  3. </ Crickets chirping> 33 views and not a single response? Beuhler? Beuhler?

Wow. Would have thought there might be a FEW caches that would be recommended in the area. Guess we'll just wander around and see what we can find.

    Thanks

Hello! You might want to check out the Wabash Valley Geocachers forum and post there. A lot more locals are active on that sight than here.

  6. geocoins worth is only as much as somone is willing to pay,

Ive seen a coin go for $5 while the day before the same coin went for $80. It depends on how bad somone wants it.

But in effect a geocoin is only worth about $5.50 (cost to make with tracking) what makes them worth more is who dont have them. And how much the have nots have to spend.

    true.

so how much are you willing to spend ;)

  7. You should have an email - waiting to hear........

yea ive yet to get a responce, perhaps they are collecting up more coins to get rid of hehe.

You are both correct, I have received emails about these coins, and I have not yet replied. BUT your missing the point of my post............ I dont know what these coins are worth. <_<

once I figure that out, I will officially offer the ones I want to sell to the masses.

  9. Maybe you can post some of the coin names here and see if anyone will offer you good advice.

Did you do a good search on ebay ?

Well, I think I did a good search of ebay. My goal here isnt to "make a killing", I just dont want to give them away either if you know what I mean.

Here are some off the top of my head. I have a typed list at home:

    Quigley Jones Tall Ship

    2006 Landshark

    2007 Landshark

International Bank of Cachers, blue w/ gold

Team Sand Dollar, Complete set of "legend of the sand dollar", 3 coins

Windrose Dream catchers, complete set of 4 w/ extra incorrect version.

    2006 Indiana

    2007 Indiana

    FTF, bronze

    Geocache America, bronze

there are like 23 coins total if I remember correctly.

  10. When I got into caching in 06, I really liked the geocoins and bought up quite a few over a period of time. I even bought doubles that I never activated.

well Ive decided I dont need the doubles, so Im probably going to sell them. Where can I find a value for these coins? Ive tried looking at prices on ebay but very few of the coins are listed there. I dont know if its because they are older, not as popular, etc.

    thanks!

  11. I just noticed this yesterday. During the day I use an online email program, then when I get home I download everything to Outlook Express. The online email program was fine, more or less, but when I DLed everything to outlook at home, all my Groundspeak emails were completely blank.

I also run AVG free edition, but I dont think I want to turn email scanning off!

  12. Today I noted a new cache! When I opened in up to learn more about it, I was turned away because I'm not a premium member :D . I realize there is need to fund geocaching.com, but I think allowing caches only available to premium members is a bad idea. This sort of thing can lead to a trend that which may scare off new cachers who aren't willing to put pay to join something they're not sure they want to be part of. I know it would have kept me out ;) .

You might not like it, and I understand that, BUT once you place a few caches, especially ammo cans, only to have them stolen and/or vandalized w/ coins and bugs taken (and you also have a good friend who has had his last 5 caches stolen), then you would list MOC as well.

ALL of my caches with ammo cans from now on will be MOC. For me its just a fact of life.

  13. I found the one in Lincoln Trail! However, my GPS was telling me to go 40 feet away from where the actual cache was. Is that about par for the course?

well, not really for good coordinates. If I remember right thats an older cache, and as with anything, technology gets better with age, and so does accuracy. Most caches I find seem to be with in 10 feet of the final location, and I think most consider with in 20 feet pretty decent.
