  1. Thanks for the info I can use that page at work.
  2. I'm in Pawling, well really Holmes. Since up here you can do a lot of caches without ever seeing another human. Chances of running in to another cacher is slim. Events/ Group hikes are your best bet.
  3. As a side note I can get the key to the gate at the bottom of the road to all those microwave antenna's. But that will be cheating right?
  4. The cache didn't have the permit or any writting on it.
  5. After heavy negotiations with my significant other. I can go. Brining my son with me (maximum hunter). Worf at 13 is has passed his climming days so he's staying home. Were's the parking for Mt. Beacon? See you then.
  6. There have been a couple of times, that the batteries found in a cache has helped us get to the next one. I just need to find our wher the guy who put's in lithiums in caches caches.
  7. Looks like there is an event down the road.http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=d2489a17-6c7c-4e5a-a617-d107f7faa695 sorry haven't figuered how to paste just the name yet.
  8. I Log them at Work. They also have a great printer here that prints on both sides.
  9. Back when I was pretending to go to collage. I was in the outdoors club so I knew about that campus, but never went there. That area is light on caches. But there is always tubing the Esoupus. See had the thread goes. I'm interested
  10. You might be right. I left in 78. Still have a bunch of family there. I did like the caches that I've done this time. I did some others a few months ago. But growing up I spent most of my time on bay's, inlets, and beaches. Those I think are the things that make LI different from other places.
  11. Born and raised on LI Escaped when I was 18.
  12. I had to work at ISP the last 2 days did a few Cat in the Hat caches that I liked . The bay and beaches are the highlights of LI. The rest of the place is just the Burbs.
  13. We were there last week and did a bunch. It's tough because there is so much other stuff to do. But did get to spend one day on the Mall mostlly caching. Have fun.
  14. Congrats see ya at the cito
  15. I did this Geo Rally in Oklahoma http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...02-af562fea73b4 The sheet of things to look for was to long. It was still a lot of fun Your plan might work better. W'll go
  16. It's about 10 threads down right now. Doc-Dean and us are trying to meet to do the ape cache 14 miles from zip 20009 next week . 20009 is around dupont circle. See ya on the Malll
  17. Thanks everybody hope to see you again at an upcomming cito or other event
  18. I have a 201 as a backup. I started with a yellow etrex. 201 is just a smaller version with Waas. It's accurate, batteries last for a while, and can hookup to a pc. About the 5th time I wound up on the wrong side of a river I got one with a map. If you get more into caching later you can always upgrade.
  19. Were going to be there from the 27th to 1st. I was planning mostly doing the caches around the Mall. But my son(maximum hunter) and I are plannig on going to Arlington one day we could loop up there. But I don't know which day's yet. Sombody is setting up Congress and Whitehouse tours and I don't have dates. E-mail can swap cell #'s
  20. About a year ago I posted the same topic on the Northeast page. I wound up buying the 60cs. Mine has bounced down hills and fell off the dash quite a bit. I like that you can put it your top pocket and it still track sats. Also it gets reception form the passenger seat.(after it falls off the dash) I have a topo map on it from lower Vermont to Delmar. I keep about 1000 waypoints on it. The only problem I have I can't get the usb driver to work on xp so I use the serial cord from my old garmin 38.
  21. The wireless server at the hotel I'm staying at crashed right after I posted this. Thanks for the help.
  22. I was changing my e-mail account and noticed I was listed as an non validated premium member. What the heck does that mean? Thanks Team DEMP for getting me a gmail account.
