  1. You can assume the responsibility of maintenance without being the owner if you put it on your watchlist so that you get any email that is posted to it's logs. You just wouldn't be the correct contact if someone tried to contact the listed owner through a private email so there would be a catch to that.
  2. What triggers the Last Visit stat on the website? My wife was on the site under her account last night and logged a cache find but it shows she was last on the site on 2/8 instead of 2/12.
  3. Ok, the same thing holds for printing to PDF. Closed the map image and then the information above Short Description was then available.
  4. Do a search for a free PrintToPDF utility. It installs and acts like a printer. When you go to print just change from your default normal printer to the PDF option and it will create a PDF file and save it in the location you choose. It won't give you the same format as the ready made one from the site but may be an alternative for you. I guess this is what I will be doing as I was using the PDF file from the site also. P.S. I'm at work so I can't access the utility I use to get the exact name but if I leave it open when I print I can use it to print multiple files into one PDF. Not sure yet if this will be handy for caching or better to have each in it's own file. Now that I'm home and have had time to check this out my utility, PDF Redirect, won't capture the file correctly either. Everything above Short Description is not there. No GC number, no title, no coordinates. Guess I'll have to rethink this one again. No PDF file for me now either. []
  5. same problem with my Vista HCx Garmin Legend C and nuvi 660 work just fine. Didn't change anything and didn't need to download any updates. Note: Both the Legend C and nuvi 660 are now "discontinued" by Garmin. Works fine on my Garmin GPS Map 60 also. No new download or reinstall. OS is Windows XP and browser is IE 7.
  6. This was answered on page 2 of this same thread, post # 8 on the page.

  8. When going to the "Search for nearest caches" from your home coordinates OR (filter out finds) page the link on the left side of the page changes from My Profile back to My Account. Also does this on the "List Newest in (whatever state)" page.
  9. Ok, I found the decrypt button on the page that comes up to print. After I fixed my own coding errors on my profile page all is well there too. Thanks.
  10. I used to be able to decrypt the hint of a cache if I so chose and it would be decrypted on the print page. Now when I decrypt the hint and go to the print page it is still encrypted and no option to decrypt it before printing. Will that be fixed?
  11. The Magellan Gold has worked great for Jynjur and I for the last 787 finds. It doesn't carry cache info like some of the newer ones do, just the essential GC number and waypoint so you'll either have to carry paper or go with an additional paperless solution. I've used Geobuddy with the Meridian Gold both for loading caches to the unit and using the unit for real time navigation with Geobuddy on a laptop. It also works well with GSAK and the like. Hope you enjoy it as well as we have ours if you decide to purchase it. -------------------------------- HuskerMagna
  12. My wife and I were introduced to geocaching at the 2006 Nebraska Star Party, NSP 13 in fact, by a member on here, Twinstars. Joined this site after returning from NSP in August 2006. Bought our GPSr in February of 2007 and have been on the go since. With some time off to get the kids graduated from High School. Now we're ready to spend some time finding some more cache's. We currently only have one GPS but I have a suspicion that will be changing here in the hopefully near future.
  13. Buy a 12 volt to 120 volt inverter that plugs into the car cigarette lighter/power tap and you can run your laptop as long as you want and switch between car provided power and laptop battery power at any time. Keeps both the laptop and the GPS thru the USB charged/powered while on a road trip.
