Not stupid, but I would get more experience before placing your first cache. Placing is a lot harder then it looks.

This is a browser issue. the symptom you describe happens in MS internet explorer, but not in firefox.

This will be one feature of cachemate that you will not be able to use.

As Indiana Jones once said, "Snakes, I hate Snakes!". I would run and move to the next cache. -

Poll: Do you use a GPS for geocaching?

99% of the time, my GPSr gets me there. The other 1% is a 1/1 rated cache in the middle of a parking lot that I can see in google maps. -
I bow before you!!

...and I just do a 'happy dance' when I reach a milestone.

I have used Geocaching to supplement the drudgery of the five mile hike. You cannot replace the GPS for map and compass on advancement requirements. I have my Scouts compute bearing and distance to get us close to the cache, then have used the GPS to get us to the final. I also have started a Venturing Crew with a geocaching specialty.

With the 60csx running at $230 at Amazon and a Colorado 300 running at $500, I do not yet see a compelling reason to buy the Colorado. Garmin has addressed may of the 'bugs' , but I think still has a way to go. Im adverse to buying version 1.0 of anything as I do not wish to be the consumer level beta tester. I have a 60cx and it does everything I want it to go for geocaching.
-
IF what you have is working well.... why buy?
-
With the introduction of the Colorado, other Garmin GPSr have been dropping. I have a GPSmap 60cx. I paid $350 at Amazon 18 months ago. The same GPSr is now $203!! I'm very happy with my GPSr. The Colorado looks 'sexy', but is not worth the money for me to upgrade.

I wouuld recommend the book 'OPEN YOUR HEART WITH GEOCACHING' as to why the cache was placed where it was.
-
On a open database selct list/edit filters. Then select the Info tab. That is where you can select cache type and container size and difficulty.

Sharing the FTF makes for good karma with your friends

As long as you are not directly promoting the business, it is OK Some examples in Colorado -4 series (7-11) See Spot series (Target) On every corner series and Project Wal series (Walgreens) Denver Bookworm series (Public Libraries in Denver) Star series (Starbucks) Homer series (Home Depot)
-
Looks like we are now getting closer to making the Colorado worth purchasing.
-
They are not in the same place. The cache description should lead you there.

Would you find this type of hide appropriate?
