  3. Congratulations to the bandits! This is a great looking coin!
  4. Over the summer I did a lot of work with ferrets at my local zoo, so I've taken a great liking to them. Will be interesting to see how this comes out.
  5. I recall that on the earth turtle challenge page he entered the location "100 acre woods". Could this be a potential topic of the coin? Guess we'll have to wait and see...
  6. Will try to get one- although school might pose a bit of a problem...
  7. I don't deserve to win because if there was no "free" coin involved, I wouldn't be posting.
  8. Had my first job this summer: I was a marketing intern. I also had a job at my local zoo, where I got to interact with the public and tell them about the animals (many of which I was trained at handling). Didn't get a chance to do much caching at all, only found about 10 caches overall. I did, however, welcome a few new geocoins into my collection. Went to the movies a couple times as well, my favorite this summer was "The Fall" , check it out when its released on DVD in a few weeks. Back to school tomorrow (10th grade). Getting ready to take the SAT and my first AP (computer science) this year..
  9. Yes to tomorrow. Can be used for many things, simplest of which is to hold up a calendar.
  10. A free alternative to buying another GPSr is to get Google Earth and print out maps. This method works best for urban caches. After a few months though, I'd suggest getting a handheld GPSr.
  11. A famous art collector is walking through the city when he notices a mangy cat lapping milk from a saucer in the store. He does a double-take. He knows that the saucer is extremely old and very valuable so he casually walks into the store and offers to buy the cat for two dollars. The storeowner replies, "I'm sorry, but the cat isn't for sale." The collector says, "Please, I need a hungry cat around the house to catch mice. I'll pay you twenty dollars for that cat." The owner says "Sold" and hands over the cat. The collector continues, "Hey, for the twenty bucks I wonder if you could throw in that old saucer. The cat's used to it and it'll save me from having to get a new dish." The owner says, "Sorry, buddy, but that's my lucky saucer. So far this week I've sold thirty-eight cats."
  12. A martian makes an emergency landing in Brooklyn and finds that a key part of his saucer has been damaged- the all-important toover. He goes into a deli and asks the counter man if he knows where he can find a troover. The man asks "What's it look like?" The Martian says, "It's round, kind of hard on the outside, soft on the inside, with a little hole in the middle." The deli man says, "That sounds like a bagel. Here, does this look like what you need?" The martian says, "It's perfect! What do you use those for here?" The deli man says, "Well you'll probably find this hard to believe, but we eat them." The martian says," You're kidding! You eat troovers?" The deli guy says, "Yeah, here try one." The martian is pretty skeptical but he takes a bite. "Hey," he says, "with a little cream cheese this wouldn't be half bad."
  13. One of these reminded me of a book I once read. Here's one about dogs you might enjoy from there: A man goes into a bar with his dog and asks for a drink. The bartender says, "you can't bring that dog in here!" The man without missing a beat, says, "this is my seeing-eye dog." "Oh, I'm sorry man," says the bartender. "Here, the first one's on me." The man takes his drink and goes to a table near the door. Another guy walks into a bar with a dog. The first guy stops him and says, "You can't bring that dog in here unless you tell him its a seeing-eye dog." The second man graciously thanks him, continues to the bar, and asks for a drink. The bartender says, "Hey, you can't bring the dog in here!" The man replies, "This is my seeing-eye dog." The bartender says, "No, I don't think so. They don't use chiahuahuas as seeing-eye dogs." The man pauses for half a second and replies, "What?!!?!? They gave me a chiahuahua?!?!"
  14. Normally I would just activate them as soon as I get them. This saves me the trouble of rushing to activate it if I am about to go to a cache and forget about it. In fact, I don't think there is any advantage to not activating your trackables, unless you plan to trade or sell them, because unactivated coins are more valuable. And yes, another cacher could activate them before you if you never retrieved the activation code, because they are usually not difficult to find. They would likely think that you placed it there for them to take and activate.
  15. I'm 14 and will be 15 in a week. I cache by myself as often as I can, but I still need my parents for transportation/reaching up for high caches.
  16. Agent-in-Training OC is not stationed in Europe, but accepted the mission anyway. Of couse, with his vast knowledge of languages, he may as well be. My mission as an undercover agent started on a bus ride to downtown San Francisco. Upon arriving to Union Square, I knew I had to try and blend in. Then, when I least suspected it, my old colleague L. E. Nin of the KGB, unaware of my "early retirement" showed up and took all of the power from my camera's batteries, accusing me of being a double agent. Like a good agent, I made use of what I had (my cellphone) to continue the mission. When I least expected it, ex-Comrade Nin returned and deleted the first photo I took. Afraid of losing any more, I snapped one more, and quickly continued on my way.
  17. you could try to glue first, then let it dry, and then cut out the middle. Or, you could get a premade one, which would probably be the easiest. You may want to wait for advice from someone who had actually done this before you try any of those though.
  18. Maybe this one is for you too, it´s spinning also this is awesome! what coin is this, i love space stuff. lara This coin is called the Eureka Geocoin, I like it very much myself.
  19. The cacher Marky runs a sig item tracking website www.sigitem.com , if you email him he should be able to get you a spot on it. For sig items you can use consecutive numbering instead of the multiple character codes.
