  1. I was going to try vistaprint until I saw this: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/online/vistaprint.html Beware Interesting... I have used VistaPrint 3 times, each with good results. Right Product, timely shipping and no bogus charges. You can also buy (office depot, Staples, etc) business card sheets and print them yourself on your PC. good luck! ww/lw/tw
  2. UPDATE: Well, I guess it all worked out. I just say that the Cache Owner archived it until after the construction! I assume that means they retrieved the cache also, I hope... Thanks again for the good advice!!
  3. Wow, this is great.. I really appreciate all the thought's and opinions. I do not know how active the owner is...how can you tell that?? My thinking was, if we kept it, others may be looking for it and never find it... I guess a note post would have tasken care of that... hummm.... Well, there is quite a bit to learn. Thanks again for the input. I will keep these things in mind for the next situation we encounter.
  4. This is the cache reference: GC7A01 My wife did a cache yesterday, and the park was under construction. She had to cross a baricade/fence that was posted, and crawly under a tarp in a pit to find the cache. It likey "fell" into it during the construction. She TOOK the cache and emailed the owner... Although we are new, I have read enough to understand that that was wrong to do, so we returned it today, sent the owner an email, and logged a SBA. Just wanted to get feedback since this is the first SBA for us. Was it right to return the cache? It is themed for "little People" and we would hate for a child to get hurt in the construction zone. Thanks in advance, ww/lw/tw
  5. As a Newbie, I would welcome an email.... Thanks!
  6. Fair enough. (See, this is exactly why the use of SBA should be preceded by a conversation with the cache owner ) Ahhh... That is understandable... Thanks for the tip.
  7. Ok, cutout cardboard.... Sorry, I guess I would need to be a scaper to understand... Are they like a stencil that you can use over and over? Ahh, nevermind... some things in life should ALWAYS be a mystery...
  8. For what it's worth, me being new and all... My first though is a finder should not alter a hide, except for "repairs", like a fresh ziplock bag, wiping up water. But then, if a cache was opened and "Screamed" would that be a muggles problem?? I guess it depends on how far "in the sticks" the cache is. I would hate to open a cache and have it alert everyone in the area!! my .02 worth...
  9. OK, color me stupid, but is that a STAMP?? A Sticker?? Ghezzze I need to get out more...
  10. Some PAYPAL accounts do electronic transfers, and those accouts are done right away. Some others (Sigh, like mine) do e-checks and that takse 3-6 DAYS!! It's paypal, NOT GC holding it up. I paid on Saturday and my account was not ready to accept my S-### until Thursday. Good Luck!! ww\lw\tw
  11. Well it looks like this died a quick and painfull death. Not sure how to "Close" it, don't see that option anywhere.
  12. Gosh I hope you're joking.... Yes, experience matters quite a bit, but that was my FIRST premise... enjoy! ww/lw/tw EDIT: Hey Blue, If you send me a coin I will cache it- I don't see OREGON on your map email: ww@REMOVEdigorig.com
  13. Yeh, I guess that was over the top...my apologies to Idaho_Clovisman... certainly everyone is entitled to their opinion. And I am sure your right, some people have more aptitude for things than others. Well, I plan on waiting, reading and learning... Maybe those of you with more aptitude can give me some advice? We can all learn things... Thanks, and enjoy! ww/lw/tw
  14. WOW, This is way cool!! Thanks for sharing it!!! ww/LW/TW
  15. Don't worry about "starting" anything. I don't do flame wars. I know how to use the ignore feature. If your got bored after reading, then perhaps this hobby is not for you. And if we use your example of EXPERIENCE from doing, then we have a big problem. Unless of course you want me to LEARN how to perform surgey on you by doing, and not any boring reading...
  16. Hi there...I am a newbie to GC, and hopefully so are YOU if your reading this. I am not new to Forums and wanted to post some (hopefully) helpful advice, so here goes: <start helpful advice> 1. READ before you post. GC has lots of parts to it, and it's tempting to just ask any or every question you think of. And it seems THIS forum has a LOT of very nice and helpful folks (thanks!). But good forum etiquette says to do some reading first. I find many questions asked here are well answered by just reading the GC website or other user's posts. Start you caching experience by HUNTING your answer it's good practice. 2. From what I have gleaned, many Newbie’s (LIKE ME) want to jump in and HIDE a cache. DON'T. With my few finds, and after reading (see point 1) a lot, it seems that newbie’s who place a cache with too little experience are not well appreciated. Let's get our feet wet first, see what others have done. A more experienced GC'er told me to get about 100 finds first, and that seems like good advice. 3. Try and go to an EVENT cache and meet other's who GC. Seems like a great way to learn, and many, many of the experienced folks are willing to teach. Overall, HAVE FUN, and don't make it too serious! </end helpful advice> Anyway this is my .02c as a newbie.... enjoy! ww/lw/tw
  17. Hello again, Hope this is the right forum. We are thinking about a trip to estacada to find the Original May 2000 cache! Anyone want to join us or have comments or advice? Can someone post its name or a linky to it? Thanks! (again) ww/lw/tw
  18. Greetings, We are addicted newbies to GC, and I have read much of the site. I have seen some INDIRECT reference to Urban caching...but nothing really addressing it. So, is it OK? Is there a special name for it? Or web page/Site? Are there special rules? Any info or comments would be welcome!! Thanks, ww/lw/tw
