conjures up some really unappetizing visuals... Sorry, couldn't resist a little joke And that's exactly what should come to mind! I've tried them, though some anatomical structures were probably never meant to be eaten. Oh well, I've always functioned on the philosophy that I'll try anything twice, and more if I like it. [] I'm definitely going to have to check out that English sweet shop next time I'm in Victoria. Thanks again, Peggy
  5. I know this is someone else's parade, but I was excited about logging my 500th find yesterday. Yumitori also hit 500 about a week ago. It took about 11 months--I don't know if that's fast or slow. If we lived on the west coast, we'd probably have alot more, but we did manage to hit around 150 in the two weeks we were out there for our honeymoon. Also, congrats to you, Hazard. 1000 is a long way off, but much more attainable than it once was!
  6. Thanks so much MarinerBC, you are the best!! I'm looking forward to my first Wine Gum fix in almost a year. I'll have to come up with some Montana specialty to bring you--but I promise, no Rocky Mountain Oysters. They're about as chewy, but not nearly as flavorful as Wine Gums. --Peggy
  7. I just started checking out the forums this week, and since I'm going to be at the cache machine, I've been reading through this thread. I noticed that some cachers are coming from Canada...I hope this isn't too presumptuous, but when I saw the stuff about the Wunderbars, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to bring me some Maynards Wine Gums. I fell in love with them when I lived in England as a student, and I discovered a few years ago that they could also be obtained in Canada. Montana is woefully wine-gumless. Yumitori said that if I offered to pay in "real" money, someone would surely take pity on me. (He also seems to be under the impression that his repuation is in peril now that I'm on the forums. I don't know what he means!) Any quantity that was convenient for the bearer would be sufficient. They are kind of a strange candy. I'm not sure why I like them so much--I guess it's a nostalgia thing.
  8. Yeah, being a fellow Missoulian, the whole situation is really depressing. The only caches I've got left locally are on mountains or at least a pretty long hike. Even if you can still get to a cache, several hours out in all this smoke is pretty intolerable without a gas mask (we're at a stage 2 air alert today)! I want to get 500 caches before my one year caching anniversary in September, but I think I'm going to have to go out of area to do it, unless things change radically very soon. Oh well, at least I'm only 4 away.
