  1. I have been using the 60CSx since 2006 with my palm TX. I recently downloaded blackstar navigator www.blackstarnavigation.com and paired it with www.Bcaching.com and a verizon wireless BB Pearl (8130). It seems to work pretty well, and although I am still experimenting, I am pretty happy so far. I do have a freedom gpsr keychain as well that I can use or not. The Freedom gpsr keychain is more accurate, but that was expected with any phone gpsr. The best part about this (other than it works) is that the Blackstar and Bcaching are free. The freedom GPS wasn't free but not too expensive. Give it a try. -- Coyot21
  2. Hrrmm, then I don't get it. there is still a difference of 1 cache not showing up in the PQ. I do see the event I attended last summer, but I don't know which one isn't showing up. Oh well. I will try it again next week. Thank you all for you help. -- Coyot21
  3. I bet you were all sitting there trying to see who got in the first reply. Vikinggeek got the "FTR" for this one. Grats! One more question. Does this my finds query also show events or is that separate? Thanks all for the quick replies. I've been doing this for more than a year, you'd think I would have had this one already. -- Coyot21
  4. I am sure this has been discussed. I have been searching the forums for the last hour. no luck. Can someone please point me to the correct method of getting my whopping 91 finds to download in a PQ. I am guessing that the reason not all of them are showing up the way I am doing it is either due to many of them being disabled now, or that some are outside the distance range? I am only getting about 71 or so with the query I have been running. What am I doing wrong? I am planning to load it into GSAK. Thank you anyone who can help.
  5. Hey all, I am still messing around with custom topos for the Spokane, Washington area. I found bathymetric data for most of the lakes in Washinton State, but have been having trouble importing the data into the topo maps. I have been trying with "GPSMapedit" and I just end up with a big mess. Has anyone else tried this yet? The Bathymetric data comes in .shp files like the NHD data, but doesn't seem to work the same at all. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Coyot21
  6. Hey all, After our last go around with custom maps, I created a few topos for my 60CSx and they work fine. I was looking for more data to add including bathymetric data for the area around Spokane, WA. I finally found that and now I see this thread. How much detail do you all use? Has anyone made their maps to include bathymetric data for lakes and coast lines? Oh yeah, I was also able to get training in ArcGIS 1 & 2 (9.2) for free other than the cost of the course materials which I was able to convince my company to pay for. I did find the bathymetric data for all of the Washington State lakes (almost all) if anyone else is interested. Coyot21
  7. I am looking for the underwater data as well. If someone knows where to get it I would appreciate it. Thanks, Coyot21
  8. Hey all, I know I am drudging up this thread again, but I am still looking for lake and water depth data. I have made several maps now and they do work on my 60CSx. I would like to have the depth data for some of the local lakes for fishing outings. I am sure I have missed it, but can someone help me please? Thanks, Coyot21
  9. Ok... That did it. Thank you. I knew I had to be close, but I was missing something. Thank you both for that last push. Now, in GPS Mapedit, the river that goes through the area seems to be the appropriate width. How do I make the one in mapsource show the same way? Currently it is showing as just a line. Thanks again, Coyot21
  10. Thank you. I will PM you as well. Because I kept seeing suggestions to try "Mapset Toolkit," I did. Once I figured out what data to enter where, I was able to run it and it did create the .img, .reg, and .tdb files. It also added the entry to the registry. I did not get the error from mapsource but when I opened up the map in mapsource all I got was an empty box with 3 dots and text stating that the "Map created with http://www.cgpsmapper.com." I will send the PM a little later I think I need a break and am going to go to work for a few hours today. Thanks for your help. Coyot21
  11. Ok I tried those suggestions and no joy. The reason I had them at differen locations was because I have the US Topo saved on one of my hard drives rather than messing with the CD's. It seems to work pretty well, but now I have the current problem. I tried moving them all to the same location but I still get the same error notice from Mapsource. I am using the following as my Test_pv.txt file. Does this help? Thank you, Coyot21
  12. I have to say a big hearty Thank you to all who have worked on this step by step process. I know I am very close to having a complete custom map of the Riverside State Park area of Spokane, Washington, but it isn't quite working. I have been trying for about a week now. I have followed the directions over and over and checked to make sure I haven't missed something and yet somehow I must be missing something. I get all the way to the point where I have altered the regsitry and everything should work, and then I get an error when I try to open Mapsource. It wants me to copy the following log file and send it to Garmin. Does anyone have an idea of what is going wrong? I do have the Mapsource US Topo already installed. The Reg file is I can provide any other data or files I have if someone has the time or notion to get me back on the correct path. I have not found any other custom maps for the Spokane area so I plan to share any I create with anyone who would like them. Thank you in advance. Coyot21
