  1. Hi Theotokos! I just took a look at your trading list and it looks like you are doing a great job of getting a lot of coins in such a short time! Good for you. I, like you, am always afraid to trade, too. But, I have always had confidence issues. Usually when I trade, it is because someone has contacted me first, or I have seen in the forums that someone wants a coin that I have gotten that is really popular, but sold out. When the second situation arises, I look at their seeking list (they have always had a seeking list) and see what they have that I want. So far, it's been great and everyone has been happy with the trade. Generally speaking, almost all of the coins I have bought have been about the same price, give or take a couple of $$$. To me, I just trade the coins I like/want. (Not that I have made that many trades) I don't trade for more than one coin because everything I have, I feel is only worth one coin of equal value to me. Good luck on your future trades!
  2. Congratulations wyohunter on your GCF coin. Believe me, I know exactly what you were feeling. I almost did the same thing, the only thing that stopped me was having a 9 year old getting off of the bus and me not being at home! Yep. . .consider me in the same category of the truly addicted!
  3. Congrats to the derschlings and Frozen Buns. I loved your stories and pictures. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Oooh, I love glow coins! I missed out on the first White Bear coins. I certainly hope I don't miss out again!
  5. Happy Veteran's Day to all who have served and to all that are currently serving. Thank you FairyHoney for the cointest-very generous of you. I lived in the Philippines during the Viet Nam war and unfortunately I got to see some of the causalities of war a up close and personal. Our school was next to the hospital and on many occasions our playground was closed because helicopters were landing there bringing in casualties from Viet Nam. Believe me, it left a profound impression in my mind and my heart. I am always grateful to those that have served and I have such compassion for those who are living in the areas where there is war. My father: WWII-captured by the Japanese and imprisoned at Camp O'Donald, Philippines, served in Korea, and Viet Nam- retired My older brother: USN My younger brother: USN, served in the Gulf War and Iraq twice (received Bronze Star) My 2 Uncles: USN and USAF My husband: USN My Mother in law: USN My Father in law: USN
  6. I got my poppy pins and coins today. They are beautiful! I bought them in remembrance of of all veterans and because they were simply beautiful! The red is magnificent. I would love to give one to my Dad, but ya know, he wouldn't appreciate its beauty. He is 84 and doing well for his age and honestly the only person I know that truly wants no material items. He enjoys a very plain and simple life. He is a veteran of WWII and was captured by the Japanese when they invaded the Philippine Islands. He was also in the Korean War, and Vietnam War! So thank you, Oakcoins for commemorating veterans everywhere!
  7. After no geocoins for a long while, I got the mother load today! I got the hinged morpho butterflies, I Cache Glow, Veterans Day American Flag, Red Poppy Remembrance coins and pins, USA Bumper Sticker Glow LE, GCC October issue-Sputnik, and a Happy Halloween Grab Bag full of goodies; so much more than was advertised! Oakcoins was very generous!
  8. I just got my butterflies today. They are really beautiful. I love how each of the butterflies were folded, so when you took them out of their sleeves, it was like unwrapping a gift. . .almost like two butterflies in one. Great job, Mike! Thank you! BTW, if anyone has a pink that they would like to trade for a blue, let me know.
  9. Congrats GEO*Trailblazer 1 on your Geocoin Fairy Geocoin! I love the poem you wrote!
  10. Wow, Mousekakat! I ditto that! IMHO, I actually wonder how much stuff is truly original. Thanks to the internet, you can find something similar of everything! There have been many times when I have thought of a design or an idea and I googled it and sure enough, they have already been thought of-even though I thought they were original! I like both designs and I definitely feel there's room for both coins. I own the first design and I would be interested in owning the second design, too!
  11. Congratulations to all the lucky recipients of the CreepyCrawlyCachers coin!
  12. Congratulatios to derschlings! Lucky you! Sorry to hear you lost a couple of your salt water fish, Anthus. We have koi and last summer a Blue Huron swooped down and got all of them except one! I feel your pain.
  13. Congratulations on your new geocoin, Theotokos! You certainly didn't waste any time. I am still pondering the design for my coin and a bit too afraid to do it. Care to elaborate about your design? Very cute design; I'll keep my eyes open when you put it up for sale.
  14. Congratulations on your new addition, Stephanie! That is certainly one cute puppy! I love the name you chose because it is my son's name. . . Tristan!
