    Help For Mac

is it possible for some of the geocaching forms to be updated with directions for mac. I use both pc and mac, somtimes this leads to me calling my wife and getting help. to drop TBs I just hold control and click,I tried this on the mac and nothing happened. the wife comes in and says " you have to use open apple instead". Well that would have been easier if I had known.
  2. Do uber cachers lie? YES Anothyer cacher and myself logged a dnf for a cache because we could not find it. we found the spot where a cache would have been, so we e-mail the owner for a hint in case we were wrong. the next day two uber cachers could not find and e-mail the owner and said " found where cache should have been " and logged it as a find. WHAT KINDA BULL IS THAT? by the way the cache was missing and the owner had to replace it.
  3. I recently started using a summit equipment leg pack system. it consists of two small packs that are on a waist belt and strap around your thighs it was designed for heavy woodlandand brush. it also allows for wearing a pack for longer hikes and trips.
  4. In 2004 I came across some large cat tracks (about 4 inches across the pad, 100-150 pound cat) in southern lancaster county. took pics and sent them to the game commission and never recieved a reply. Followed the tracks( yes I had firearms with me and can track) for about 600 yards and found the remains of a large hare. light started to fade so back to the car before dark.
  5. Only problem I ever had other than coming accross some rainbow people in the middle of the trail worshiping the sun god(hippies sunbathing)was when I got back to the trailhead and my car was surrounded by broken glass and everything insidethat wasn't nailed down was gone. most crimes in parks and wilderness areas are because someone knows your going to be away from your vehicle for awhile and it's an esy smash and grab.
  6. We got a new approver in southeast PA recently and I feel that cache quality has gone done since the new approver took over. Okay I'm alittle mad they didn't contact me about my cache that they archived, but Iknow of a cache that was approved in an area were caching is no allowed and today I found a cache that was .70 mile off from the posted coordinates. these are just three instances that I know of I'm sure that there are more out there. I could see some of these as getting up to speed as the approver for this area but if you're not sure of something ask for help. and as for the line "could you do a better job ?", possibly who knows? that's my rant P.S. BRING BACK MISSPLACED
  7. For enough money I could provide a map,so you would never even see any boobytraps.
  8. Bushwhackin' Schmo and I did a cache where we had to cross downstream from where some effluent overflow was entering the stream. Luckily there was lots of snow to wash any tiny bits that got on the boots off. we took the long way back to the car. gives new meaning to the phrase "shootin' the s***".
  9. how about a fat outa shape division? Then I might be interested
  10. Bushwhackin' schmo ( yeah the crazy guy from all the events) has sired a new cacher. a boy born on the ninth, daytripper and schmo have named him luke. Congrats mike.
  11. You also have to consider that the trail may be closed for wildlife reasons. many trails that I have been on in florida are closed during the rut and brood seasons of alligators. you don't want a mad momma gator protecting her nest to appear out of the reeds a few feet from the trail.
  12. I noticed that a lot of resposes to this thread were about price. How much would the actual savings be? If it's really importtant about being cheaper why get them made at all? It is this mentality that is also why so many people are living at the poverty level or below in the USA. plants can't stay open if everybody buys the cheap foreign made goods.
  13. Pet I.D. tube in the woods screwed to an abandoned stucture. so far about six cachers have found this stage of a multi I have hidden.
  14. The valley forge state forest is made up of three large tracts and several smaller ares in southeast PA. The person to contact at washington crossing park is Dave (dadgum i forget his last name). When i rescued a cache in the park I tried to get permission for a rehide but just got tired of making phone calls.
  15. thanks keysone, It may just be that the valley forge state forest is all "natural area".
  16. I remember that dog from the "free puupies" sign right next to chernobyl.
  17. If it is state forest land they have a obligation to protect all natural areas. I was told by a forest ranger that all state forests were natural areas and therefore geocaches were not allowed. that being said contact the managing ranger and see if that was just an excuse to keep caches out of the area that I was interested in. good luck
  18. Sister-in-law sick stop trip to poughkeepsie off stop possibly next week stop
  19. I'll be caching in poughkeepsie on the 15th of oct, while my wife is hanging with her sister. I'm usually in the area about 7 or 8 am, caching or hiking before we arrive at their house, after that the day is free anyone interested e-mail me. P.S. on the 16th I'll be going to sleepy hollow cemetary for a cache and few in that area on the way home.
  20. Look up the sepag site thru the events page or look up " storming the castleII " on my profile to link to the site. You live right around the corner from several of our members, so getting help should be no problem
  21. AllI'll tell you is that when I'm looking at the cache my friends with etrexs' are still looking at their gps units
  22. I drew a crooked line many times
  23. There was a story about my hometown that was total bull on shadowlands, when I brought this to their attention it was removed promptly. I think they only go by submission and not their own research, but some of the things I've read there are among the local lengends that I greww up with.
  24. YO, nothing but complaints about GW3 from [people] that were just not brave enough to do it themselves. as someone who knows the principals involved with GW3 i think that before you open your mouth or keyboard you better think about the planning and coordinating an event of this magnitide. You can cry to your momma, but unless you propose to host a future GW event just keep your mouth shut! Yeah I know I'll probably be censored for this but so what. I know that the fed and paint and the rest of the NEFGA crew did their best to bring you an event that noone else could attempt to host because of their brother hood in geocaching. To the NEFGA crew Even though I didn't attend just from the debates here I give you respect and admiration. good luck in future endevoers {Edited by moderator for language}
