  1. I opened the GPX file in Word. Man this is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not quite sure what I'm looking for though. Can you give me an idea?
  2. Well when I look at the GPS file (Which I receive every day) in GPX Sonar on my PPC, the icons don't show up. Since I am not using EasyGPS for this purpose, I don't think this is the problem. Rather a bit of a puzzle....
  3. Well it's the same GPX file I have been receiving since January of this year. I have changed nothing since that time.
  4. I noticed the other day that GSAK asked to convert my new GPX file for some reason or other. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time, but now when I access the GPX files in GPX Sonar (2002) my icons for Difficulty and Terrain don't show up. Anyone else notice this or know if changes were made to the GPX files? Thanks...
  5. Sounds good to me. I think it's a great idea...
  6. Man what a sad day it is in the Canadian Forum. It really makes me sad to see this thread become so gutterlike. I read nowhere where the approver was disrepectful, called you a liar and so forth. If he did indeed write this, then show us, but somehow I doubt he did. Furthermore, I may be the person that is being spoken about that has over 300 caches. I think I have around 320 now. I do have a few that need maintenance, but I am out there each week checking a few here and there and over the course of 6 months I check them all. Personally I drive over 7000km a month for my work and it takes me to all points in this province. Personally I think this thread should be shut down immediately. this is not the way Geocaching should be. It's a game people, have we all forgotten that???????????
  7. I have a 60C with all the maps loaded, but I can't seem to find where one county starts and ends. Is this possible?
  8. You know something? Murphy's Law is alive and well. I logged on this morning and had a chuckle about your antenna. I mean I felt for ya, but you gotta admit it was funny, right? Well this afternoon I looked at my brand new Yaesu VX-150 ham radio and noticed my cat had a good chew on my antenna. Teaches me right to have a good chucle at somenoe else's bad luck!!!!
  9. Are you holding a funeral for the dog? How about the GPS?
  10. I found something today and wonder if someone can tell me if this is a new feature. I was looking for a restaurant in a city and normally it would have listed all the restaurants, for example, McDonalds, in a long list. Searching today however, it said "McDonalds 14 matches found" and clicked Enter showed all the different spots. Was this there all along and I did not notice it or was it somehting they added to the 3.41 Beta?
  11. Changes made from version 3.30 to 3.41: Improved track log recording in Auto mode. Increased the size of the compass pointer on the Compass page. Enabled the compass pointer to be shown while navigating a Follow Road route. Added a progress indicator when calculating a Follow Road route. Increased the precision of the project waypoint distance field. Added the ability to independently show or hide entire map families on the Map Setup page. Added meters per second as an option for vertical speed units. Added Greek language.
  12. Ham Radio, or Amateur Radio is basically like CB, but they use different frequencies and power in order to reach long distance, including right around the globe. In order to transmit using a ham radio, you must first pass a test in order to get your license. Something I find very interesting is the ability to connect your GPS to some radios and transmit your position to a website. I find this useful and safe simply because I do most of my hiking alone. I could call someone for help and transmit my position if anything went wrong.
  13. I tend to disagree. Being in law enforcement myself, the onus on fixing the problem lies on my shoulders. I very often have to lean over backwards to TRY and come up with a solution so that both parties can agree on something to fix the problem. Personally, from reading this post and th other one, I think TPTB shouold step in here. Jeremy has not mentioned anything (unless I missed it) and I really think he should give his 2 cents here.
  14. So everytime someone enters a new cache, the approvers have to look up where they live in their profile and check how far they live from the new cache? BTW, I do not live in Bathurst. Yeah, I know it says that on my profile, but I don't live there....
  15. And just praytell how do you know where he lives????????????
  16. Is there anyone out there who Geocaches and uses a HAM RAdio in NB? I just passed my test and am anxiously awaiting my radio.
  17. I have seen where my first cache is approved before I finish entering my second cache. The guys who approve are amazing.....
  18. The one I bought is a wy-sys I think is the name. Some company out of Ottawa.
  19. I just received my external antenna from GPS Central.ca and so far it works great! 2 questions about this though: 1. When I look at my satellite page, the signals go higher than the top line. Is this normal? 2. Why the heck don't they build such a sensetive antenna into the GPS in the first place?
  20. I'm anxious to see this one as well! Fabien, are we any closer to this great tool for us poor folk who can't afford the new 2003 machines?
  21. Does anyone know when we will get GMRS in Canada?
  22. I like to save the tracks of my hikes. Currently I can only save the whole track, including the drive to and from my house, several areas I may have hiked during the day etc. Can I edit the track file to select only the areas I hiked and save them in individual files?
  23. I could not agree more! Thanks guys!!!!
