  2. Hey Greedfeed, you new to geocaching or just the area? I am in Silver springs as well. Any way I will list a couple of caches that have a few other caches around them. Also there is the Maryland Geocaching Society Summer Picnic 2011 tomorrow, http://coord.info/GC2PXX8. http://coord.info/GC15MJF,http://coord.info/GCYFGV, http://coord.info/GCA590. Last but not least there is a series by GVT1985 called the Alphabet series http://coord.info/GC1KG1B. Most of the series has about 4-5 caches in each park.

    Hi,

A few weeks ago I found and logged a cache. Today I found that there is geocoin in it. I am planning a trip in a few weeks that will help it along. Is it ok to take this coin? Is that proper etiquette?

    Thanks!

  4. So I have the worst luck with TBs, they go missing from the first cache, people hold them for 10 months, now one ends up in this cache!

    GC14D16 Deep in the Heart

Short version, the cache was placed in 2007

A year later it disappears so someone throws a piece of paper on the ground, logs the find, and posts a NM.

A month, and 4 cachers, later someone sees the piece of paper and puts it in a plastic sleeve they found in their car.

A month after, still 2008, that plastic sleeve is gone, and the log soaked so someone puts a new log in a plastic bag.

A ton of "Great Hide" logs.

A year later, 2009, CO stops checking GC.com

    Ton more "Geat hide" logs.

Another year later, mid 2010, a second logger posts a NM mentioning it is just a ziplock baggie that won't last.

7 Months, and 1 reported lost TB later this cache that won't die gets a visitor, my TB.

    WHY DO I EVEN TRY!!!

Its about 10 miles for me, I will try and swing by tomorrow and have a look
  5. Does anybody know of a geocaching store in PA? Doesn't matter where in the state. There used to be an official one by Pittsburgh but they seem to have closed the physical store. I'm just curious to go look for official containers, trackables, what-not.

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve

    Have you tried REI?

  6. I am trying to add my Aunt who also geocaches but everytime I add her it says "This person is not accepting friends". Neither of us know how to change this setting.

Your profile-your account details and then down at the bottom there is a box with Your Preferences. There probable is a easier way, but that should work

  7. what about using a coin bezel holder? you could then encase the coins in a clear resin with just the ring sticking out

I don't know what a coin bezel holder is. I went to a coin shop today and saw what i was told were "Coin Slabs". I think I am going to use those. Below is a picture of what I am talking about.

  8. Its not a distance issue is it? not sure about your gps but depending on how I have mine set up it only shows close caches( and looking at those two caches looks like there far away from each other). Can you search by name?
