  1. From what I heard on several different geocaching podcasts, this is how it works. I thin garmin may be working on a firmware update to address.

  12. The etrex should have come with the Garmin Mapsource software. You would use mapsource to load the maps to your GPSr
  13. There are many factors in the local environment that effect the accuracy and response of you GPSr. Part of the game is adapting to the errors in the GPS technology. I think you are doing fine in your search. I use the hints all the time.

  16. The datum is only important if you are using your GPSr with a paper topo map
  17. Tough question to answer since I do not know the manufacturer of your GPSr The manual should be on the website of the GPSr manufacturer. Happy hunting

  19. Because you are a premium member you can run a finds pocket query. From the main geocaching.com page, click on 'My Account; then click on 'pocket queries' then click on the button to run the finds query. This will be e-mailed to you. You can then upload to a site called Its not ablut the Numbers I beleive this created HTML code which can be copied into your profile. I use GSAK, it has a optional macro to create a stats page. I take the HTML and copy it into my profile. Enjoy
  20. I'm wondering if the cache was archived? Were there any signature on a log sheet?

  23. From the resources link in geocaching.com resources I use GSAK, a very good database program with upload to GPS capabilities
  24. Go to this website: Statbar modifier and follow the instructions. I prefer facebook. I have had no 'spam' from bogus friend requests.
  25. It looks like the Garmn colorado will handle your wish list. I'm saving my pennies to upgrade at a future date.
