  1. A smashed up screen is perfect, assuming the rest is not little teeny bits of plastic. I need a couple parts from inside to rebuild mine. I have several refurbished PDAs and some uncirculated/unactivated geocoins I could offer in trade, or cash if you prefer. If you have a cheap/broken 60CS, contact me through my profile, please. Cheers, TheBattons

  3. Dropping shipped price to $30 (+$3 for Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada).

PDAs show some minor wear, but no screen scratches or major scuffs. As always, this is backed with my 30 day functionality guarantee. $28 shipped to ConUS, Alaska, Hawaii, and Canadian add $3 (sorry!) I accept PayPal, or Postal money orders. Feel free to ask ANY questions you may have about paperless caching- I like to help, and it saves trees! TheBattons
  7. Item received, and tested...took it a while to lock on though the satellites, it apparently thought it was somewhere else the last time it looked Now to go test it on a cache! Thanks much!

  10. For Sale- A Handspring Visor Neo w/ stylus, and USB cradle. The Visor is the VW Bug of PDAs- an old classic with TONS of mods available, and they just NEVER die! (A small bonus, the Visor has no clutch to replace!) Released in September 2001, the Neo features a MC68VZ328 DragonBall™ processor clocked at 33 MHz. It has 8 MB DRAM, an IrDA-compliant infrared interface, and Handspring's standard Springboard Expansion Slot. It also sports a built-in microphone and a 160×160-pixel, 2-bit grayscale (4 shades of gray) display. The 4.8" × 3.0" × 0.7" unit, weighing in at 5.4 ounces, comes in a Blue, Red, or Smoke colored case(this one is smoke). It used Handspring's modified version of the Palm OS, version 3.5.2H3. Power comes from two AAA batteries that will last up to two months. I've done testing, and found that 8 meg PDAs hold several thousand caches via CacheMate. Price is $27 shipped to ConUS, $30 to AK, HI or Canada. I accept paypay, or postal money orders. Item will be shipped once payment clears on my side. As with all my PDAs offered to geocachers, I offer a 30 day warranty vs any functionality issues, and offer paperless caching support in getting up and running with any PDA. I refurbish PDAs to help more cachers get involved and to save trees. If you have questions, contact me through the forums, I'll be more than happy to help in any way I can. TheBattons
  11. There is no "this is the best PDA to have" in a general sense. Everyone has different requirements, so without knowing your particular needs/wants/desires, we could only offer general answers. If you are looking for connectablility (WiFi), you are far better off going with a Pocket PC. You are in excellent hands with Scott-N8ZUS helping out....he knows PPCs very well...
  12. I don't know about "fool-proof", I grew up in West Virginia...I'm pretty sure I have some friends I grew up with that wouldn't be able to get it open....
  13. For sale, a Palm M125, w/USB hotsync/charger cradle, flip cover, and stylus $34 shipped The screen is B&W, has 8 megs of RAM, and also has a SD card slot for expandability. It runs Palm OS version 4.01, and has a pristine screen. It uses 2 "AAA" batteries. More details, as well as the software required (it's FREE) can be found here Price includes ConUS shipping (AK,HI or Canada add $4). I accept PayPal, money orders or personal checks. I ship once the payment has cleared (PayPal immediately, MO upon receipt, checks 3-14 days). PLEASE ask questions if you have them! I answer PDA and paperless caching questions for free- before and after a sale, and even if you never become a customer (it saves trees!), so don't hesitate to ask a question. I can offer references from previous buyers from this board if needed. Cheers!
  14. Do you still have the broken PDA? IF so, what is the model, as I may have parts to repair it. TheBattons
  15. Be careful buying used M500, they have a static electricity/ recharging circuit issue with some of them. I've known people with them that have never had problems, but I've also seen ones that are never "quite right". The tell-tale sign is the green charging light/ power button stays on after removing the charging cord/cable/cradle. If it does that, avoid it. They are good units though. Check my posts, I have one with some questions to ask yourself in regards to what you want from your PDA. Answer them and get back to me, every person I help results in fewer trees wasted. Cheers!
  16. For cables to hook stand-alone PDAs and GPSs, try http://pc-mobile.net/home2.htm I bought one here to use between my Axim and my 60CS.
  17. The manual The drivers You may have to input some info that pertains to your particular model, but those links should work for you. Cheers! TheBattons
  18. Do you need USB, or will a serial connection work?
  19. Luc Pockets, What do you use for paperless caching on a Blackberry? They do not run the operating system as a Palm or a Pocket PC (so you can't run CacheMate), and I've never been able to find anything for caching that will run on a Blackberry. If something is available now, it would open a whole new world of inexpensive hardware for paperless caching. TheBattons
  20. Try here: http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/win_desktop.html
  21. I'll admit, the Z22 IS a nice unit...but $99 is retail price on a new unit. There are less expensive options out there, and this IS the "Garage Sale" forum....I see refurbished ones on eBay from reputable sellers that go for $60-70 shipped all the time, not counting the auctions that may go for less....for $99, I'd look for a Z72, or a Tunsten E2 then get the add-on WiFi card to add wireless internet capabilities. I believe most folks starting out in paperless caching are looking more for a $20-$50 solution.....most any PDA with 2+ megs of ram do paperless caching well. TheBattons
  22. If you REALLY want great functionality, such as transferring between PDA and GPSr, then you should look into a pocket PC. When I'm on a long road trip, I bring along my Axim X30. It offers wireless so I can grab updates from geocaching.co, then transfer them to my Garmin 60cs via a special data cable. The Palm OS on the older, cheaper (>$50) basic models currently offers no way to transfer directly via PDA-GPSr.
