  15. There are probably as many answers to these questions as there are people on the forum! When we started out, we would buy coins we liked and just purchase one or two extra to use as trades. That is how we built up our collection originally. For coins in your collection, generally it is considered good etiquette if it is a personal geocoin to check with the person who made it before selling the coin. If it is a commercially available coin it is usually fair game to do with it whatever you want. If it was a mystery coin then generally it should not be sold and should only be traded with permission. However, the vast majority of coins in caches are designed to be moved, very, very few are in a cache as swag! What is the most common size? between 1.5-2 inches but there is a huge variety How many do you buy? depends on how well I like the coin and how much spare money I have! Do you have a coin minted hoping to sell them and make money, or just trade for other coins? A little of both. There is little profit in minting coins but our collection has increased a *ton* since we started minting. Do you leave them in a geocache without swapping anything or are you expected to receive a like coin in trade from a cache? Perhaps a better way to ask this is "How do your coins get their start?" If it is *really* swag then you should trade as good or better for it. Mosy likely it is in there to be moved, in which case you would just move it on to another cache. Hope that helps a little, I'm sure you'll get a variety of opinions!

  17. Just wanted to give everyone an update- The coins were ordered last week and codes were ordered today. Well over half of the coins we are ordering have been sold, so if you are still interested in the full set please keep in mind that it looks like they may sell out during the pre-order period. Speaking with the mint tonight, I was told that the coins will be here earlier than expected! Estimated delivery has now been moved up to early in the first week of May. The votes for the icon were tallied up and #2 is the winner we appreciate everyone who gave us their input. Thanks for your support!
  18. Here is nature-seeker's submission... Submission #1 (shrunk down to 32x32 pixel icon size)
  19. Fun cointest! Cheesy Stuffed Chicken 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts 1 box stuffing mix 4 string cheese sticks 1 can cream of mushroom soup shredded cheese to top Pre-heat oven to 350. Prepare the stuffing mix according to the directions on the box- set it aside to cool a little bit Pound the chicken breasts with a tenderizer or mallet until they are an even thickness all the way through. (a *really* good way to get the days frustrations out! ) Lightly salt and pepper the chicken Take the string cheese and a good sized blob of stuffing and put it in the center of the flattened chicken breast Roll up the chicken lengthwise keeping the filling in the center Place it in a baking dish with the ends of the chicken face down and bake for 30 minutes After 30 minutes put the soup over the chicken, top with the shredded cheese and bake for 30 more minutes You can put all kinds of yummy additions into the filling (for those who are not veggie adverse!) around our house we love to put sauteed onions and spinach in place of the stuffing, I've also made it with wild rice and with white rice. Yummy!!
  20. #2 and #3 are the head of the dragon shown on the key... Thanks for your vote!
  21. Everything is coming along nicely! We are to the point of ordering codes and an icon.... We have come up with three different choices for the icon, and are having a hard time choosing. so... why not put it to a vote, and pick the most popular one. Icon #1 Icon #2 Icon #3 Please, vote for the one you like best. -OR- Choice #4 If none of the above icons do it for you, design one for us! (post it here and email us a copy) If your Icon design is the one picked we will reward you with a set of the keys! Voting and icons submissions are open from now until Monday april 20th, as we are planning to order the codes and custom icon no later than april 21st. Thanks, and have fun!
  22. I've thought about a lock and/or a key chain to hold all the keys, but I like the treasure chest idea much better! *Sofi goes off to happily play with design ideas...*
  23. There are/were a large number of people who did this with last years version too! I wore my around as jewelry for several weeks when they first came in.
