  1. Im 17. However most people are suprised to meet me and discover that im not all that old.
  2. I just use simple HTML changes to font and font color. I just type it up in MS FrontPage and paste to the description. It hasnt caused problems and is something alittle different that black and white. I leave the major HTMLing (<--is that a word?) for my web site.
  3. Its not that big of deal to me. They arent hurting us, just themselves.
  4. If you do this then whats the point of this sport? Geocaching....a sport not about the numbers.
  5. This a color MS Word version of Indiana Cojones note: Color Parking Note I made this because I dont like plain and drab so I added a color Groundspeak logo. I have several laminated color notes like this one that are multicache stages that are outside exposed to everything and havent had problems yet after a year. Edit: oh shoot that didnt work. i guess thats what you get when you are a free tripod member.
  6. Ok lets see some upinyachit maturity: Oops, that wasnt it.
  7. I also have one of these stickers, but I have yet to put it on tthe back of my car. Sorry for the poor quality the picture isnt mine. Heres the text: Caution! Driver May Be Geocaching! Geocaching.com The Sport Where You Are The Search Engine!
  8. My bad guys it was late and I was tired when I posted my last message and butchered the URL's. Here ya go: G.C. Forums..... They are a joke!!! This is his anti- Jeremy, admin, mods, us attack. The other link was to a post over someones signature line but anyway the point was that he said: And he is definitely alive and kicking over there.
  9. I ocassionally read the navicache forums for kicks when a new message is posted every six months and how its all about the money, lets see them try to run GC.com for free but anyway regarding the poster in person. I notice many of you switch between boards so you guys already know what kind of person upinyachit is over there. So here a few links to his post over that show his tur feelings about Jeremy, admins, us, and these forums. Bad MouthingGc.com Here he says he will never come bak to Navicache again because of someones signature, but he has definitely been back since this post. You dont have to register with navi to see these posts either. So see for yourselfs. And you admins, Keep Up The Good Work!!!!!!
  10. I submitted two caches for approval today and in about an hour Mtn-man ahd approved both of them. ~Erik~ also has good turn around time. Keep up the good work you guys!
  11. I would not put my cell number for obvious reasons. But given the fact that I cache with a Garmin RINO I always have my FRS on Channel 2. So good idea Sax. However when I go backpacking with friends and we drop off a car we leave a note along these lines: Three hikers parked this car here on Sat Feb. 7, 2004 and are hiking to Rock Gap and will return for this car on Mon Feb 9, 2004. If this car is has not been picked up by Tues Feb 10 please call (Home Phone #) and local sheriffs department. We can be reached at (cell number). I like the idea of using a one of these notes because I normally cache alone and I am a 17 year white male, and for a muggle may know I can be up to anything. So im gunna fiddle with this and make me some type of parking note.
  12. I leave WAAS turned on and can get some nice accuracies. I have gotten 7-8 ft acc on clear days. I havent yet turned WAAS off on my GPS to see how it does. But it doenst seem to make that much of a difference in treecover WAAS isnt all that helpful, so your just fine without.
  13. Yeah that seem to be the only downfall. Maybe only these images could be allowed in sig lines.
  14. A new little feature was made public some time last night but almost no one knows about it. Seeing that no one has said too much about, figured might be good to spread the word. We now have stats banners! Signal Stats and Icon Stats And that mysterious third one . They made their first GC.com appearance on this thread this afternoon, but weve been fiddling with them all morning on another board. They now can be seen on webpages such as this one. And for redunancy have been put on a GC.com profile or two, like mine. Hey I just like the frog! See Jeremy really is changing and adding to the site, hes just practing gradualism.
  15. These started popping us this morning. According to an off site forum they were unveiled last night. I like them! Signal Stats and this one: Icon Stats
  16. And if you dont see it for whatever reason. How in the world could you forget the zipcode king?!? USPS Its fairly ccommon knowledge that the people who do our mail can probably provide us with a list of Zip codes.
  17. <rant> What is with you people and seeing how many rules you can make for caching?!?!? Auto-archiving has probably been one of the worst requests for the site. As stated before it cause geo-litter and can take out ssome good caches. If you go to a cache and you see thats it damaged wet dont archive it, email the owner or fix it yourself. We are a community, just because one person doenst do their job doenst mean restrict us all. We can just pick up the slack. If the cache is in bad shape and you cant get in touch with the owner just adopt it! Its simple process and just repair the container. Seems you been frequenting damaged caches carry a repair kit with say, a ziploc bag or two, a pen and logbook. This would add maybe 2-3 ounces in your pack and would prevent dumb suggestions like this. As I said in another post, "Why does seem like some cachers want to take a simple thing and go screw it up?"! </rant>
  18. Nope, dont want it either. The numbers really are worthless take for example me. There are 40 caches 40 miles from me 10 of those caches are mine. So I have to drive at least an hour for a cache compared to say someone in LA or Atlanta were there over 400 in 40 miles. The list would be also become lopsided because instead of doing real caches to get number there would be an upsurge of people finding locationless caches so most people would have the bogus Locationless Cache finds not and not real caches finds. And what is it with the recent onslaught of new rules and such scoreboards? What happend to the good old days of simple caching? Seems like many cachers just want to take a good thing and see if they all go and screw it up!
  19. I know they are there, I just cant get to the other pages full of topics, all i see is page one and no other means to get to page two thru whatever.
  20. Ive noticed that in certain forums such as "The Hunt/The Unusual" that it only displays one page of topics and doesnt allow me to go back and see older pages of topics. This has only happened in a few forums. It works one this forum. Whats the deal? Or do I have something set wrong?
  21. I noticed a lot of people use both. Some GA cachers also have caches there and at looking at their boards I noticed familiar names. However if you look at there board stats you can see how small their site is.
  22. Check with garmin and magellan (sp). Most people use one of these two companies. I would recommend the Garmin eTrex line because it has beginner GPS to Advandced gps'. Im sure other people can follow up with better recommendations.
  23. Does anyone know if RandMcnalley StreetFinder has a way to important waypoints? All attempts to contact RM tech support have failed so was wondering if anyone knew. Happy Hunting -Amazingracer If war protesters don't believe in violence what would they do if we punched them in the nose?
  24. I just notice from the "new caches in the last 24 hrs" on the home page that Number 100,000 has come and gone. Anybody know which cache got number 100k? Happy Hunting -Amazingracer If war protesters don't believe in violence what would they do if we punched them in the nose?
  25. Jeremy what if you guys changed the cache icons on the map to old icons? I dont know if that would work or what ever but that wouldve seen more logical than change the main icons to the map iconns, IMHO. Happy Hunting -Amazingracer If war protesters don't believe in violence what would they do if we punched them in the nose?
