  1. So far my Doc Martins work great for me. maleck4
  2. Do any of you go geocaching alone and do you ever worry about being hassled or assaulted? Personally I'm a little too chicken to go at it alone, but curious what others think about this. maleck4
  3. I appreciate the responses. This is a gravesite that is really old and is not being taken care of that I can tell. It is pretty overgrown and spooky at night!*bonus* I'm not superstitious and don't believe in an afterlife so that is why I wasn't sure if this would be considered taboo or not. I'm just trying to think of something different that would be fun to hunt, and not hurt anyone. maleck4
  4. This might be a big no no, but I'm new to this and not sure yet what is acceptable. There are some historical grave sites that I know of and they are not currently being used. Would it be okay to hide a cache there? Or would that be considered disrespectful? maleck4
  5. I'm female and I geocache too with my husband and children. My youngest child is 4 months old and I've only taken him on two so far when the weather gave us a break from the heat. I will only go caching when the weather is mild...I'd worry about my baby getting too hot. I look forward to hunts in the fall when the leaves are turning. maleck4
  6. Good information. It's reassuring to know that it takes 24 hours for ticks to transmit anything. I always check our bodies when we get home from a cache. maleck4
  7. I'm wondering if ticks will climb on you if you are wearing off? Can they drop on you from trees? I am a little worried about my children getting ticks on them and want to hear from some of you experienced folks out there how you avoid them while geocaching. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance. maleck4
