  1. I have several TBs that have been missing for over a year. It recently occurred to me that I had sent them on their way as a laminated photocopy of the original (several are lackey tags) and still have the original. Is it acceptable to send them out again?
  2. My 2nd Adventure Lab was racking up nice comments from those who enjoyed visiting Redmond, WA to learn about the Art Of Dudley Carter. Right up until it disappeared off the map. The last log was on August 18, 2022. It still shows up in the list of Adventure Labs on my profile page. I appreciate any help in relocating it!
  3. I know I can edit the description fields, and I know NOT to delete locations. But can I swap out a photo after the Lab is live?
  4. I just published my first puzzle cache and had this same question. Can I change the geochecker at this point and if so, how?
  5. I would not be so sure. It is about 35 minutes to the Lagoon from KEF. So there and back is 70 minutes if your transportation is waiting for you at both ends. Then you must buy your ticket and go to the lockers to get changed. When you get out I can assure you that you will want to shower. Figure another 50 minutes total for both ends. You will have to go back through security at KEF (it's not that big so that might not take too long) That really doesn't leave much time to experience the lagoon and at 50 euro minimum I wouldn't want to dip n' dash. We had a car and were there for a week so we could take our time (it actually sleeted while we were bathing, an unusual experience) At any rate I would be very careful setting up transportation. ** I can see that we won't have near enough time to do the Lagoon justice, mores the pity. Does anyone know if there are geocaches within walking distance of the KEF airport, or if it's even an area to be walking in? I'm about as inexperienced a traveler as it gets, but I'd love to find a cache while I'm in Iceland
  6. Is this cache series still in effect? I tried to download the passport and got an error message which made me think maybe not? I took my mom for a ranger-led walk at Lewis Creek Park and he told us about it
  7. I once found a brand new child-sized Seahawk jersey in a Hawk-themed cache near their practice facility. So cool and very generous! I appreciate this thread. As a fairly new cacher this has given me many good ideas for swag. Thanks everyone!
  8. Thanks for posting this question - I was just wondering the same thing! Thanks to this forum my pictures are now posted.
  9. I'm hoping to hide my first cache soon. The information on this thread is really helpful. Thanks everyone!
  10. Then I'll look forward to my first CITO event!
  11. Beyond just for fun I meant. And I just realized that I didn't see it in the DVD after all; it's in the 3rd edition of the Idiot's Guide to Geocaching. They mentioned a 10,000 Fewer Pieces Of Litter challenge that "instructs geocachers to go to a local park or other location and pick up 10 pieces of trash. At the time of this writing the challenge has been completed by more than 5,000 GC aficionados." I just liked the idea.
  12. Thanks G-G, I'm disappointed though. I liked the idea of being part of something for the greater good. Oh well, maybe someday they'll come back
  13. I'm a novice geocacher but completely hooked on the hobby. I got the Complete Guide to Geocaching dvd from the library and watched it last night and it was fun to see how Geocaching began! The dvd mentioned "Challenges" but I can't find a link to them on the website. The dvd was produced in 2004; do they still exist? They mentioned several but the one I remember was a CITO theme. Thanks!
  14. I'm new to geocaching and have been trying to figure out the same thing: phone or handheld GPS? I bought an etrex20 and used it for a week before I decided it was too bulky and since it came with very minimal instructions it was frustrating for a first-time navigator. I decided I'd rather invest in a new phone with app capabilities than have to carry another gadget. Now, if I could only figure out which one... Good luck in your search!
