  1. I have never met Rod and only know him through the forums. He seems like such a wonderful person and I am so sorry for his loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and to Tod's family.
  2. WOW! This is going to be a difficult cointest to judge-ALL of the pictures are cute, beautiful, or fantastic. I certainly couldn't pick a favorite. I love all of them!
  3. 1. E-mail sent - Yes 2. Name received - Yes 3. Mission sent - Yes 4. Mission received - Yes I have been away for a couple of weeks and when I returned there was a box from Lorca from the Reverse Souvenir Mission. I knew it was coming, but I had to wait until I returned to get it. It was a nice welcome home surprise that was filled with many WONDERFUL goodies. Thank you so much for everything! I did not have any of the coins you sent and I wanted both! You did a wonderful and clever diorama of things about me and Frederick, MD. Thank you for taking the time to do that. You are very creative. I am amazed that you found the actor, Shawn Hatosy, who was from Frederick, MD. . .I had no idea! Now that was creative and awesome. (How in the world did you find that fact?) Also, thank you for sending your wonderful signature item; I love it! Our family loves to play games, so the First to Find card game will be lots of fun. Last, but not least, I love the miniature delft "wooden" shoe and airplane charm. They are lovely. You did a FANTASTIC job on this mission and I am very grateful to you for taking the time and effort to put all of these wonderful things together for me. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
  4. Naomi, I am so glad you liked what I sent! When Bob sent your name, I panicked because I knew I wouldn't be able to find much about where you lived. I am never quite sure I am doing the right thing when I do these missions. I am always sweating bullets that I will send something that the recipient will like. I am not very good with the computer and I always have a difficult time finding things that everyone else seems to find with ease. I hope I sent a few coins that you didn't have. I couldn't find a list of any particular coins you were looking for.
  5. I have sent out my mission. I haven't received my mission, but I have been in contact and I know it is en route.
  6. I have the five children who sent out the coin mentioned above. I decided to check on its status tonight and realized what happened. I am quite sad and dreading reporting the news to them. Greetings. Email me through my profile with your address, I will send you a new coin for your children to set free. And tell them with every sad event , there are always good ones to follow. Glenn Glenn, you are truly so giving and sweet!
  7. Well, I have finally completed my mission. I am so sorry it is soooo late! This was by far the most difficult mission for me in terms of what to include and how to include it. I also had great difficulties finding enough information. After I got all of my information together and had almost typed everything, I lost power at my house and lost all of my information. It was a beautiful day and I had no idea that the power would go out. If that hadn't happened it would have still been late, but it would have been done a week ago. I just hope my secret mission person likes what I did and doesn't think I am a total wimp! To Bob-Thank you for this MOST DIFFICULT and MOST CHALLENGING mission. I learned a lot and enjoyed researching the background for this. I still am not sure I got it right, but I honestly did the best I could. I just wished I could have had more time, in spite of being soooo late! 1. Email sent - yes 2. Name recieved - yes 3. Mission sent - At long last! It was mailed today and I must say the postage was a shocker!!!! 4. Mission arrived - Not Yet, but I have been contacted as to its where abouts (thank you) and besides, I have a lot of patience. I saw that Naomi signed off as "Naomi the Late", I'll have to sign off as "Degai the Latest"!
  8. I guess I'm signed up! I did get an email about choosing colors-first come, first serve. Unfortunately, I won't be here for the next couple of weeks! I just hope there will be some cool colors from which to chose! If I'm not signed up, I will do it when I get back. Thanks. I'm looking forward to seeing what this is going to be.
  9. After reading about this, I registered, but I could have sworn that I registered for this event about a week ago. However, when I registered then, it didn't mention anything about the registration packets. I hope I didn't goof anything up. Is there a list that can be viewed of everyone that has registered for this event? This will be my first big event and I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Just a few questions if anyone cares to comment: How many coins do you usually bring? What kinds of coins do you bring? How do you carry them around? What do you do at these events? Thanks! Oh, one more thing. . . I wrote this yesterday, but for some reason, it wouldn't allow me to post.
  10. OMG! Your coin describes me to a "T"! Had to have it!
  11. WOW! I love all of these handmade sig items! Everyone is so creative. I love all of the pictures and I love how generous everyone is in sharing their ideas on what to make and how to make them. I have a few sig items that I have found in caches; that's what I usually trade for. I don't find many, though. I hope to have time to make some this summer and if/when I do, I hope some of you will trade with me.
