  1. GS Card Linky That is just wrong! Jeremy do something! Free Signal Have a Happy & Safe New Year Signal!
  2. Please do not litter in our oceans. I do not like to pick balloons outta trees or think of birds making nests outta & choking on em either. Thank you!
  3. Ditto! That's how I feel also. Sometimes I just want to hike alone; I'm much more comfortable around wild beasts than the wild urban-beasts. I don't usually cache alone, but I have, and I carry pepper spray. I dont think I could ever use a gun, but would like to try it. I know I could mace someone before I could shot them. My advise is: don't watch T.V. I don't. All I see in the listings are crime shows~that'll make ya paranoid. Peace, Leslie
  4. BUMP! Thx for the tip Criminal! I signed up for their email lists, and today I received another new sale~from $19 and up. Somebody should hold a KOKOMO Event! Cause it's cold in NewEngland! "Aruba, jamaica ooo I wanna take you Bermuda, bahama come on pretty mama Key largo, montego baby why don’t we go Jamaica Off the florida keys There’s a place called kokomo That’s where you wanna go to get away from it all Bodies in the sand Tropical drink melting in your hand We’ll be falling in love To the rhythm of a steel drum band Down in kokomo"
  5. Oh My, that is just the sickest cache I've ever seen! Pretty evil! What are the logs like? ewwww
  6. GREAT IDEA!! Very Nice! Thx! This would be a highly sought trade after item But I'm afraid this one design may be outta my league. My Grandma taught me before she passed; I'd like to attempt the GC.com logo if you can design that one up? She also taught me how to crotchet, but so far I've only been able to make this one really loooong string of 3 kinds of stiches. Can you design our GC.com logo?
  7. Hey Sinbad! Your lil pirates are cuties! My 1NatureGirls are 8 & 11; they have been caching since they were 5 & 8! As time goes by, and they grow, we attempt more types of caches. And now they have & carry their own gear! YES! They've added camelbacks to their list to Santa! My oldest likes to stroll along the trails to absore all of Nature~she can identify oodles of bird calls & likes to see rock formations into cartoon characters! Without her keene nature sense, we'd miss some of the beauty of the experience. And she loves science; she has seen what she's learned about ie..vernal pools. I even took her to a cache location for a school project on Osprey Nests! lol (GCGPDH) She got an A+! She doesnt like to trade swag anymore~she's content with the hike. My youngest is the TRAILBLAZER!! She's out for the adventure & the dirt! Newts & frogs are her speciality & sometimes even a snake! I have learned to check her pockets before entering the house! There is no mountain that she does not want to conquer, no tree she can't figure out how to climb, no stream she can't cross! I have learned to not hold her back as much (it's not ez~she's only 8). But her adventureous spirit just came with a price~recently she received a very minor wrist fracture at THE KEY TO THE WELL OF SOULS (we were headed out to your cache after!) She made the rock climb like a pro, then just slipped on NOTHING! The trail was as clear as carpet! Go figure~she's fallen off her bike harder. She wasnt in pain, just mad she couldnt make the rock climb back down herself! Good thing Momma knows 1st aid. We'll be back up there to finish, watch for our logs! ......You know you're a cacher when: you sign your daughter's cast with your caching name! lol.... I did! She loved it! I know my 1NatureGirls, they are different spirits, and I know what caches they're capable of. We take our time & plan accordingly. Each comes away with their own experience & memory. At dinner, it's amazing to hear their different views as they shared the same cache/hike! Keep caching together! Never underestimate them! It's totally amazing! CAN YOU SEE THE ELEPHANT?
  8. Works great on my Motorola Razor V3! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
  9. Can we all go to Planet's for Thanksgiving?
  10. The CITO day for 2006 will be April 22! Spread the word. Check out the CITO main thread. One day, every April, we have Cache In Trash Out Event day. A clean up trash day at our parks. CITO thread Then there is GeoWoodstock 4 !!!! GeoWoodStock4
  11. Keep the ideas coming along! There is also a mirror thread of this over in "NewEngland". Together we'll IRON (I crack myself up) out the details. But you guys want to do this right?
