  1. Doesn't look like anyone's going to get this - It's obviously somewhere with volcanoes, so it's unlikely to be Europe. It doesn't look like any African ones either, so then we're probably talking in the Pacific somewhere or Indonesia... that's me out then. No Ideas.
  2. Ok, where is this and what is the cache in the centre of the picture.
  3. That'll be the Qutb Minar in New Delhi, India. Nearest cache is Qutb Complex We were there at the beginning of January this year - had to avoid some transvestites begging for money whilst retrieving it!!!
  4. According to Jeremy, the application has been listed as ready for sale by Apple since Monday. It's a shame it's taking so long, I would really like to use the application this weekend.
  5. Hi there I have a Garmin Oregon and have had a Colorado and use them both with a mac. With both units you can just drop cache gpx files from the website directly on to the unit, so really you don't need to use windows at all. I occasionally use GSAK via parallels to create stats for my profile, but in terms of day to day business I don't need it. There is map software for the mac that allows you to load maps on to the garmin units, but again I use parallels for that as it is a little easier. PM me if you have any direct questions. ZoomLens
  6. After having a quick play with a Garmin Oregon at the Mega Event, I decided that I would quite like one. Coincidently my Colorado decided to break that day meaning that I had to send it back to Garmin. Happily they replaced the Colorado for a brand new one, and I have been able to purchase an Oregon. The new Colorado is therefore up for sale - unused with Garmin TOPO UK maps, and a 512mb SD card to store the maps on. The maps will be activated on the unit before being sent out to purchaser. It is up for sale on Ebay, but if anyone wants to offer me £290 for the lot outside of ebay then It's yours. Ebay auction starts at 8pm tonight for 7 days. Any questions or offers, please message me through my profile or at cparthur@o2.co.uk ZoomLens.
  7. Hmmm Lisa, you seem to know a lot about reviewing and you are a 'girl'... could you be the new reviewer? Chris (MrB) Me thinks the lady doth protest too much....... ... I suspect they're having difficulty in locating the crown for the coronation Mongoose told me that the crown is no more following a firey problem at his home.... could that be why he lost out?
  8. 9. I wonder if you could do one for certain canal routes - like the four counties ring?
  10. I can't see any reason for limiting the number of caches set by one person - I could forsee a time when I would be more interested in setting caches than finding them and this would be a problem. I think that we should ensure the quality of caches, without worring about quantity. The same really applies for density too. And anyway, in the grand scheme of things - so what if it takes a day or two for a cache to be approved?
  11. I've looked at that location on Google Earth, which has a slightly better view. I can see a couple of suitable looking trees, although none of them seem to be by a wall... I suppose they could have built the wall just for the film...
  12. It could easily have been a mystery cache with a description of where to find it. He did get given the name of the town to visit.... I would be quite happy to find some geocash rather than just a normal geocache. Would be a good place to put a cache though...
  13. I have recently watched Shawshank Redemption again and the scene near the end where Morgan Freeman finds a geocache with a load of cash hidden at the bottom of a wall by a big old tree. I wondered whether anyone knew where that was filmed and whether anyone had actually placed a cache there? I have looked up caches called Shawshank Redemption, but none of them seem to be right....
  14. Blimey - I go away for five minutes and look what happens! I'm very sad to hear the news, but can understand that sometimes positions become difficult when rules change. Good luck Dece until some extra help can be found - I'm sure everyone will be patient and understanding over a difficult period. I'm sure we'll all do what we can to make things as easy as possible for you and help out if we are able.
  15. There are also a good number of caches in central Birmingham - easily walkable from Snow HIll or Moor Street. Welcome to Geocaching!
  16. Ahhhh yes. There I go jumping the gun again thinking I knew what I was talking about.... RTFQ!!! might sound odd, but have you tried fleabay?
  17. I think that the problem you will have is not just getting the cds which you can probably get quite easily, but the activations (of which you only get 2 for each set of cds) which may well be used up.
  18. The discussion in the forum is about whether it is possible to deauthorise units legitimately - anything alternative option is deliberately NOT being discussed here....... A little close to the line perhaps, but I don't think over it?
  19. Evidently there IS another way.... not postable on the forums though....
  20. It will allow you to download to other units, but it won't work on them as the embedded code prevents it....
  21. Not quite true - if they sent you a replacement for the original, it's likely that they sent you a code for it which meant that you didn't need to use your second activation. I did use my second activation, so it left me up the creek.
  22. According to Garmin, if you have unlocked the maps for two different units, there is no was to deauthorise them and legitimately put the maps on another unit.... blast.... Here starts the search for other ways to do it... don't really want to shell out another hundred quid
