  1. Thanks for sharing this info, I am moving to HK from Aus this month.
  2. why don't you just try first, see you if can live without cable. I think you should be fine.
  3. So how do you enter coordinates w/o a cable? well, there is only up/down bottons, so if you want to move from 1 to 4, you have to press 3 times. I personally don't think this will be too hard, if you only need 1 or 2 waypoints each time.
  4. 12 Month old Garmin 60csx for sale, condition as new, never off road -that's why I am selling Come with 1. Everything from original box 2. Suction/windscreen mount 3. Carry Case 4. Power Cable for use in car 5. City Navigator Australia v7 Map! It has 2 unlock code, so you still can unlock to one extra GPS unit. 6. Tracks 4 Australia Map - for 4X4 driving 7. load over 6300 speed camera locations and school zones POI's 8. Of course, 1g memory card email: leonlu1982@yahoo.com I haven't decided how much to sell, but retail price for this unit in Australia is around 750, and for the whole package above, you need at least 1200. So let me know your offer if you are interested.
  5. In Australia, 60csx, 3-4 meters most of time, the best I got was 2m given that WAAS is not available here.
  6. I have etrex H, not that hard to name a waypoint.
  7. I have 60csx and Etrex H (the little yellow one), I haven't done any outdoor test, but for indoor (in my apartment, near window), the Etrex H can get singal where 60csx can't.
  8. and I do feel etrex H is more sensitive than 60CSX, at least in door. it can get signals when 60csx can't in my apartment.
  9. hi, thanks for all your reply. I think it's time to provide some updated. I just got my Etrex H from ebay ( 84 + shipping 36), because 1. I have got 60CSX, it has all the functions I need. 2. I need a smaller gps for geocaching especially when there are many people around, 60csx is just too easy get attention. 3. Mapping is not important for the last 30m anyway. 4. I believe the newer version of CN map will only has 1 unlock code. 5. Just a small toy for my girlfriend. only 1 issue with H, speed shows at 0 sometime, even you are walking at reasonable speed.
  10. Problem is I am at Australia, and all H series will only be available before Christmas, so I can't really test it (you can't believe how hard it is to find a shop has handheld gps). How every, based on your info, I think I should at least get a Venture HC. (Another reason is, I have to get from ebay if I want now, and the cheaper the GPS, the less risk that I need pay tax to custom). So if anyone in Sydney is reading this, pls let me know if there is any good local shop, or online company is selling garmin handheld unit.
  11. I can see no reason why it would not be as accurate as any of the other H series. However the basic Yellow etrex is a real pain in the butt when it comes to manually inputting waypoints, and naming them. So much so that I would rather have the Venture then the eTrexH, if I couldn't afford one of the other H models. Garmin have too many models now. It's time to drop the models without the pick stick. The Venture should have had an H chip and been made the new Yellow eTrex and the current Yellow etrex should have been discontinued. Hi Gallet thanks for your information. I never used an etrex before, so not sure how painful it will be. I got 60Csx already, the only reason I need one extra is for my girlfriend, so she can at least do something when I am searching. That's why I only concern about accuracy.
  12. Just want to check if any one got etrex H, and would appreciate if you could provide some feedback. such as accuracy, lock speed by comparing with other H units. thanks
  13. I think the other difference between 300 and 310 is that 310 also speak street name which is quite helpful as well. not sure same for 350/360
  14. Since you have got your map already, this may be a bit late, check out this web http://www.gpsoz.com.au You can hire GPS from them (around AUD 10 per day), also you can rent GPS Maps from them as well (not quite sure if it must come with gps unit together or not). Sent a email to them, they usually get back to you within 24hours...
  15. Yes, you can unlock CN8 for your second unit. You should have a unlock code come with your Nuvi. I bought a Nuiv 310 (310 is for Australia, same as 360 I think), 1 week later I exchanged to 60CSX. Since I would like to use my GPS not only for driving but also Geocaching and bushwalking. Baed on my experience, 310 is a great unit for driving, but I find 60csx is good enough for me, since Sydney is not that big comparing with NY, trafic condition is good enough for you to look at screen for direction instruction
  16. And why they include 95% in manul, but not on web? unlike nuvi, same for web and manul-without 95%. Does it mean nuvi is more accurate than csx, at least 5% chance?
  17. Hi, I just find out, on Garmin website www.garmin.com, for both 60csx and 76csx, under specification seciton, it stated as: GPS accuracy: * Position: <10 meters, typical * Velocity: .05 meter/sec steady state DGPS (WAAS) accuracy: * Position: <5 meters, typical * Velocity: .05 meter/sec steady state However, if you look at Manual (You can find PDF manul from Garmin web), for 60csx, it stated as: GPS accuracy: * Position: <10 meters (33 feet) 95%, typical* * Subject to ........ DGPS (WAAS) accuracy: * Position: 3-5 meters(10-16 feet) 95%, typical * Velocity: .05 meter/sec steady state And for 76csx, it stated as: GPS accuracy, Position: <10 metters (49 feet) 95%, typical* (*subject to .......) I would consider it as misleading, if you check nuvi's manual, it's same as web (without 95%), and even worth, on manul, 60csx is 33feet, 76csx is 49feet. any comment?
  18. Hi, this might be a stupid question: I have 60Csx. And I just wondering how could you know how long you used for the battery. Any indicator in the unit I can use or do I have to count by myself everytime when I turn on unit. Thanks.
