  1. With all the problems people are having it may be appropriate to contact their Senior PR Manager
  2. What about the actress Mary Votava AKA smav3719?
  3. The Magellan Explorist series does have a geocaching file that gives some of the info from the cache page (terrain/difficulty rating, last found etc). Since using it I rarely need to use my PDA to reference the cache page.
  4. I wrote to Deb at the State Forest State Park (the owner of the GCWFB6 cache) and she sent me this info: I meet Deb while at the park. She is very excited about geocaching and how it may bring people to the park. She is working to try and get other parks involved and is planing on doing some events there.
  5. VMG is: Velocity Made Good, basically if I understand it correctly, it is the speed at which you are heading for your target.
  6. Thanks for the help, tried it all with no luck. I was even able to reload the FW with no change.
  7. After charging my E600 last night, this morning the screen is completely faded. You can make out some out line but it is mostly white. Any thoughts?
  8. Doesn't seem like a good solution for a GPS, unless it's one of the few that are internally rechargeable. Luckily the E600 does have a rechargeable battery so it fits my needs well, it also charges the Blackberry and PPC. I have been using the USB adapter to charge most things but Solio solar charger does come with a 12v adapter so if the OP was going to use it as he stated, with the DC adapter, it should work OK.
  9. I have one of these that I use with my E600. Seems to work well so far but does take a bit of time to recharge completely.
  10. I just picked up the Solio solar charger. It trickle charged the E 600 overnight. Plus I plugged it in directly to the Solio while on a drive and had the Solio suction-cupped to the sunroof, which worked well.
  11. After a re-re-install of T3D. It is now showing up in the map manager. No need to install maps from the GPS, the entire country map now is there!!
  12. Same as with the 500: see here http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=159108
  13. I have the E600 and really like it. Its pretty much the same unit with few extras. If you like the 200 you should be more than happy with the 500.
  14. I have had no difficulty changing files. One observation I do have since updating: In both my POI folder and geocaching folder I keep subfolders. For example in the geocaching folder I have sub folders for each state I regularly cache in. In the previous firmware if I had the North Seattle file active when I went to change that file to South Seattle it would automatically open to the sub-folder that contained the active file. With the new firmware it opens to the main folder and I need to navigate to the sub-folder. This is also the case with POI folder/sub-folder. While I like not having the active map command hidden in preferences, now there are more steps in changing active files.
  15. I upgraded tonight with no issues with the base map, however I am having issues with the Temp and Barometer. I cant seem to bring up the hidden menus. When I try it with the power on no luck at all. When I try it with the power off I get a screen the says "NAVTEQ all rights reserved" Any thoughts?

  17. Strange I had the same issue last week. Taded out the cable for the one I use for travel and it worked fine. Then last Friday same issue (with the travel cable). Went away for the weekend and plugged it in tonight and it works fine. Not sure whats going on.
  18. I did a re-install of T3D with no change. Also it seems to allow me to add topo's from the GPS but all that appears on the base map is an outline of the map I added, no detail. ????
  19. I am using the T3D as well. Seems strange that it won't load.
  20. Perhaps you can help me with a certain part of this? In the area where it lets you add maps it shows the entire North America direct route. I don’t need to add any additional maps. But I do not see how to add the entire Topo Map? Is this allowed?
  21. Anyone try out the new MapSend Lite v2.0 add-on from Magellan?
  22. Embra is right (as usual) GSAK is the best way. I travel throughout the west on a regular basis and use GSAK to download my PQ’s, sort the caches in groups of 200 and send them to the GPS and PPC. On the GPS I have folders set for each state. It may not be as simple as I stated here but it does work well.
