  1. A photo posted by PAwingers, friends of mine from St.Mary's PA. The cache was Tucked in by the Water which is a spooky cemetery... at least if it's done at night. I also found it at night, alone, but I didn't see those eyes. Phew!
  2. Not only did he get permission but the Chief of Police is also his neighbor. Of course the news stories don't mention anything about permission being granted for the placement. Appears that the word about the cache didn't get passed on to all the officers.
  3. The hider of this cache is a friend of mine and he did everything proper before he placed it next to the Police Station. He got permission from the Township manager and the Chief of Police. Evidently this info did not get passed on to all channels. I was the co-first finder with Facedances and before looking for it we went inside and asked the officer on duty if it'd be okay to search for it. He knew about it and said thanks for asking and to go right ahead. Looks like not all were informed though. Definitely not any fault on the hiders part here. One big bummer here is that this cache was the end of a huge series of caches. You had to find around 18 other caches to get the coords for this one. There's only been 3 finders so far and it looks like the 3rd finder was seen at the cache by some muggle. It shouldn't have mattered though if the word was passed on properly to all concerned out there.
  4. Looking for a cacher from Lublin, Poland to complete the locationless cache, Sisters You just need to take a picture of Lublins town sign with you & your GPS and email it to me. I do the same with Erie, Pa. here in USA. Anyone?
  5. Had to return the favor and congratulate Facedances on his 100th First To Find. I was with him when he reached this milestone at Bubble, Bubble, Toil & Trouble which requires you to find 18 other caches to get the coords to this final cache of the series. We ended up finding it at around 1:30 in the morning. I wouldn't think that there's many other cachers that have found 100 FTF's. Way to go Facedances!!!
  6. Thanks Facedances, Junglehair, Stayfloopy, and the rest of you fellow geocachers. My goal is to reach 2000 before the end of the year and that should be easy now. See ya on the caching trails.
  7. What a trooper though! As Lep was rolling on the ground and smacking his hand in pain, he still yelled to his partners to find that dadgum cache!

All I want to add is that at least when Lep caches with Carleen, he's not on the cell phone with her while his partners find the caches.
  9. Hey, that was me! I had reached that little sucker a few weeks earlier with a golf ball retriever but this time I just helped out Lep, CCCA, & SBux by walking around and up the wall. I gotta admit that it was fun sliding down the pole like a fireman.
  10. I've camped out quite a few times this summer. It saves a lot of money and allows for more caching time. I close up shop Saturday afternoon and drive to my destination. On the way I try to grab a few caches. Then I setup camp and get up early Sunday and cache the entire day. Then I camp out again Sunday night and cache Monday until I feel like heading back home. Tuesday morning I re-open my shop and wait until the next weekend. Had fun doing this throughout the summer and managed to find a ton of caches.
  11. Guess I better add myself since Cap already did... NWPA, Erie
  12. Congrats to Facedances & Goldsnoop from Erie, PA. on for finding their 1000th find at the same event. The recent Cloak & Dagger event in Cleveland was the fun event that marked their new milestones. Snoop also hit 100 hides recently. Leprechaun passed 1100 finds and I passed 1650 finds at the same event. Yeehaw!
  13. I just got FTF with a new cache hidden in a cemetery that's located smack dab in the middle of a golf course. There's a road that splits the course and you can park right next to the cemetery. I had to wait until a threesome of golfers played through before grabbing the cache that I had already spied. Kinda cool. Golf-mugglers! Diehard Golfer Cemetery Cache
  14. Just thought I'd add to this discussion as I came down with Lyme Disease last year. I noticed a red rash near my arm pit but it wasn't the bullseye. Never saw the tick at all. Later I began to have alot of joint pain. First in my elbow then in other areas including my jaw. It seems that the pain would stop in one area but move to another place on my body. Finally it moved to my pinky which made it difficult to do my job. I own my own screen printing business and it became real difficult to pull my squeegees to print tees. This all happened in just a couple weeks. At that point I went in to see my Doctor and told him I may have Lyme Disease and he said not likely. Guess what, I was right. He put me on anti-biotics and the very next day I felt fine. Stayed on the meds for about another month and I've been caching ever since. One weird thing is that many people feel real tired with Lyme Disease but I didn't. I just had the joint pain and seemed to have a slight fever. In fact, while I had the pain I found a 20-step cache that took me 14 hours and 10 miles of hiking over 2 days to find. Just shows that the symptoms vary widely and if you suspect any problem at all, have it checked out!
  15. Hey, I see I did that one too! How cool! I also did the oldest in PA which is fairly close to my home... State Game Lands #109 (9/21/2000)
  16. I just saw a new cache pop up around 11:30 the other night and ran out and found it at midnight. Saw another new one pop up the following morning (Easter) and ran out to grab that one too. Both within an hour of being made public. Most caches around here (Erie) go that fast or close to it.
  17. Geez Quills, what did I ever do to you to deserve this? Here I thought we had a good time finding that Coon-Hunting Cache together. Man! Even the Lep teams up with you. Arrrghhhh!!!!!
  18. Congrats Lynn! Now onto 10,000! I just hit 1000 finds down in her home area and found quite a few of her own caches. We've been emailing back & forth the last couple days and she seems to be a very nice person, along with being a truly prolific cacher. Congrats again!
  19. I love to cache for the numbers and for the experience! Not too long ago I found 72 caches with a couple buddies in one day. It was a blast as we never stopped moving. Today I found one cache that took me over 6 hours and over 8 miles of hiking. It was also alot of fun but a completely different experience. Caching is fun no matter what you do it for and I can't seem to get enough of it. If you enjoy caching a lot then the numbers just go along with it.
  20. My buddy and I found our very first cache and considering how did, it was kinda amazing. We didn't even know how to use the GO-TO function so we just wandered around in the woods until the coords kinda matched up and then looked for it. Took awhile but we found the sucker. We then got skunked on another cache right after that in the same area but it got dark and we didn't have a flashlight. Still, I got hooked that day and went back later in the week to find that second cache.
  21. I've gotta suggest my home town of Erie as there's a wide variety of caches in the area. As Lep already mentioned, there's also a large number of caches in the area too, and the number is growing every week now. I'm not sure if Erie would be near your route but It's worth a Geocache visit for sure.
  22. I have no idea how many cachers have over 1000 finds but I do know there will soon be another... I need just about 30 more caches to hit a grand myself now. I don't know of any others in my area over 1000 yet.
  23. Nothing creative here... just used the name of my business (Screen Printing)
  24. I'm with you Cap. Btw, did you ever construct that special "tool" to get that Cloud Cache yet? You can send me an private email which will bypass this CHAOSS!
  25. Oh give me a break. The only reason the names were used is that Briansnat didn't realize that Snoop was the hider that was being talked about. When Snoop jumped into the conversation here by mentioning that he was guilty of hiding micros recently, Briansnat responded by saying "Yeah, but you put out GOOD micros. There is a big difference between what you are doing and what the OP was complaining about." If you can't see the humor here in that Snoop actually WAS the one being complained about and that Briansnat was praising his caches, oh well. Btw, both Snoop and Ian are friends of mine. I'm a little surprised that Ian would vent about this but I'm not surprised at you since snoop and you have gone at it on your own Tri-Go message board already. Why some cachers have to put down caches many others enjoy but they don't like, I'll never understand. Just search for what you prefer and let us search for what we want. For me, I'll look for anything from urban micros to multi's that may take days to find.
