  1. I agree. It would be nice if it's published as a multi or puzzle, if the final container is at least a "small". I'm really curious about this location. Is it a church or building? Does it open during certain times to the public? A "warden"? Is it a jail? B. I would be more than happy to put one down with Swappables, I love lock boxes and ammo cans, I just get the feeling they wont let me. Ive been in more talks today, but I sense it's going to take a while to get an answer, if they are happy for me to put a larger container down I will. I shall pop a link to the place it is... It won't give away my cache if I manage to put one down http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/netley-abbey/
  2. That's a great idea I didnt think of a Multicache or Puzzle! Thanks for that!
  3. Wow that's dedication! I shall keep going... I get the feeling im going to be sent to ask the warden that patrols it anyway... i just keep getting passed from one person to the next
  4. UK and Ireland Forum https://blog.clothworks.com/ Geocaching Association of Great Britain (GAGB) http://www.gagb.org.uk/ GAGB Land Agreements Database http://www.gagb.org.uk/landagreements.php B. Thank you for this! These links are brilliant!
  5. They haven't exactly given a no they sent me another email address and then the responses stop... so im not quite sure where I should contact. I think it's more there confused about what it is so they don't know what to say. I don't want to give up as I would love to show people this site.... everytime i tell someone about it, they've never heard of it.... It's only been standing for 600 years. maybe I could contact the council instead and ask if I could place one just outside. Thank you for your advise, I shall contact some local cachers.
  6. I Have a local English Heritage site that frequently get's missed by many people as it's very hidden. It is such a beautiful building and I would love to place a micro cache in the bushes around just to attract people to the site, not on the actual building itself. I would presume I would need to get permission to do so as this place is locked up every day and guarded by a warden 24 hours a day. Does anyone know who I can get some answer's from? I am not having much luck contacting english heritage's details on there webiste. They don't seem to know what Geocaching is when I tell them and they just dismiss me. I would really appreciate any advise.
  7. I shall have a look thank you!
  8. I went with some little hand decorated glass beads, made into little bugs. Something a little different, cute for teens and also a little bit different for adults. I will also make some more child friendly trinkets some which aren't made of glass. Hopefully someone will get some joy out of my handmade goodies! Thank you for your ideas!
  9. Thank you for all your brilliant ideas! I'm definitely going to be working on some new swag today! Its got me thinking!
  10. Hi Everyone! I haven't posted on here for a while! I hope your all well! I am hoping this year to cover a lot of Caches around the local area! Instead of buying Swag I was wondering is there anything I could maybe make? Or is there anything you have received that you really liked? I sometimes think a lot of the things in these the caches are getting a little bit naff around our area and it would be nice to up the swag in them Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks Everyone!
  11. oops sorry didn't see your above post wow sounds like you had a busy day!
  12. Thanks for all your help i shall def have a look into this... not necessarily looking into getting the FTF as i know there's lots of people around my area that are like little whippets with new ones . One day i may challenge them, maybe when i have a little more experience under my belt. Thanks guys!
  13. Wow, that's weird, maybe (about labeling it) but was this a stateside cache? If so our FDA has diff regs on stuff like that so perhaps it should be removed. IDK anyone else have an opinion on this? I told my partner when I got home and it turns out in France it's a legal requirement to carry them when driving.
  14. I found a disposable breathalyzer in our cache today... It didn't state what it was I had to google it as it was written in French. It was sealed all brand new. I left it in there. I just found it an unusual bit of swag. Do you think I should label what it is?
  15. I'm looking for some more experienced geocachers to pass a little knowledge on... I have noticed that some people put on new caches that they recieve an alert. How do I turn the alerts on? I have had a nose around, but can't seem to find how. Myself and partners young lad have been cycling a lot recently so it would be great to dash and grab a new one if one pops up. Thank you in advance
  16. I shall first of all start off by saying I'm in the uk. I have no faiths or beliefs. If I saw a pamphlet about religion I would properly just choose to dismiss it. We regularly get people knocking on our doors in This country forcing religion upon you and the pamphlet on you. This I don't like. I like to have the option. If I go geocaching and see it... At least it gives me the choice as to whether I should leave it in or not. Personally I wouldn't put leaflets in... I don't really see a difference between a religion put there pamphlet in and me putting one in for my company, but I wouldn't do that.
  17. Well what rubbish have we found... Mmm back of a mobile phone had to be top of the list! A piece of a game at least I think that's what it was it was a square piece of card with some weird image. Clothes tags It does make me laugh sometimes the things you find its unbelievable that people actually make the effort to take that out to put in ha!
  18. Hi everyone now I'm going to open up now and be prepared for all the criticism I get here... Being a relative newbie myself when I first started I was unsure what kind of things you were supposed to write so I regularly wrote... TFTC. Or found this cache fab hide thank you! I have recently been reading more and more on the website as we love this activity and recently I have been writing more in depth logs... I may write a short one when were out and edit it when I get home. Now having our own cache I see what you mean they make a nice read for the owner of the cache. I will always put more thought into the log and even maybe get the kids to do it from time to time! Apologies all around
  19. I can see it from both sides, I personally have not come across one directly in a park... I suppose if you have kids who love geocaching it would be another story going as a family and the kids looking for it wouldn't be any harm, but on the other hand yes I definitely would not go hunting this one on my own. This would look very suspicious and open up some questions. I suppose if the ignores out weighed the finds it's not worth having there. Surely they Are at a flight risk.
  20. My kids often come home with bouncey balls which they never play with so I pop those in. I also use stickers and cut the sheets up so about 6 -8 stickers go in. I like to teach my kids that if they want something they have to put something of equal value back in. We do see a lot of caches with junk in and it's a shame but fortunately my kids don't really do it for the swag they do it for hunt
  21. Hi everyone I have managed to grab the last spot in the park, within 30 minutes of it being authorised last night someone found it. It is such an incredibly popular park for geocaching no matter what the time. You regularly see groups of people already at the cache when your looking for it yourself, and it kind of ruins the hunt. This was my reason for wishing more could be planted... But I think if this one goes well that is in the park I'll start spreading them out the park and just hope people go to them on there journey.
  22. Hi i am in Southampton where abouts are you we would happily drop some off
  23. Hi Narcissa thank you for you comment, I may have a look into other cache options. These maybe another alternative... if the country park ends up being a no go we may have to place somewhere else. it will be shame as the country park is loved, but there's lots of lovely scenery where we live so im sure i can find somewhere nice. Do you mind if i ask where abouts is the areas around you that are saturated?
  24. Yes it is heavily saturated, but they are some fabulous caches. Thank you for finding the screen shot i was struggling to do this myself. There is 1 spot available which is where we have placed ours, need to zoom in a little on it to see.