  12. I've been very busy lately, so I haven't had time to post and thank several people who have helped me tremendously! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! All of you have given me great ideas and I am very excited about putting this mission together. Having said that, my mission is just now beginning and it will take me a while to figure out how to put the pieces together. I was very lost in the beginning, but thanks to the wonderful geocachers who responded to my woeful pleas, I have many directions in which to go! I will mention all of your names after I get my mission out. I just don't want to give anyone a heads up on who my mission is going out to-if you know what I mean. To the recipient of this mission, please bear with me as I get this mission together. It may take me a while because I am just beginning my search.[
  13. Your handmade coins look great! Thanks for the wonderful pictures and excellent explanation! Expertly done-very easy to follow. How long does this process take and how many "coins" do you usually get from a mold?
  14. HELP! HELP! HELP! I am so going to fail at this mission! (Not that I want to, but that I am totally lost as to what to do!) I'm miffed! Can someone email me and give me some type of guidance? I would bother Bob, but I've done that too many times already. Any help would be appreciated. Any ideas would be grand! So sorry for my ignorance.
  15. Reverse Souvenir Mission 1.Email sent - yes, May 24, 2008 2. Name received -June 1, 2008 And boy, is it a tough one! 3. Mission sent - 4. Mission arrived- Does anyone know when this mission is supposed to end?
  16. I have never traded for a coin that I didn't like after I got it. In fact, most of the time, I like the coin even better once I have it in my hand. HOWEVER. . . Here's a good mistake I made. I was bidding on a coin on ebay and it was in those last few seconds when things start going haywire. I put in bid for $3500 when I meant $35! It couldn't be retracted because the auction was about to end! So, as you might have guessed, I won the coin. I think I paid $55 for it, which was a lot more than I wanted to pay for it. I was sweating bullets for those last few seconds and praying that the other person didn't want it that badly. I think this was the most I ever spent on a single coin! I was just thankful that it wasn't worse.
  17. Hi Gayle and Mark! I'm so glad the package arrived in tact! So sorry for the delay! Good luck on your round the world trip (HOW LUCKY) If you ever get near the Washington, D.C. area, please let me know! I would be happy to show you around our little town. BTW, I go to Photobucket.com to upload all of my pictures here. If you want any directions, just email me. It took me a long time to figure it out, but I got it eventually.
  18. Hello ScoutingWV! Great to hear from you again. I don't qualify for this cointest because I live in the US and I already have one of these coins. I am associated with scouting through my two sons, one an Eagle Scout with all 3 palms, the other a Webelo Scout. I collect scout related coins because of my sons and because of the wonderful opportunities scouting affords. I really wanted this coin and eventually, ScoutingWV sent me one of his coins out of the kindness and generosity of his heart, even though I had nothing to trade. This just gives you some inkling of the type of person he is (hence this cointest). I wanted to post a note to let others know that not only is this an awesome coin and design, but the person behind this coin is even more so! I love the depth of thought that went into every aspect of the design of his coin. I also like that he explains all the meanings of the coin, which makes it much more "personal" and meaningful to all who receive one. This is truly a special coin for me. Thank you, again, ScoutingWV! Good luck to all of you who live outside the US on getting one of these beautiful coins!
  19. Well, Bob, are you a glutton for punishment or have you lost your mind? The last mission you did was so much fun, so I'm signing up again. . .i.e. following in your footsteps (see above) I'm looking forward to it! Of course it is fraught with anxieties of the unknown and am I smart enough to figure it out! Reverse Souvenir Mission 1. email sent - yes, may 24 2. name received - 3. mission sent - 4. mission arrived
  20. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for you know what, Georgia and Sharon! Also, for those of you playing the Hobbit game; Are you supposed to be able to look at the "cipher" and tell what the keyword is? This is the first time I have ever played any of these games and I don't seem to have any problems decoding the cipher once I get the keyword, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to figure out what the keyword is. The only keyword I figured out was in #4, but the time was up anyway by the time I got it. Any hints on what I am doing wrong? Wow! This is so much fun playing this game. I wish I had played the others, now. Who thinks up all of these games? Whoever does it, KUDOS to them!
  21. WOW, JOHN!!! What a fantastic design and how beautiful your personal coin turned out. Good for you. Like I said before, I am amazed how you have taken the Geocoin World by storm!!! It seems like yesterday you were wondering what geocoins were and now look at you. . .hanging out with all the expert coiners! CONGRATULATIONS on a job well done!
  22. The sale went on the 15 I think any way I got mine today, if you are signed up there you get emails telling you when things are up for sale. Beautiful, It's really a piece of work. USA 45 Thanks USA45. I thought I was on their email list. I got the email about it originally, but I didn't get any information about it this time. Oh well, I hope they will get more in soon.
