  1. And what's really funny is how close the 1st 2 were. Another funny thing is what Krypton told me at the CITO event. He told me that he wouldn't approve my next cache hide. I planted a cache and he did just that. Maybe he's a bit psychic because I know he was just joking. I really do need to start paying closer attention to other caches and how close I get to them. [] Anyways, that problem has been fixed. Too funny....
  2. 2 new caches planted in Manteca. "Just out of reach" & "Master of disguise III". should be approved soon and be available. Keep an eye open...
  3. An OTF? Yes, this one - Volta I found it back on June 21 2003. And it ain't all that hard to get to. Been to MANY much worse..
  4. Hey! I've had my Hyundai in more horrible spots than you can imagine. And possibly a few more than I can believe I was stupid enough to try. lol. Just wondering Bill, is perhaps this cache Bridge to Nowhere II above the snow line? Over 3 months with no FTF. Either it's snowed in or folks out there are slacking off!
  5. Nah, I do that all the time. Through PO, stickers, star thistle, blackberry bushes, brush, trees etc. Last time, Bill and I followed the arrow up the side of a steep hill when the best route was over there <----- Played Santa to myself this year, this new GPSMAP60CS is great. Guess I'll have to cache a bit longer.
  6. GSAK just came out with the new upgrade too. This is one great program and I'm glad I bought it. Only thing I remember paying 8 bucks for was Cachemate. A great PDA tool...
  7. Oh, you mean like MY t-bug placed in that one night time cache that no one ever goes to? It sits. It waits. It want's to be found at least once!! hehehe
  8. Yes, it is on it's way. And, I have it. But it will be findable by anyone with a GPSr and a keen eye. No math, no puzzles, no problem solving of any kind. I think I'll start off the FTF prize at 10 bucks and add from there. Just have to find the right spot for it now. Then I'm going to sit off in the distance with the binocs and watch and laugh at the hunt going on. Maybe this will be good payback at Fizzy for that nasty "Oak can you see" cache. That piece of work was almost as effective at getting a group together as an event cache. And, I can still remember Bill swinging from the tree limbs.
  9. Yep, I had fun too! Thanks for the nice CVC event! Nice to meet new and see some of the old. Ugh, I shouldn't say old as my BD is next week. If my cache gets approved, it will be my toughest hide to date. I usually like to do the easy for everyone types but I needed to place a difficult one. Anyways, I'll be err a well, older next week and if I could get up there......
  10. Gathering? oh boy. When? Where? Food? Oh boy.. Finally finding some time to get out and about and do a bit of caching. Made a couple big runs and finally got past that 500 mark. Still trying to think up something devious to plant here in my new hometown. Have nothing here since my Sprekels Park cache disappeared. Soon.... sooonnnn........
  11. GRRRRRRRRR.... I missed out on most all of the Latte get together due to some work that needed to be done. Then, the object of the work quit 3 days later. Perhaps he knew the end was near and we were checking one him. If the boob would have just quit a week earlier. Still, it was nice to pop in just to say hi to a few of the folks I knew and then meet a few others. I'll be back out there soon. Still trying to get all settled in here at the new homestead... BTW. For those who met me and may be wondering. My handle is based on my last name. A nickname. It's not a physical thing.
  12. Well, I no longer live in Merced. Check for me around the "hick" town of Manteca. FTFs are fun, but being an ONLY finder is neat too! I just held that claim for 1 year now. Maybe some one else can go visit it? Volta. Congrats also to M & J on their 3000th find.
  13. Ok, what's going on in here??!?? Caution, the brain is starting to whir again...
  14. I forgot. Congrats Bill! Looking at your stats, I see a total of 300! Looks like the goal was met.
  15. Garmin beanbag mount. Hmm. Only place I ever remember seeing one of those in a store , was a West Marine. Don't recall which, but there is one in Stockton I believe. And, is more of a rubber gel thing.
  16. MERRY CHRISTMAS ya'll. I'm still out and about doing the caching thing. Just don't talk much about it anymore is all. Hope all have a GREAT day! Rich
  17. I think maybe I should go through all my DNFs and change them to happy yellow smiley faces just because I got sooo close. CQ CQ CQ DX......
  18. Thrilling day! I finally got a chance to go get this cache. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=8c7e9c40-27fc-4282-9a84-4c41f5c5b6fc Only 2nd to find. Afterwards, my friends flat bottom V drive boat sheared off it's prop at 55 mph. That caused the thing to almost roll over and throughly soaked us. Full of water in the back, a huge wake from another passing boat came over the stern and completely swamped the boat. We bailed and had to be rescued by other boaters. Rescue attempts of the boat failed and about 15 minutes later, it headed to the bottom. Fortunately, I had my GPSr in my pocket and I even marked the spot. So, this ultimate cache find can be found at N 37 42.826 W 120 24.054 at a few hundred feet down. Bring a wet suit.... CQ CQ CQ DX...... 19. ARRIVED! Olivia On 8/23/03 @ 6:22am 7.2 lbs 20" Grandpappy Brute again. CQ CQ CQ DX......
  20. Wow, appears to belong to a very addicted cacher. I'd say Markys. CQ CQ CQ DX......
  21. Hmmm. Is Fizzy not coming out to ANOTHER of our get togethers? Some one should go kid nap him. CQ CQ CQ DX......
  22. Actually, I think that only 4 of my regular size caches remain that have not been found since I put out the tags. Great Scott eliminated another one a few days ago. CQ CQ CQ DX......
  23. Go for it Bill. I think you'll be wasting lots of time that could be better spent actually finding a cache. I doubt anyone could find this cache out in that area without coords. I'm down here doing some caching in the Mojave area. HOT!!! Really do need a 4x4 to get to the majority of these. Luckily, I got to borrow one for the day. How in the world did the cachepolice miss archiving this one??? Archive it!! Cache has been pulled at property owners request. I suppose to keep folks from stomping around the area. But, to then just leave the page up so that folks who don't know it's pulled (like me) and then let me go stomping around the area anyways is just dumb. Maybe I need to figure out how to read pages on the PDA while flying down the highway at 65. (no, I never speed) .Miles out of my way for nothing here... I noticed a fallen cache up the road... Perhaps... Vegas tomorrow for sure. CQ CQ CQ DX......
  24. quote:Originally posted by Green Achers:I know this is the type of reason why Geocaching is not allowing _distant_ (aka, Vacation) caches. [Why don't they call them distant caches?? I'm waiting for my next vacation so I can plant a cache real close to home but never the less will be grounds for denial.] _Bill of Green Achers_ Some asked questions are already known. Gen. 3:9 So, no more distant caches? What are the limits? 100 miles from home? 200? 500? And, will they be denied and archived even if the person can get to them and check on their condition on a regular basis? Will I be needing to send in my work schedule and route with each cache I plant? Not that it matters. Have one more to place and then that may be it for me. Just curious though... CQ CQ CQ DX......
  25. Hey Bill Have you planted any caches down around Las Vegas? I'll be headed there in a couple of weeks. Don't know if I'll have time to cache, but I'm sure going to try. I know my brother has one there. CQ CQ CQ DX......
