If I heard a fellow cacher on FRS say "Any Geocachers -Whiskey/ Tango/ Foxtrot" I'd be too busy laughing my *** off to respond to them. So, maybe something else would be better like "Any Geocachers? - I have a Sierra/ Mike/ Uniform/ Romeo/ Foxtrot"!!!!!! That would get me there in a hurry!

Yes, I already have a 3 ring binder and have a 3 hole punch at home. I have to delete my track log every Saturday and Sunday so I can make sense of the screen. I delete waypoints as I go cause it's too dadgum full. I saw a new cache listed within 30 minutes of my home last night so, since I work a second shift, I woke up early today to go and find it before work. I had the 1st log for it. I guess if I can't get cache breaks at work, I'll just have to suffer from sleep deprivation too. So now I'm mad about that too.!!!!

I'm just mad that since I found out about Geocaching like 2 weeks ago, that I can't make a career of it!! Caching has consumed my every thought for 2 weeks now. When I'm at work, I just watch the clock SLOWLY tick by while (in the down time) I read the forums and print off the cache pages to my next adventures. Now I don't like my job, it's hard to get any sleep, I'm scratching Poison Ivy all over my legs, picking splinters out of my hands, massaging sore muscles, awaiting lab results of the West Nile virus that I know I must have by now. dadgum I'm mad!!!

I'm from Ankeny and just started Geocaching a week ago. Tons of fun. Team Tecmage and Geoforse/Greaterforse have some fantastic hides in the area.

I agree with Rubbertoe also. I checked out a TB this weekend but I also took and left another item as normal.

ohh ok, Thanks RubberToe, that makes more sense. It didn't do that automatically because I "grabbed" it instead of "retrieving" it. (I logged it as a find before the previous holder logged it as placing it there). How 'bout this then. What do you have to do in the forums to do the same thing then?

create a hyperlink inside a message. Today I took a TB and went to log it. I want a hyperlink in my message pointing to the cache I took it from. I copied the shortcut of the cache page and pasted it in but of course, that displays the entire address, I just want others to see the name of the cache and click that. Please help so I can quit looking stupid on here.

I checked another website with this same feature. Nevermind everyone. They are using images that are held in groundspeaks server and it is apparently down. I will have to wait until they fix it or a firewall/router or something.

opening a URL from a cache page? I found a micro cache today with a password in it. The cache page has a link to a URL with a password protected .doc "completion certificate" When I click the link, my file download comes up ok but, the new browser page has no address in it so I receive the error"No page to display" This ever happenned to any of you???

totally unneccesary IMHO. It's just a game, no one would ever admit to doing it if they were "scored" differently and wanted the most high honor and supreme glory of seeing another number racked up on their count. You know whether or not you find with or without help. What more do you need? I've already logged 5 finds and 3 no finds. What's the big deal? No one would take away my birthday if I "cheated" but I'd sure feel bad inside.

Yeah, I'm a newbie. I have no problem with admitting it. I started last weekend for the first time. (2) finds and roughly 10-15 posts on the forums. I must be exactly the kind of person you are referring to. Whether or not it was your intention, you very much did offend ME! I can only speak for myself and not newbies in general, but it did seem like an attack and extremely arrogant of you. You are harming the sport you apparently love as this thread will leave a sour taste in the mouths of many newbies. I have the most to say as a newbie with the fewest finds BECAUSE I'M A NEWBIE!!! I have a lot of questions (dumb as they may seem to you). Can't you remember when you first started? I think you should leave another post with an apology! With that said, I must defend you a little due to the "self-regulation" comment. That much is true and should be common sense to anyone. I imagine to most people, this is nothing more than a weekend game. A search for $.20 trinkets where the search itself is really the fun. Lighten up! This angered me so much to read that I'm considering just staying away from the forums. Wait, that would mean you get what you want, and I don't think that's what good for the sport. My 2 cents for anyone who cares, it's just a game.
