  1. Good idea. I wonder if they could do it and what kind of costs would be involved in that?
  2. Thanks for all the comments so far. If anyone has a picture of a coin die, could they post it? Until I see the picture, so I know the size, I still can't believe it would cost so much more to ship the die than the coins, unless it is really, really huge. Also, I just want to make it clear that I didn't doubt what Sharon told me, I was just questioning the mint.
  3. I made a personal coin and like everyone else who has had a coin made, I had to pay for the die. (Actually, for some reason [maybe because I bought it], I thought the die would come back to me with my coins; I did pay for the die to be made.) Why shouldn't I be able to have something I paid for? It is my property. I love mechanical things and I thought it would make a nice display to have my coin and the die together. I had the coin made at Hogwild and I asked Sharon to find out what it would cost to ship the die to me. She quoted me $130! She said that was pretty much cost. I must admit, I was in shock when I saw that price. That was more than it cost to send the coins! Is the coin company ripping me off? Is this reasonable? (I certainly don't think so!) So here's what I would like to know: Have any of you gotten your die(s) after you had a coin made? Do you remember what you paid for shipping? How big are the coin dies? If you didn't get the die(s) was it because the shipping was too much? Are getting personal coin dies different from getting coin dies that are manufactured for sale to the general public? Am I the only person that ever wanted to have a coin die? I am just curious about this issue. Don't quote me on this, but I think Sharon told me something about the coin manufacturers don't want you to take the die and get another coin made elsewhere. I wouldn't do that because I'm not going to get more of these coins made but on the other hand, it is none of their business what I do with MY die. Can anyone out there enlighten me on this subject? Am I missing something here?
  4. Thank you Captain Zulu for the birds of a feather coin and for the wonderful 2008 Dutch Geocoin! I have never seen this coin before and I was very surprised and touched by your generosity!
  5. Congratulations Fredhead, on all of the A's! You have the coolest kid mission I've seen! I sure wish I were a kid!

  8. I didn't know there was a 2009 Graduation (University) geocoin. What does it look like? I know I bought a Geocoin University Geocoin a few years ago, but that's the only one I know about. Do you have a picture?
  9. I got a beautiful and brilliantlly colored Birds of a Feather geocoin from Captain Zulu. The cool thing about Captain Zulu's bird is that it is in the colors of the Dutch province, FlevolandHe, where he lives. Now, how cool is that? He also included a surprise in the envelope-an awesome 2008 Dutch Geocoin, which I have never seen before.
  10. I am very sad to say, that I was lucky enough to receive 2 Geo Sasquatch coins in the mail, postmarked Nov. 28, '08, and I have not done anything with them because I didn't understand the instructions. I didn't want to do the wrong thing, so I did nothing. I haven't been in the forums much lately (not because I didn't want to be here), and I totally forgot about them until now. Perhaps one of you can explain what I am supposed to do. The first part of the instructions are clear enough, it's the last paragraph that has me baffled, especially the part in red. The letter reads and I quote: I have sent you 2 Geo Sasquatch coins. I would like you to do the following with the coins. One coin is for you to put in your collection. The other coin is for you to place it where ever or give it to whom ever you want. If you would let me know what cache or where you drop the coin. So I can log that the Sasquatch has been there. If you give the last coin to someone. I would like them to "find it in a cache" please let me know what cache they "found" it in. Any help would be appreciated from me and Geo Sasquatch, as I am sure she/he/it would like to see this coin start it's adventure.
  11. I'm looking for the Geowoodstock VII and the Midnight Madness coin, too. I have my personal coin to trade and many other older coins. Make me an offer.

  13. If anyone would like to trade one of my personal geocoins, for a Geowoodstock VII Geocoin, please email me. I wish I could have gone! I would love to have one of those coins!
  14. Welcome back. It's nice to see that familiar avatar. I'm glad all is going well in your family and that things are getting back on track for all of you.
  15. Thanks for the cointest and congrats to all of the winners! I'm definitely going to have to write these sayings down!
  16. Wow! I love this cointest and I love everyone's thoughts! I'll definitely have to write these down! My thought and something I try to live by: "Real stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
  17. I love those Bunny coins, too! Nosnow has some awesome coins. I'll have to figure out what I can trade for one of those bunny coins. We have bunnies and we have a lot of Royal Doulton Bunnykins, too! We also have Beatrix Potter wedgewood china. We like to use ours at Easter.
  18. I think I have it, now! What FUN! THANKS a million for all of your talent and hard work! It's awesome, I can't wait until #2 hits the airwaves.
  19. Fredhead-I had the opportunity to meet you and your family at Geocoinfest in PA. You guys are great! And you are amazingly creative and clever to have thought out such a complex, intricate, but FUN mission! I love your mission and I think a lot of kids will have fun with it. Perhaps you could talk your Dad into creating one as clever as yours. . .
  20. fairyhoney-I totally agree with you!
  21. Oh, I certainly agree that a coin is not a kidney and I also agree that there is no need for threats (what kind of threats?) unless you are talking about complaints. Here is where I do draw the line. Plain and simple, they stole money-period. They are crooks and I don't care what kind of financial bind they are in! They took people's money and are using it for another purpose, other than the original intention-that of an exchange of money for a/some geocoins. Am I crippled because I am out the 50 bucks or so that I spent-NO-but I am still angry about their lack of honesty and integrity! Where are their morals and principles? Doesn't anyone see that aspect of the situation? I know many people are looking at those of us who lost money as complainers. I certainly do not. It is very legitimate to be concerned with where your HONEST, hard-working money goes and wanting it back-especially these days! There have been plenty of people in this forum that have fallen on hard times, but they didn't take someone's money; they opted not to buy coins, to buy fewer coins, or sell some coins to get some money together! Never in a million years would I ever, under ANY circumstances, take someone's money that didn't belong to me.
  22. Could someone tell me how/where to get the mix to download? So far, I haven't found it! I made an account, but I can't find the mix to download. I hate to be so dense, but it just seems that I can never figure out this computer stuff! I can't wait to hear it!
  23. I would like to thank Shop99er for his generosity in sending me a Spring Fling coin! I had no idea that I would be the recipient of one of these lovely coins. It totally caught me off guard! What a wonderful surprise, a beautiful coin, and a most generous gesture!
