  2. Just bumping this back to the top one last time............................
  3. Have you tried to contacting Gilsson to see if they would repair/replace your non-working antenna? If they won't do anything for you, I would NOT purchase another antenna made by them!!! I would purchase an antenna from Garmin directly. It could cost you a bit more to purchase a Garmin antenna, but if you ever had problems with it, Garmin would probably replace the antenna for FREE!!!!!!
  4. Hey boys & girls, I still have the earthmate GPS. If someone is interested in this unit, make me an offer I can't refuse!! OR, trade for??? I have not used it since I made my trip across the US, and I do not see myself using it in the near future, so would like to recycle this peice of electronic gadgetry to someone who will have a use for it!! Thanks, xlobsterman@hotmail.com
  5. OK boys & girls, I would be willing to take $75.00 USD for the Earthmate & Software alone. Or I will trade for?????? I can use the power cables on some other project.
  6. The software is SOLD, pending recipt of payment. Thanks to all who inquired..............
  7. If your interested in Garmin's street mapping software, I have Garmin's city select v7 & the city navigator v8 upgrade for sale in the garage sale forum: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=156181
  8. Thanks to all who inquired, dman2 has taken all of the ink cartridges!
  9. OK boys & girls, I am doing some early spring cleaning, and I am going to sell some "stuff" that I am not using! I have a new unregistered copy of Garmins City Select North America v7 on DVD with the unlock code for full unlock. I received this software bundled with my Garmin GPSV that I purchased last spring from Cabelas. I purchased the GPSV to use on my ATV in the woods here in Nova Scotia, so I have no need for a street mapping software!!! I also have the new update DVD that will upgrade the City Select to City Navigator North America v8. I would like to get $100.00 USD for both DVDs, and I will pay for standard ground shipping! EMAIL: xlobsterman@hotmail.com

  11. Hey Don, you have mail....................
  12. OK boys & girls, I am doing some early spring cleaning, and I am going to sell some "stuff" that I am no longer using! I have an Earthmate serial GPSr (model #TU40-D420-001) I purchased this unit new, and only used it for 12 days on my journey from Southern California to Nova Scotia, Canada a little over 4 years ago. This unit is in perfect condition, it comes with the owners manual/user guide, Delorme's Street Atlas USA v8.0 a 2 CD set, and Delorme's AAA Map 'n' Go v7.0. I also have the optional 12-volt power adapter (item no: AF-001016-000) this will power the Earthmate from your vehicles cigarette lighter, and the laptop Power Adapter Cable (item no: AF-001021-000) this cable will power the Earthmate from your Laptops PS2 port. I originaly paid $139.99 for the Earthmate with the Street Atlas USA software, $19.99 for the AAA Map 'n' Go, software, and $24.99 each for the extra power cables! That's a total of $209.96 plus TAX. I would like to get $100.00 USD for everything. Standard ground shipping included!!!! EMAIL: xlobsterman@hotmail.com
  13. OK boys & girls, I am doing some early spring cleaning, and I am going to recycle some "stuff" that I no longer need! I have 5 HP 51626A BLACK ink cartridges, and 1ea of HP 51629a BLACK, and HP 51649a tri-color. The dates on these have expired, so I am not sure on what the condition of them are??? I no longer need, or have a use for these. If someone wants them, they can have them for FREE........................all you have to do is pay for shipping! EMAIL: xlobsterman@hotmail.com
  14. I first saw the Aquapac at the CES show in LasVegas. I then purchased, & have used an Aquapac for well over 10 years now! I purchased it for my Motorola cell phone that was stored in my Abandon-Ship Bag on my boat. And fortunately.....................I have never had to actually use the phone while it was in the aquapac!!! There are other manufacturers of waterproof bags. They are sold at most marine hardware stores like http://www.westmarine.com I have used these other bags for my handheld VHF, and garmin GPSr, that were also stored in the bag. But, IMO, the Aquapac is a better quality product!!
  15. Hey Stan, there is a company that makes a HH 2-way radio with a mapping GPSr! It is made by Uniden, it is a marine unit, and it uses Magellans mapping software. CLICK HERE for more info on this unit.
  16. Hey Robert, thanks for your opinion........................ I am aware that there is no perfect GPSr, and there are pros & cons with most every unit!!! And like you have already mentioned, Garmins memory cards are a bit pricey!!!!! But I am looking for a unit to upgrade from my GPSV. I need a larger screen, with color mapping. I already have the Topo Canada software for navigating in the woods on my ATV, I will just need to get the Bluechart software for on the water navigation. I have found the Garmin 276c for under $500. bucks, but I have missed out on the promotion Garmin had for a $100. rebate that ended Dec. 31-06.
  17. Hey Steven, I am also looking at the Garmin 276c. I want a color mapping unit to use on my ATV, and my boat. The 276c seems to be a great unit for this, but I am still in research mode, and I am exploring all of my options before I purchase the unit. Anyone else have some input/advice for us?
  18. I was on one of our local ATV rallies last year here in Nova Scotia, CANADA, and our local GSAR members were testing their new Garmin Rhino 530's! I am not sure how they worked for them, but this is the unit they have chosen to use for their S&R missions.
  19. I use the OE Garmin handlebar mount for my Garmin GPSV while riding my ATV in the deep woods of Nova Scotia. Garmin makes a mount for your GPSr; http://shop.garmin.com/accessory.jsp?sku=010%2D10267%2D00 Both mounts are 2 piece, the clamp stays on the bar, and the GPSr just snaps/locks in place when you go for a ride.
  20. Canadians pay more for their maps because they are all distributed through the Canadian GOV, and you are paying royalties to her Majesty "THE QUEEN"
  21. Here is a link to a web-site that has a good comparison chart for Garmins software: http://www.gpscentral.ca/accessories/mapso...differences.htm
  22. I thought it seemed like a good price? I found it at Cabelas for $199.00 USD The Canadian price works out to about $172. USD
  23. Hey gang, is $199.00 CDN a good price for a Magellan eXplorist 500? Our local Canadian Tire stores has this unit on sale this week, and some friends are thinking of buying one.
  24. Hey Renegade, I purchsed a Garmin GPSV earlier this year from cabelas for $199.00. IMO, this seemed like a good price for a mapping unit! The reason I purchsed the V is that I had an older model GPSII that I purchased about 10 years ago for $89.00, I was already familiar with its operation, and I had the mounting bracket on my ATV. Also, I like using an external antenna for better reception in the deep woods here in Nova Scotia. My next GPSr will be a Garmin color unit................
