  1. Looks pretty nice, but could you also capitalize my name to OwlCacher? It's how I usually write it and it'll look better on the coin that way
  2. Well I've been checking frequently and it looks like it's still a mystery. I second the idea of making all four of us winners. Or if 3 coins is the maximum, maybe a random number generator?
  3. Eh, so close... I'm gonna enjoy reading these!
  4. A programmer sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night and feels thirsty. Soon, he thinks of a solution. He will leave 2 glasses next to his bed. One full of water, in case he wakes up, and he is thirsty, and one empty glass, in case he wakes up, and he is not thirsty.
  5. A kindergarten teacher asks Dan, a programmer's son: - Pinoccio was given 3 apples. He ate two. How many apples does he have? Dan answers: - Did you initialize Pinoccio.apple_count_ to zero?
  6. In a world without walls and fences, who needs Windows and Gates?
  7. Haikus continued I'm sorry, there's -- um -- insufficient -- what's-it-called? The term eludes me ... * * * Printer not ready. Could be a fatal error. Have a pen handy? * * * Wind catches lily scatt'ring petals to the wind: segmentation fault. * * * The Tao that is seen is not the true Tao, until you bring fresh toner. * * * To have no errors Would be life without meaning No struggle, no joy. * * * No keyboard present. Hit F1 to continue. Zen engineering?
  8. Error message haikus * Windows error messages in haiku A file that big? It might be very useful. But now it is gone. * * * The web sit you seek cannot be located, but endless others exist. * * * ABORTED effort: Close all that you have worked on. You ask way too much. * * * Windows NT crashed. The Blue Screen of Death. No one hears your screams. * * * Stay the patient course. Of little worth is your ire. The network is down. * * * Three things are certain: Death, taxes, and lost data. Guess which has occurred.
  9. Reasons kids don't do homework: I accidentally divided by zero and my computer burst into flames. You didn't initialize the essay length, so I defaulted it to zero. My homework made itself read-only, and I didn't have root access. My mother redefined my doTheHomework() method with { doTheDishes(); }. I outsourced it to China , but they were sleeping. I accidentally invoked my do() method on the laundry instead of my homework.
  10. Your mouse has moved. Windows NT must be restarted for the change to take effect. Reboot now ? [OK]
  11. I'm pretty sure E&C was right, but I'm adding this post here in case the consensus is to give it to the three people after that post . Aww didn't make it...

    FTF

Premium members can get an email notification of publishing pretty much right when it happens. If you do not want to pay, all you can do is constantly keep checking the cache pages closest to your home, looking for the "new" sign.
  13. There is no reason to wait unless the owner specifically instructs you to (which I've never seen happen.) FTL is by some considered as much of an honor as FTF, but what many people care about is that there was a find to start with, so they're not rushing to get FTF when there have been two finds already. Not to mention, later you might forget.
  14. We have about 31 or more now. We will try to get them done by woodstock.
  15. Well I like owls, I like owl coins, so I'm interested!
  16. Well to really tell I need the series name (etrex, nuvi, etc. Looking through the search results for "Garmin 250" I can't seem to locate one that will work for caching. If its meant for a car it will kind of work, but only for the "driveup" caches.
