  1. Hi all, I've loaded TOPO Canada v4 with DEM to my Oregon 600 but can't get it to display the DEM shading. I've toggled the setting Map>Advanced Setup>Shaded Relief to Auto as well as Show if Available but neither works. I've also adjusted map detail and zoom level with no success. Is anyone else using TOPO Canada v4 and the Oregon 600 and either having the same issue or has it working? I'm out of ideas. Thanks Matt
  2. Yes, one of the them is in fact Ibycus TOPO Canada (4GB). The other is an OSM routable map for Canada (~1GB) and another for the USA (~3.5GB). There is also a KMZ map of Algonquin Park (~300MB). I happened to buy a 32GB SD card for the heck of it as it was cheap thinking I would just load up all the maps I could possibly want and just toggle them on and off as needed. The GPS is speedy enough once it's loaded up, it just takes a bit of time getting to that point. Guess it's normal! Thanks guys!
  3. Hi all, I just purchased an Oregon 600 and loaded it up with several maps. The maps are 4GB, 3GB and 1GB in size plus the built in basemap. The unit probably takes about 30-45 seconds to load up since adding the maps. It takes this amount of time each time it starts up so I imagine it runs a full index each time. The maps are loaded on a 32GB SanDisk Class 10/UHS1 MicroSD card. Can anyone else comment if this is normal and happens with your units as well? Thanks Matt
  4. Hey all, I am in the process of converting my maps to Mac format in order to use Bobcat for Mac. I haven't had a problem converting my City Navigator NT and NT 2009 with Map Converter, but I am now running into an issue with Topo Canada. I am attempting to convert the entire mapset as per the instructions. After a few minutes, the following error message appears on the screen. Garmin Application Error Error Information: App: MapConverter At: 5/9/2008 2:52:29 AM (UTC) OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2 Processor: x86, Processor Level: 6, Processors:1, Model: 14 Stepping: 8, RAM: 523828 DSK_SIGNATURE.CPP-74-2.0.1.0 I can't figure out what the problem is. Anyone else run into this? Thanks, Matt
  5. Fortunately, I did purchase the NT version. Do you know how many map segments the 60cx can hold? Matt
  6. Does anyone know if this situation applies to the 60cx as well. I purchased a 4GB SDHC card with the excitement of being able to load the entire Navigator 2009 and TopoCanada in almost its entirety, however I am receiving a message along the lines of "too many items to transfer." Also, while my 60cx detects that I have 4gb available on the card, MapInstall seems to top out at 2gb. It is truly a shame if we are restricted to only 2gb of maps. Can someone please confirm? Thanks, Matt
  7. Thanks guys, reinstalling the firmware resolved the problem. I appreciate your help. Matt
  8. Hey guys, Ever since I upgraded my firmware on my 60cx to the new version (3.50), the "units" fields on my Trip Computer and Compass page have changed to vertical black rectangles where the units used to be displayed. So, now where it used to read "50m" for example, it now reads like this: 50[] (but the rectangle is filled in black). I tried a hard reset, but that has not resolved the problem. Has anyone else encountered this on their units after updating their firmware? Any recommendations? Thanks, Matt
  9. Hey guys, It turns out it was just my computer. I'm using a Mac running Windows XP in Parallels, so it turns out there is some issue with the software. Maybe in 10 years when Garmin decides to support Mac, all will be good. But in the mean time, I used a Windows PC to transfer the maps, and it worked fine. I appreciate your assistance though!
  10. Hi all, I'm having some trouble transferring maps to my new 60cx. I have been attempting to transfer both TopoCanada and CN8 maps to the GPS, and after transferring about 10mb, I get the blue screen of death, and Windows reboots itself. I don't understand why it's doing this. Prior to purchasing this unit, I was using a 76csx, and had no problems transferring maps to that unit. I am using a 1GB Kingston microSD card, which I have both tried formatting myself with Windows format and an SD card reader, and letting MapSource do the formatting. Either way, same result. Help!!! Please!! I don't know what else to try at this point. Thanks, Matt
