  1. ...don't have Geocaches? There are 192 countries in the world (today), and 177 have caches. Me being too lazy to compare these long lists, I was wondering if anyone knew which 15 countries are sans cache.
  2. Ack! It WAS 12.8, but someone placed one the other day 1 mile away. /me considers cache-hunting at night. /me reconsiders. I'll hit it up tomorrow.
  3. Ah! Compass calibration had been borked somehow. I recalibrated it and it's working fine now. Well almost. It still says "hold level" even when it's perfectly flat, but at least it works! Thanks for your thoughts.
  4. Yeah, what's weird is that the compass is definitely working - on the map page, the location arrow rotates as I turn the unit (or the map rotates, if it's set to Track Up). But the N-S-E-W markers don't even show up on the compass page. The arrow shows up when I have a point selected, but it doesn't reorient unless I'm going above the compass/GPS direction threshold. And of course, "hold level" is perpetually displayed. Maybe I need to do a hard reset. I just backed everything up last night.
  5. I didn't see this problem mentioned among the other threads about the eTrex Vista compasses and firmware, so: Prior to the 3.xx upgrades my compass worked fine. If the unit wasn't level, it would say "hold level", but the arrow would be there and it would move around as the unit was tilted. Like a real compass. But since upgrading from 2.50 to 3.xx, the arrow doesn't show up at all and the thing seems stuck on "hold level", even when sitting flat on a table. Any thoughts? Anyone else had this problem?
