Yeah, to me that's worse than flat out not logging DNF's....when you deliberately log misleadingly that is when it gets frustrating, especially to an owner and subsequent cachers.
-
DNF's FTW IMO. At any rate... I agree, log DNF's. I am an extremely casual cacher as my numbers will show and have luckily had very few DNF's, but I always log them... What's irritating to me recently is we went to a cache that was in shambles. The container, gone, the log book, gone...yet two people that had visited the cache prior to us logged finds. So, off we go to find the cache....upon arrival, no cache, anywhere... The two people prior to those finds logged for maintenance....hm. Here is the cache: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...fa-122fd344e7de At any rate, I finally contacted the cache owner and they acknowledged it needed replaced and didn't disable it, yet here it sits and because someone goes to the site and finds some remnants of swag plastered to a tree where the cache was they log a find...causing confusion to the cache owner...

One man's trash is another man's treasure...

Nope, they are your caches...publish them when you see fit.

This one is: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...b9-517fe553c76a Owner said he had permission from local postmaster......... Is this a universal "rule" for reviewers or is there local leeway?? In the US, the local postmaster doesn't have the authority to supercede the law that is established, technically.

Cool cache for local playground.

Pay him no attention...he is from Iowa... -
Oh, because they can't stand in the park with their dog or something else to totally blend into the surroundings? I can think of umpteen better ways to blend in for a sexual predator than to be walking around suspiciously with a GPSr looking for an ammo can.

This arguement again? Yep, it's about that time of year. If you don't like them drive on by...no harm, no foul. I could make a thread about "are x location caches approritate?" and there are pros and cons to every location. I have kids. My kids love caches in these areas. These locations aren't going to get banned, so no sense arguing against them as locations for caches.

Hm, wow, guess I wouldn't consider taking precautions against things like tree diseases and invasive insects as common sense precautions. -

At the end of the day the cache owner has final say over the logs as long as they are within the confines of the agreement they sign off on each time they confirm a change. Just have to blow that stuff off and be thankful you aren't that uptight that you need to be that way. -
We always web archive our favorite cache pages after we log them.

A lot of people don't even really consider it. I think the reason it's not in the CITO topics is because it's kind of off topic for CITO, technically. Me personally, I just burn coal. -
The way I look at it even with a hefty ratio of seekers to hiders there seems to be some semblance of balance. And, personally, if people aren't going to maintain caches, place interesting caches and such...better that they just be seekers and not hiders. Me personally, been in the middle of job change in move in the past year. I have a handful I am getting ready to place in my area, but even then...I'll only place what I am willing to manage well and that isn't as many as I've seen on some peoples profiles.

Omg, the owner smurfed your log entries?! -
Good reason to pack heat, imo. I'd of started firing rounds and yelling real loud that people better back off!
-
Imo, burn crosses in the yards of people that visited the cache in the past year. Then, we should report thread topic violators to Homeland Security.