  15. When you dream, which point of view do you use? (check one, please) Internal __ External X Both __ 2. Do you consider yourself to be creative? (check only one) Yes X Most of the time No __ 3. Age 54 Like Token Collector, I would like to know what her hypotesis is, too! This sounds like a very interesting project!
  16. Congrats to all of the lucky recipients who recieved their creepy crawly "treat"!
  17. Wow, sillygirl & jrr! How did you do that? That was awesome!
  18. Wow, I've never heard of that "Mickey" coin. I would certainly love to have that one in my collection as well. ( I used to work at Walt Disney World and I loved it! When my family returned from the Philippines, we went to Disneyland in CA and I thought this would be the coolest place to work! And I was right!. . . ) If anyone finds out how to get one, put me on the list to notify!
  19. OH MY GOSH!! I just saw this. Johnny, if you do these, please let me know. I am definitely interested in these! As you may know, I have loved all of the coins you have done. Your craftsmanship is incredible! Your ideas are always wonderfully unique! You always keep up updated every step of the way. Again thank you for everything and I will look forward to the new coins, if you do them.
  20. You won't be disappointed! They are beautifully crafted and very unique; perhaps the most unique of all geocoins.
  21. Would you please send me a copy of that email, too, Pengoes? Thank you. Ditto...if you don't mind.. Emails sent. Hope it is helpful. I am not an expert. LOL But I am happy to help anyway I can. Hey PengoFamily; Ditto the above; could you send me the info, too? I have the design, but haven't had any luck getting a response back. . .I guess that means they don't want to do it and didn't want to tell me. Oh well, it's nice to know that they can take your design and use it. We'll see about that. Thanks in advance for your help.
  22. CONGRATULATIONS to beckerbuns, Nurse Dave, Haughton's Hunters, Team Shy dog, and Solan 109~ Welcome to the "Bitten Bug Club". . . it looks like it's getting to be quite a big club! That G.O' Coin Bug Esquire is certainly a mighty busy insect and oh so clever!
  23. To all of you who have congratulated me on my Geocoin Fairy find~ THANK YOU! I have enjoyed reading everyone's comments. CONGRATS to 007BigD! I loved your story and I loved the grin on your face with your Fairy Geocoin. To the Geocoin Fairy: I, too, am very sad and upset that your good will has been tarished by whomever it was that put your coin on EBay. (I personally didn't see it, I just read about it on this forum) I am very thankful to you for all of the joy you have brought me and many others who have found your coins. Your coin challenged me to go out and hike more difficult trails than I would normally have done and since I found your coin, I have been hiking some challenging trails. You showed me that I could do it, even when I thought I couldn't! Thank you for that. Your coin also caused me to learn how to take advantage of the features on the geocaching website! Sometimes, I can be a little slow to figure things out, even when some geocachers on this forum told me what to do! However, being determined "to figure" it out, led me to a successful hunt. Thank you for that, too. I always felt that when you decided to stop flying from cache to cache, it would be a sad day for many of us geocachers. In light of the current events, it has really caused heavy hearts among many of us reading your recent post. Thank you for all of your generosity and kindness. I wish you joy and happiness in whatever your future decisions may be.
  24. I saw that post, too. I went there hoping to find the Geocoin Fairy's coin, but flyingmoose beat me to it. (Did he tell you that the cache description is in German? Had to translate before I left.) We were coming from opposite directions, but flyingmoose had the advantage, he knew where the cache was and was familiar with the location. The GCF visited another cache nearby, and I wasn't even going to bother because I thought whoever found this one would certainly have gone to the other site, too. I got there and pulled everything out of that humungus cache, but I didn't find the coin . . .until I signed the logbook. Just as flyingmoose described, you open the logbook and voila! Out fell the lovely Fairy coin! I was ecstatic! However, in my hast to get to the cache, I don't know what I did when I marked the waypoint for the parking lot because when I left the cache site, following the parking waypoint, I was still somewhere in the woods. . . all alone! I walked for about 20 minutes and finally ran into civilization, but man, was I far, far away from that parking lot. Fortunately for me, a park ranger, (Thank you for your kindness, Jim) gave me a ride to my car. I was MILES away! Whoa, how did I get so far off track? And who said you couldn't get lost with a GPSr? Oh well, I'm safe at home and now the proud owner of coin #133 from the Geocoin Fairy. Thank You so much for the coin, Geocoin Fairy!
  25. What a cute coin! Congrats Joni!