  12. ...........IRON-GEOMAN TRIATHLON ~ at the GeoJamboree4...........?? OK, here is an idea that just came to me; inspired by my 2 friends whom just finished the real Ironman in FLA, and it's on my own Top-10-Things-To-Do-B4-I-Die-list (ok 1/2 the thon). 1. PADDLE. From launch site behind Ranger station to Jackson Cove/Paumperaug Trail. 2. BIKE. Paumperaug trail over to Zoar Overlook Trail head. 3. HIKE. Trail to Zoar Overlook. WHEN: Saturday, early Sunrise = less humidity, less wake, less muggles. Whatcha think? Is it totally crazy:wacko: or are you pumped up ?? ............................................. I received a positive response at last night Wings' Event, however, there were questions of equipment & coordinators. *We need photographers & timers at each stage (I have stop watches); also to watch over equipment (kayaks-canoes/bikes/backpacks) that is left at stages. *IronGeoMen will need to stop at each stage & sign a log *More than one person in a canoe/kayak is ok *If you don't have a mtn10bike, you can hike/run the Paumperaug *Finish line is uptop on the rock at the Zoar Overlook cache location *We could do T-shirts & Prizes (should we charge a small $) *Waivers will need to be signed Everyone & every ability is welcomed! It's not about being FIRST, it's about the FINISH!
  13. Well.....Does anyone like my idea of IRON GEO-MAN??

  16. (GCQZ72) WATERTOWN TRAIL REBLAZE Saturday, November 5th, Watertown, CT Reclaiming the trail on Land Trust Property! This trail was soo under-used, and un-inviting. BBLHED obtained permission from the Land Trust to place a cache, saw the need for an inviting trail, the Land Trust agreed with enthusiam, and his CITO event was born! For once, a happy tale of: Land Trust + Geocachers = MULCHING-MOWING-WIDE'g THE TRAIL! MARKING THE WAY! CLEARING THE BIG STUFF! NOW THIS IS BUSHWACKING! GET THEM PRICKERS OUTTA HERE! most-of-the-GROUP SHOT WITH OUR NEW HATS FROM THE LAND TRUST! notice the new information sign & stairs!
  17. Meet Kirby! The 1NatureGoldenRetriever! He's just 8 weeks old! I'm eating him up with a spoon! In the next few weeks, we'll be teaching him how to retreive caches!
  18. Hey, try LLBean!! They have the coolest lil backpacks for kids with lil critters on em in bright colors & you can monogram their name/initials too! Most of the time their on sale ~ click on their "Sale". Or search Critter Packs. They are quite reasonable. O, and tell them Leslie sent you! lol
  19. So how do I create this category? I'm not finding the Waymarking homepage very friendly.
  20. Last year my family thought I was nutz when I added geocaching to our favorite-spiritual holiday; now they are adding to it! I camo'd a gift for my husband under the tree, hung a handmade geocaching ornament to the tree, asked for gifts related to geocaching, and our family 12 month photo-calendar was all seasonal geocaching pictures! This year our 1NatureGirls are asking for: Camelbacks, their own GPSr, and snowshoes for caching! And...while they are now spending their reading time going thru toy catalogs, I hear them mumble "oh, this'd be cool for trade items; I'd wish someone would put that in a cache"!! So what's on your list or your ideas?
  21. 1NatureDad made one for my girlscout troop! It's easy & not expensive to make. A trip to Home CheepO & the local printer=$70. We "planted" ours 2 weeks after the Sept. 11th attacks. Our Peace Pole is at at local nature centre, and there are 2 caches in that park: GCN2NB & GCGE47 Peace, Leslie
  22. I've been watching this & may be able to attend! Sounds like a blast! I've also forwarded in an email to other interested cachers in Conn. Could you cross this thread over into New England? Thinking about it, Leslie
  23. Who knows...It's the site on the end w/water view, according to the current map, it's 17. According to the website as of 7/1/05, all the sites that were 'under construction' last year are now available; we shouldn't need to double up.
  24. SITE 17 FOR OUR 1NatureFamily. Friday ~ Sunday. THIS IS WHERE THE SMORES WILL BE! Come on by! We'll most likely have a newbie with us; our camp is full at this time. Someone already took site 7 Leslie & Family
