  1. Jaxon (my dog's name)....we call him Jax Tip: Buy a crate and use it like an indoor dog house. Makes house training a breeze.
  2. Year 1977 Make Pontiac Model Firebird Trans Am Body Style T-Top (of course)
  3. Name: D'Artagnan "D'Ar" or "D'Art" for short. It's a serious name, for a serious dog. Tip: Even the best trained pups can be unpredictable...always use a leash!
  4. Q-Tip.....love it. Congrats to the winners.
  5. It is a very nice looking coin. Congrats to the recipients!
  6. Congrats! And thanks for the cointest!
  7. Our first find was in July 2006. I bought a GPS to use on the lake with topo maps and also got a mapping version so I could use it in the car. I have zero sense of direction, so I would rarely venture out into unknown cities and such. One of the other functions that the GPS had was "geocaching". So, I tried it out and was pretty enthusiastic about it, but didn't know how to enter the caches electronically. I didn't do much geocaching for almost a year, and then I learned that I could dump 100's of geocaches to the GPS as once. At that point, it was game on! I've been hooked ever since. I'm kicking myself that I didn't get involved in caching earlier, b/c I did quite a bit of traveling to different countries for work and would have loved to log caches in each of them. Now, geocaching has become almost a daily event and I've even gotten my mom hooked. There's just so many levels to it: searching for caches, geocoin tracking and collection, pathtags, TB's, placing caches, and the various cache types. It's quite addictive!
  8. This has got to be a joke. If not, it's time for somebody to leave this Earth. Probably just a flamer trying to stir up drama.
  9. It's not April 1 yet, is it? Strange.
  10. I'm in agreement with pghlooking on this. If a released coin is stolen, then by all means, recycle the # on a copy. I don't think starting with a copy is legit. Just buy some cheapies and set them free. I do agree with contacting the owner if you find a copy that's not identified as a copy. I recently had a log that said, "I found this lame fake coin somewhere". I asked the guy what he meant by that, but he never replied. Someone grabbed it in Nov, but they haven't replied to my inquiries either.
  11. 1. Dance with my daughter at her wedding (she's 10). 2. Go to Normandy and do a tour of Europe (I'm a WWII buff) 3. Get beat by my kids at golf. 4. Get outfished by my son (or daughter ). 5. Buy a fast car once the kids are out of school.
  12. Garmin all the way. THe Magellan I've used was not user friendly. Navigating through menus was not logical. A lot of the geocaching software programs that I am familiar with did not support the Magellan. Probably a different story with the newer Magellans, I don't know. I love my Garmin 76csx, but I bought it for fishing. Ironically, geocaching is about all I do with it now!
  13. I have the coinsandpins version (100, 250 and 500 Finds) and they are very nice! From what I can tell, they don't engrave them, but there is a spot on the back for engraving whatever you want. No room for a life story, but you could certainly put your caching name and the cache GC# without a problem.
  14. awesome! I hope that you guys had a great Christmas. We had fun....got a few new coins as well.
  15. 1: My grandfather owned a camp in Nova Scotia. Too bad he sold it before he died. 2: Knock Knock! Who's there? Thermos. Thermos who? Thermos be a better knock knock joke than this! Edited after I reread the directions.
  16. 70?? Maybe taken already.....all the "good" numbers seem to be guessed already. Who knows?
  17. Great looking coins. Back in my youth, I used to ride a bike just about everywhere I went. I had several close calls, but luckily never got hurt. I had my elbow and pedals grazed more than once by cars passing me...luckily at low speed...and got run into the ditch more than once. That was back in the '80's, before cell phones. It's a lot more dangerous on the road these days!
  18. Of course I had to order a few....I'll just consider them a late Christmas present.
  19. I love pathtags, especially if I find them in a cache or get them personally from a cacher. I'll be having some of my own made soon enough....darn house needs to sell first!
  20. Congrats to all the new recipients. Very cool indeed and a monster case of luvin someone had to do this!!
