  1. Glad to see some interest in the NE Forum! The campsite map is here. There are only 5 sites remaining! We will be there an extra night arriving on Thursday night. Mike, yea there are not any trailer hook-ups as in electric or sewer, cable etc. The showers are camp showers in a bath house, I do remember somewhat of a hot / warm water in the loop we are staying in. Buttaskotch, we have an additional 2 person tent if you need it. 1Naturemom, thanks for jumping in with some info. You organizers are doing a great job! It was a fantastic event last year and looks to be even bigger this year It's nice to see this campground filling up, last year we had a bunch of muggles in our loop. Looks like we may soon close out the campground with mostly geocachers Very cool! Get a site while you still can if anyone is still on the fence.
  2. Congrats Bro Man on #600 Keep on Cachin!
  3. I just got my Garmin NUVI 650 and then they come out with this NUVIPhone thingy ...I should have held out for this one. Well maybe next Christmas.. Very cool.
  4. Thanks Boda and VA3HST for your help. I agree the combo of the NUVI for driving and the map60CSx for caching is good and is what I intended to do in most situations. I guess I have to decide whether or not it's worth it to purchase the additional CN for use with the 60CSx for those times I may not have my NUVI with me. Sounds like it would be functional, just not as nice as the NUVI for driving. Hence the reason I purchased the NUVI. The additional city maps in the 60CSx could be good for urban cachin too I guess. I agree the SD card that YOU load with maps gives you more control over what you have stored in your Garmin handheld. As Brian says "purchase the dvd". I have a one gig micro sd card with the entire East loaded with topo maps. It's nice to just transfer waypoints and not worry about maps. I believe I have plenty of room remaining so I will be able to install both TOPO and City Navigator to the same micro sd card if I want to. With the price of sd cards dropping you can get a 1 or 2 gig card quite cheap, like 10-15 dollars for a 1 gig card.
  5. A pair of prescription sunglasses were found at Garrett Mountain during the Sopranos / Hitman event hike on 1/26/08 They were found near the "Rocky I" cache GC11QBV. They are small frames so I am guessing they belong to a kid or small adult. Email me if they belong to you or you know who they belong too.
  6. I have CN NT 2008 and tried it out today on the 60CSx, and it worked just the same as it does on my NUVI. I just got the 60CSx this week, and I was impressed how well it works for driving. I also have TOPO on it, and that works fairly well for driving, but if you want all the streets, you Need the City Navigator. Now I've got a GPS with driving directions for each car. So, since I got TOPO and CN, I've got the best of both worlds on the 60CSx, CN for driving and TOPO for caching. I'd NOT recommend City Navigator for caching alone, it's not meant for that. Did you purchase CN separately and load to your 60CSx or can you extract your CN from the NUVI and load to your 60SSx? Does CN behave the same way as far as routing goes with turn by turn directions when compared to the NUVI vrs the 60CSx? Could I get away with decent vehicle driving directions if I don't want to use my car NUVI unit or will I be missing the NUVI? I ask because I am planning a trip out west and am considering just bringing my 60CSx only with the CN installed for driving directions. I will switch to TOPO for caching.
  7. For those who have City Navigator, how do you like it for auto driving routing? Does it give you turn by turn directions? I have a Garmin GPS Map60Csx and have topo but not CN. I do have a car nuvi unit that uses the same CN software. I was just curious about what people think about the CN on the hand held unit.
  8. Geo Jamboree 6 on June 7-8, 2008 GC18ER1 Just to make sure everyone from the Northeast Forum knows about this event I figured I would post here. I'm trying to get some more attendee's from the Northeast Forum so we can fill in the campsites. Only 10 sites remain, get in while you can. We attended this event last year and had a great time with some fun cachers in nearby Connecticut. The campsite map is here, we just reserved number 65 Ok...who else is going?
  9. Cache all morning......afternoon/eve picnic......bonfire...smores/snacks....Night cachin....too much? or have we GONE there before?
  10. I think an additional cup of coffee may make someone less grumpy in the morning, it usually works for me. I believe Brian was just trying to be helpful. If you provided more info perhaps you may get more responses to your inquiry. Good luck with your goal.
  11. Congrats on your 1000th find! Great job, keep on caching!
