  1. Dean Koontz book Chris to read on your trip to Disney World (Land?)
  2. To the 501 Gang, Sorry, but I have not a clue as to how your tree got in my reply to Frozen.Buns and Vegas Gamblers!! If no one figured out that I was new to this game, they realize it now for sure. Merry Christmas to everyone, Marilyn
  3. Frozen.Buns, you are an angel!!! Thank you so much for posting my SpongeBob Christmas tree picture. I also have a close-up of the top ornament, which is Patrick. He is my favorite. I have this tree at home now, but it was originally in my tutorial lab at Pearl River Community College. The students loved it!! No surprise there. One of the ornaments at the bottom is SpongeBob with his Christmas list. The bottom name Plankton is scratched through! Too funny. Also, thank you, Vegas Gamblers, for the compliment. I love colorful things, and this is just about the most colorful (if not garish) tree I have ever seen. It's my favorite of all the ones I have which inclue an old silver one, a really tall fake fir one, and a Disney one. This has been a super fun cointest. Plus, I learned about PhotoBucket and especially about how sweet the forum geocachers are!!! Thank you all again. Marilyn
  4. I love hiking and being in the woods. Geocaching gives me a chance to do plenty of that. Plus, the thrill of the hunt!!! I have always loved treasure hunts. The geocaching family is a wonderful bunch! I really enjoy reading the forums. Have had a blast trying to figure out my new GPS. Also, like gadgets. Am now totally addicted to the geocoins and have a collection of 5! There is just so much to enjoy about geocaching. Plus, these cointests are super great fun! Thank you, Marilyn marpomem
  5. hints? i am clueless. have some ideas, but no really good ones that haven't been mentioned already. well, here's one i would like: a NANO geocache container Chris to set up your very own cache
  6. well, hate i missed this one. i thought BYOCC would have been appropriate. at least that is what i thought all country folk did - brought their own corn cob.
  7. I upload them to photobucket.com, send them to me and I will upload them for you. you are an angel! sent the tree just now. hope it works. marilyn
  8. I have tried to click and drag or to copy and paste, yet cannot get my tree pictures on here. Any suggestions? This is Windows Vista, but I have had no problems with it until now! Thanks for any help in this matter. Marilyn P.S. pics are in windows photo gallery and also on my desktop, yet i cannot get them onto here. arghhhh.....
  9. 12-27-07 7 lbs. 6 oz. 22 inches. c'mon, babeee!
  10. if i am being too hoggy, just save me two of each. i don't want to be a glutton about it. either way. thank you, marilyn
  11. I am kicking myself for not catching your e-mail sooner. If you have not closed out, please count me in for 3 of each type maze coin. Thank you so much, Marilyn
  12. Super cute little elf. I am not sure what "mystery coin" means, but I will read forums more often so I can get with it.
  13. super cool picture, cf30. that is close to what i had in mind!!! more burgundy, less orange. more black, less gray. do you know the name of that sunflower in your picture? sorry, to get side-tracked, but i plant some sunflowers every year and really like those.
  14. forgot to say coin color - silver with those burgundy-ish petals and a black center. that is my favorite choice. of course, that combo flower colors would look good on gold or the black nickel, too. why don't you do some of each? or is that too much? anyway, if i have to limit self to one, i will stick with the first choice of silver.
  15. I would like to see one with burgundy-ish petals and a black center. there are so many cool colors of real sunflowers now that you could do many different combinations for the next several years! yours are beautiful.
  16. Beautiful dog in your picture, djS!
  17. I am new to all this, so my best coin story is my only one so far! My son gave me a gorgeous coin that we named Mem's Forest Frog Geocoin. I registered it with his help, but I still am not sure what I did or what that even means! Because of its sentimentality, I will keep this one forever and will have to get another one to put in a cache. All of this is sooooo exciting. I can see how y'all get addicted to the geocaching and everything involved with it.
  18. I am another relatively new to geocaching and very new to the forums. joranda has the best sense of humor with the frog "audience" awaiting the next part of the drama. mrbeachroach, i personally think you had a good, fun idea here. You are to be applauded for handling the entire thing like you did and coming to a marvelous compromise to make everyone happy. I love the way the whole thing is ending and would have loved to send you a coin except that I only have one to my name. I just won one on e-bay, though, and have some bids on others. This whole thing is a great learning process, and I just hope we can all keep on being kind. Heck, I am so pitiful, I can't even get my new gps going properly! Good night to everyone!! I can't wait to see who wins.
  19. Just about the craziest Christmas we had was also the one when we owned the most pets we've ever had at one time: 5 boxers (Bruiser being the culprit in this story) and 1 white "momma" cat Snow and her 3 white kittens (Rice, Sugar, and Salt). We had put our Christmas tree up, and I woke up the next morning to all the kittens climbing around on the inner part of the branches closest to the trunk. Momma was sitting to the side just watching her babies having fun swatting at ornaments. It was super cute - the contrast of white kittens in a dark green fir tree - until the ornaments started flying and shattered all over the concrete floor of our den. To add to the whole fiasco, one of my boxers decided he was tired of the cat noisiness so he leaped at the tree. Of course, he knocked it down, breaking the top section off as it went down. More ornaments broken and a severly mishapen tree for Christmas day! No animals were injured in this stunt, but it did cause quite a bit of commotion among family members gathering up kittens and calming down all the dogs. It was funny only after we realized all animals were okay and the tree was rather salvageable! Years later, now it is a hilarious memory!!
  20. This is an awesome recipe that I only make for holidays because it is white like snow, but it could be made for any gathering. It is simple, easy, and everyone so far over many years has loved it. Sometimes I think the name of it is what catches people's interest, and I'll tell them how it is made in a new garbage bag and it is white! They'll get the pun, try the snack, and be hooked. WHITE TRASH 16 oz. box of Golden Grahams cereal 15 oz. box of raisins 11.5 oz. can of mixed nuts 1 stick of butter 2 cups creamy peanut butter (a 17 or 18 oz. jar) 1-3/4 cups milk chocolate chips (an 11.5 or 12 oz bag) 1 box confectioners' sugar (sometimes takes a box and a half) Mix all dry ingredients (cereal, raisins, and nuts) except confectioners' sugar. Put this in a large plastic bag (unscented garbage bag!) and toss together to mix up. Melt butter, peanut butter, and chips in a double-boiler just until melted and mixed together. Pour over the dry ingredients. Mix well. Holding top of bag closed, toss around until all dry ingredients are coated. It will be a globby mess at this stage! Pour the box of confectioners' sugar over all and toss around some more to coat all pieces. May need another half of a box. Should be individual pieces and each coated white like snow! Freezes well and can be eaten straight from freezer. marpomem
