  1. This is a problem no matter were the coins or bugs are. Some deliberate someby accident or unexperienced cachers. But it happens . I drill travellers. So they have no value on ebay And then if one of my coins go missing i try to see it as a complement that they just couldnt part with it. I have gifted a lot of coins locally so these are not much different. In the end if you cant bear to lose it. Then you should probally keep it. I do hate to lose traveller but its just a coin.
  2. Toilet Paper Geocoin. I remember atread about a coin like this i cant remember if it ever got made.
  3. Maybe she is just not hot anymore She could be a hasbeen now, thats why She is not around.Maybe a Hanna Montana Look at me bug. Or i could be wrong Paris might need the help.
  4. 1700 trackables most in the wild, Do you get messages sent to you when they get moved or logged or is that turned off. That is one email generating machine to have 1700 coins. I also know who to talk to if i need a couple of dead numbers.
  5. I can not even imagine how many coins you have missing Larry.
  6. How about the white album tribute coin Totally blank on both sides Just a tracking number on the edge
  7. I Knew there was a southern more suttal way.
  8. Also when you drill your hole try to pick a spot that is good on both sides of the coin if possible. If not pick the side you like most and drill from that side.
  9. This coin is Incredible I had heard that this was in the works And boy are they Great . Would also like a chance to trade with you when you get your coins.
  10. Here is the coin i designed just for dipping
  11. Are you saying here then that if a round shiny object doesn't have a tracking number than it isn't a geocoin? Are all the cool nontrackables only coins and not geocoins? I only used that picture because its what got me thinking about it this am... I did not say not trackable not a geocoin. 1)First it has to be a coin [ any shape , I know this is another argument round or not.] Then if it 's trackable for sure a Geocoin OR It has to be either 2)a geocacher's personal coin or something personal for a cacher OR 3) The coin theme is caching related-- If you saw a octopus while out caching and you made it into a coin I think its Probably a geocoin Because it that's cachers experience on the coin.Or if a cacher made it as swag then it would be a geocoin. But santa on a humvee with a machine gun Probably just a cool coin not a geocoin unless Rule 2 or 3 apply But the biggest thing is if you like it enjoy it It doesn't have to be a geocoin to be enjoyed .
  12. nice interview and wondering what is in store for 2009
  13. Cant wait to see these new trackable one's
  14. Thanks for the fun Cointest and Congrats to the winner.
  15. I think Atlanta gal summed it up the best. I mean when it started geocoins were not able to be tracked so having a tracking number should not be the only requirement . As for the coin in Question if you like it and keep it great but if it doesnt have a tracking number then its just a coin.
  16. I think that it is the gatherer instinct in us that will always cause coins to go missing. OOOOH shinny and pick it up. Pluse the fact of just the unawareness of newbies . Some will be taken on purpose some by accident. But the prettier the rock the more likely it is to make it off the beach.
  17. Did anybody read this? It was made clear that a policy change did not happen and it was a suggestion. Let me ask this: If it's that important this this coin be talked about, why hasn't anybody opened a new thread to talk about it? Seems like this is more about lighting torches and being martyrs than it is about the coin. The reason a new thread wasn't opened is why this is being discussed . Someone other than the maker/Designer opened a topic on this coin and it was shutdown. I think most of the people here are just trying to understand why?? I dont have any issues with the mods and feel they brave the fires in this forum on a regular basis Quite well. But i think this was a power play or show of power rather than a legite reason to shut down the original thread.
  18. I have to agree with fox and hound and the well spoken way it was said. The original thread should have never been closed. It was a discussion on a new coin stating how much it was liked Also asking who the designer was . a few others made some nice comments on the coin. Then it was stated that it is usually the person responsible for the coin to announce it{ This is a very good idea but not a set Practice} The original poster said that if another thread was started Or the maker had a problem it could be closed. Then a small p@#$%*&ing contest started and the thread was closed. I'm sure coinsandpins would not mind a coin that they have on sale being discussed in a positive matter. The reference in thier profile is only that they do not promote themselves. I mean its a geocoin forum . I sure producers of geocoins have no problem with the discussion of them. The original thread being closed was Wrong.

  20. I too have made a few mistakes . Set wrong coin in a trade once. Asked Joefrog for a trade of his Great coin Twice he told me he had none left and then i saw it again like 6 months later and thought i would love one of those and emailed again. Sorry Joe I just Forgot. And Dont get Me started on the math trades I got some really nice coins out of them But messed up every time . Last one i was in i ended up with 3 crappy cache coins. And Probably missed out on something else nice because i Whooped.

  22. I think i found the shadow box at a Micheal's { Big box hobby and craft store } Was a pin cushion type box Probably for dried flower arrangements or some thing. Wanted something that would sit on my desk so i could see some of my special coins. Tried using just the pins to hold the coins that didn't work. So i bought 1/8 of a inch ridged foam glued thin colored foam to it cut foam to coins, wha la
  23. It is actually glow in the dark foam and the frame is a stand up desk shadow box.. Put foam in it and then cut to the coin shape. Flipped it finally.
