  1. Has anyone ever tried an invitation only cache? I've thought of a few ways to accomplish this. Any thoughts? I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  2. Since I apparently can't post a new thread for some reason. I think I'll hijack this one. I've been thinking of doing an invitation only cache using email to notify the invitees and to report the find. Any thoughts? I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  3. Why can't I start a new topic?
  4. Has anyone ever tried an invitation cache? Thought was to just do a little close knit thing using email. Any thoughts? I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  5. I was thinking of hiding an invitation only cache. Has anyone ever tried to do one of these. It wouldn't be posted to the site just email invitations sent out. Any comments? I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  6. Virts are sometimes just as interesting as real caches. I seldom do them however. Freelens in his own account only does locationless. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  7. I consider "No" signs to be strong suggestions not direct orders. Rank me with the 10% that just trys to have fun. More caching, less whinning. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  8. quote:Originally posted by Mopar:_CLPS_ For the most part, your comments are totally off base from what we are discussing here. Do you REALLY believe you need to get written permission from the govt to post the GPS coordinates of a location that the owners of the property (US!) as well as the people who manage if for us (NPS) already want and encourage people to come visit? Zactly I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.

They wear kilts because sheep can hear a zipper from 100 yds. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  10. I understand everyones frustration. Since besides the golden spike, there are only 2 other possibile virts in the entire state. The Tabernacle and the Great Salt Lake. No wonder there is a battle over the rights. My advice, besides moving, since it's a virt it doesn't need permission and the first poster gets to keep it. The Geocaching folks are following their own rules and we should try to encourage that. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  11. Last weekend I found a large organizer book with business cards and a calculator in it. It also was moldy and had little worms crawling around so I left it. Also found at the site were a pair of slippers, 1 sneaker, some quart oil containers, a Motel 6 key card and a very alive Siamese cat that scared the crap out of me when it darted away at the last second . I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  12. Someone put a religious medal of sorts in one of my caches 4 months ago...it's still there. People seldom take religious items just leave them. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  13. I see nothing at all funny about this forum. This is serious stuff we do. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  14. I still don't understand why people on vacation see the need to place caches. Unless there isn't anyone else around to do it. If there was some one willing to maintain it they should have placed it there themselves. If I find a vacation cache that's not maintained well I'll just remove it. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  15. USN Electronics Tech. VP-50 Patrol Squadron Phillipines and Viet Nam 1964-1970 War is never the answer. It wasn't then and it isn't now. My son is on a Patriot crew in Kuwait. I am very proud of him and just want him home safe. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  16. I've found the same thing. The people of whom you speak usually participate in their own particular hobby exclusively. That's how they became no-it-a.... I mean experts. You should be proud of the fact that you have tried many things. I find life much more rewarding that way. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  17. Why? Because I thought it might help to support the site. The caches were made public in a week or 2. A good portion of the local cachers are members and I wanted to give them a chance to get there early before the others. As for the caches not showing up on Dan's page that is the least of my worries. I have tried for months to get my listings on that site straightened out to no avail. I'm sorry but a data base that refuses to reflect reality is of no use to me. I've given up even referencing it anymore. I know he's busy and I appreciate all the hard work. But..... 19. It can be completed in less than 2 hours and is around 1 mile walking distance. It's been out since Jan. 7 and has been found by fewer than 8 people I think. It really doesn't matter to us how many visitors our caches have as long as everyone enjoys them. If we start getting negative comments on one of our caches, we'll pull it in a heartbeat. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  20. Nobody told me this was a webcam cache. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.

  24. No problems here. Got 3 email notifications last night and 3 this morning. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.
  25. Thanks for sharing. I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here. I hate it when I go to someones profile and their latest news is 5 months old.
