  1. Had thoughts of attempting Under the Board Walk - but there was a bit of a do going on, on the river. I'm claiming that I was muggled by the Duke of Edinburgh as he looked over the side of the boat. 'Oi, bu&&er orf!', I thought I heard him say..... The heavens had opened and most of the crowds had left. But these guys - soaked to the skin - were still waving their flags.
  2. Ali chose HH's William Henry Street, but as I have the deciding vote.......Hawkins2 is the winner.
  3. It's the most pointless place in London to play knock-down-ginger.
  4. It doesn't work from Flickr. Assuming you've already uploaded the photo to your log and also assuming you have Firefox - try the following; Right click on the image in your gallery that you want to post here and click 'copy image location' Use this url to post the picture by clicking the insert image icon above
  5. April competition is here. The taking part is more important than the winning. The more people that enter the better. The rules are the same as those used in previous months. 1) The photo must be cache related and to do with a specific UK cache (any type including events), caching series or caching trip - please include a link to the cache or the GC.... code so we can see where the picture relates to. 2) Max two photos per caching team or cacher. (Maybe 3 if you really have an extra pic that's great!) 3) A new thread is started each month, with the OP stating these rules. 4) The winner each month is decided by the winner from the previous month - the new winner starting the thread for the subsequent month. They may set a theme if they wish. 5) Photos should be recent. Higher credit will be given to photos taken in the current month. 6) The competition runs from the 1st of the month, until a date specified in the OP by the previous months winner. This should give sufficient time for the winner (or other person if necessary) to start the new thread. If you haven't already uploaded a photo, a good tip might be to upload it to one of your log entries (it can just be 'post a note'). Then, view your log (not the cache page) click & display the photo, then copy the URL to provide a link. If it's not actually relevant to the cache you've used, delete the note and the photo - the URL will still work. On this forum, add a reply and click the small green tree icon above the text box and paste in your URL. Get snapping!
  6. Woohoo! :) Thanks markandlynn. (Maybe now Ali will let me jack in my current job to be a wildlife photographer. All I need to do is acquire the skill, knowledge, equipment and quickly send another e-mail to nobby.nobbs to ask yet another photography question......)
  7. Probably not what you were after, but I think the (often overlooked) wildlife in this country is/are the real hidden treasure; Taken after an aborted attempt at Scotland's First. This blue tit took a dislike to what he saw in the mirror. An hour or so earlier we thought there was going to be a blizzard but then the sun came out with this chap.
  8. If you can find me the 'In the hands of a thief' button I'll gladly change it! PS and I still can't decide.......
  9. I had my 2005 Scott Genius MC50 travel bug stolen in a burglary a couple of weeks back. Our insurance company have offered one of the following as a replacement; 2011 Specialised Stumpjumper FSR Comp Boardman FS PRO Scott Spark 70 Giant Anthem X3 I'm finding it really difficult to decide which bike err, I mean travel bug to choose. I know there are quite a few mountain bike travel bug enthusiasts here so would be interested in your views. NB - moderators, I've consulted with my lawyers and they've stated that I am wasted in my current job and should work for something to do with cunning loopholes. & PS - if anyone finds this travel bug in a cache, I'd be more than interested as apparently I thought more of this bike than Ali......
  10. So what you're saying is, while out Geocaching you also enjoy defacing and vandalizing public property. Yeah, that's the image of Geocaching we want to put out there... Ssshhhh. Don't tell anyone else as it will probably spoil the joke for others, but you'll probably find the Dr wasn't actually being serious.
  11. This thread seems to have wandering off topic once again, Please keep it on topic, or - you could use the wonderful "Off Topic forum" Sorry. Was sure I'd read Dogs + Squirrels + caching is fine.
  12. Never really had a problem with dogs. It's Squirrels I don't trust. I know they usually hibernate at this time of year, but I've no idea how this one can afford this house.
  13. Mine's always carried in hand luggage. Signals are usually pretty good as well. If you fly over any caches, they won't let you get off to find them. That's the only problem.
  14. We gave some of ours away, but we still have a few. The MkI must be worth a bit, so I'd say auction them for your favourite charity.
  15. Are they the ones with a cat in -or should that be Hamster?- that may, or may not be dead? I've read it again - he definitely had a cat. All I can say though is that if he was so clever, why did he give his cat a flask instead of a bowl????
  16. Just googled Schrodinger. I got the bit about him having a pet cat that mucked about with radiation, but then it got confusing........
  17. Bit disappointed that it doesn't have a cover and title page......
  18. Just used it for the first time. Thanks for the heads up!
  19. Hehe, I like your style We've compromised after 15 months of negotiations. Ali still says no to Russia, but if we're not at war with North Korea in a few weeks - China will be red. Or rather greeny-grey.
  20. Well and truly moved... Any trace of this yet? The script would be handy....
  21. Godwins law, we have reached unity
