just started caching a few months ago!! i have a garmin legend cx.... didn't do homework first...but have had no problems. and recently bought a yellow etrex cause i am a gps hogger when i cache, so the family says.

I just bought a legend cx on ebay. the "X" just means i have an extra sd slot for expanded memory. Mine came with a 64 mg sd card. I love it!! I paid 230.00 for it. They also have a Vista cx for around 289.00 which is the same thing, but with added altimeter barometer in it. I have been geocaching with it for about 2 weeks now and it does just fine. I do recommend adding mapsource maps to it. I added city navigator to it and I can pin point geocaches just fine.
