  1. I just did this recently on a "loved this cache" pair of lips and it worked out fine. I did put painters tape on top, then drilled the hole. It took a while, put it turned out beautifully. I hope this helps.
  2. Glenn, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I was sorry to see this post, but I will always be thankful that it was you who steered me here. Thank you and my sincerest sympathies to you.
  3. Hey, that's my birthday, too! I always hated that birthday. . .too close to Christmas and New Years!
  4. Wow! That is totally awesome! I have heard of Chinese Chop Marks, but I thought they were just signatures for pieces of artwork. I had no idea that they were used for coins. I love the coin pictured in the forum. Thanks for the information. I always love to find interesting tidbits of trivia.
  5. OOps, didn't read far enough, I'll take the gold and nickle set. Let me know asap; because I am leaving for a trip the day after Christmas and won't be near a computer.
  6. Wow! Awesome coin! I would like a couple, so put me down.
  7. Personally, I love all of your ideas. You are very creative and prolific!
  8. I just got a santa oakleaf from nielsenc today. Thank you so much. I am not worthy. . .but it sure puts a smile on my face and adds loyalty to my heart.
  9. Can't let this go, without a shout out to my mail carrier, ROBERT, who is awesome, too. He has gone beyond the call of duty on many occassions for me. My mailbox is actually a brick enclosed commercial trashcan (yep, it's true), so it can hold a lot of stuff. It also means that things get scattered all over the place when dropped in the mailbox. HOWEVER, Robert always rubberbands everything into a nice, neat package for me. So, thanks to a lot of good postal carriers. A shout out and high five to PETER the postman and BILLYPILOT. Keep up the good work. You guys rock!
  10. Wow! You took the words right out of my mouth! I did the same thing! Merry Cristmas to us both and may my husband never look at my visa card!
  11. I would also like to add my KUDOS to Oak Coins for a beautiful coin and lots more goodies! Thank you for your generosity. Opening the package and finding the unexpected was as good as a cache find. You guys have the right idea. Keep up the work on the beautiful coins.
  12. Why? I think the majority of us in the forums know how much it cost to make a coin. It really doesn't take much research to figure that out. I don't think anything is hidden. If you don't like business mixed with geocaching, then you don't have to participate. But please let me have my fun! I love collecting coins. I love to have 3 or 4 padded mailers in the mail! I know people make money off of me. They also make money off of me when I go to Walmart. I enjoy coins. I think of them as little pieces of art. Wow! Thanks for justifying the way I feel about coins. You are right, they are like little pieces of art. I just need a good way to display them, so I can see them more often.
  13. Do you know the price with shipping, yet? Depending on price and shipping, I would like one of each metal.
  14. Ditto And I can't post the artwork because I am artistically challenged & barely computer literate! I'm glad there is someone out there who feels the same way I do!
  15. Yes! I was just wondering about these coins. Thanks for the information.
  16. I just wanted to take the time to thank AuntieNae for explaining a few things about the mystery geocoin. I now know that's what I received in the mail and they are as clever as they are awesome. Thanks Oakcoins, how about doing that again?
  17. Okey, I'm new to acquiring geocoins and I ordered 2 N because they were out of G, whatever the heck that means! Anyways, I got 2 coins today from Oakcoins and I don't remember seeing these, so I think they must be the mystery coins. (Cute and Clever) Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!
  18. Well, I'll bite. I love surprises, but only if they are good. . .don't disappoint me! I ordered 2 nickel, no gold left.
  19. How do you find those cache sites and how do you post a message for them? I am just learning all about geocaching. Thanks!
  20. No email for me either! Thank goodness I came here and found out!
  21. I got my coins a couple of days ago. I couldn't believe how quickly I got them. Thanks a lot. The coins are adorable. I'm a sucker for fairies!
  22. I started geocaching at the end of July and I haven't had much time to go out and find caches, (besides, I am crumby at finding them, but I am getting a little better) but just to let you know how STUPID and NAIVE I am, it NEVER entered my mind that geocachers would steal anything from a cache! I had no idea what the forums were, either, until Glenn721 told me about them! The first TB I found was the Traveling Moose and I read that it wanted to travel, so I SENT it to relatives in Italy and then to Iran. 2 weeks later, I got a message from GC.com to put it back into a cache, but I couldn't, so I notified the owner, as requested. They didn't mind at all. I sent some pictures and I am getting ready to put it back into a cache. What I didn't realize was when it wanted to travel, it met from cache to cache! I now realize what I am supposed to do! So the point to this story is, it is hard to make a mistake, if you are honest. When you log these finds, you will be reminded. So now, I know better and I do better.
  23. I think that's a great idea. Geocoins are one of the things I really enjoy in this game, and if said coins are not in circulation, I don't get to admire them. I move every coin I find. Probably 80% of the coins I find have nothing additional with them to indicate they are not just a high dollar piece of swag. I can certainly see how someone new to the game might get that idea. Edit to add: I just released my first coin into the wild. I wish I had thought of Brian's idea. ME, TOO!
