  1. I have this idea for a multi cache and would love to get feedback and any ideas you may have on how to create this. This cache would have several "paths" leading to the same destination. Ideally I would like to setup 12 seperate paths, but for the sake of this message, lets say I create 3 paths. A, B and C. I would like to built some small electronic devices that would have a timer and a screen. I would plant one at the start of my cache and have it display the location of the next device, which would lead you down Path "A". Here's where it gets interesting. At Midnight, the timers in the first spot would change the coordinates to Path "B". The timers in Path "A" would turn off and Path "B" would all turn on. At midnight the whole process would change again to shut down "B" and open "C". At the end of "C" it would revert back to "A" and start the process all over. I would like to make this a very difficult cache and because the Path would change each day, a person would HAVE to finish it that day. If the cacher came back the next day to the last location, the screen would be blank because that Path is not active on that day and the cacher would have to start all over. Now, I would have NO idea how to create the electronic devices needed to complete this cache. What do you guys think?
  2. Since I have so many caches, it may take me a while to repair some of them. I moved a few months ago and don't frequent my old hometown as often as I would like. Problen is that if someone searched for a cache, found it in need of repair, or completly gone, I get a log saying so, however we get so much snow here that I might have to wait months before fixing this cache up. I think it would be a great idea to have a "Needs repair" selection when entering a cache log. I could then easily run a PQ and know at a glance which cache needs repair, even if it is months down the line when the snow melts. Jeremy, any thoughts on this??
  3. Can I create a cache query to show which of my caches require maintenance?
  4. Exactly what I was trying to do! Thanks so much!!!
  5. I was trying to create a query so I could have it on my Pocket PC. Is this possible?
  6. How do I create a locationless cache query? Since I live in Canada, running a query only brings up 1 cache.
  7. Anything like this available for Canada?
  8. I noticed one small thing and wonder if this is just with my machine. If I enter one of my own caches under my stuff, the coordinates drop the leading zero. If I enter 65 04.661 and save it, when I reopen, I get 65 4.661. I always forget if th zero is in front or at the end. Anyone see this?
  9. I was told that one of my TB's is missing in action. I am trying to grab it so that people don't look for it in a cache. I do not have the Tracking # that is stamped on the TB. Is there a way I can get this?
  10. Sure! please send it to nb_geocacher@hotmail.com Thanks!

    Wap Site

I always thought WAp stod for Web Enabled Phone, but I gues the letters don't match up. Basically it's a web site designed to be accessed on a digital cell phone when operated in a digital zone. Works great for looking up hints on that cache you can't find and forgot the description sheet in the car!

  18. Hmmmm, the city of Karlsruhe says something to me. I visited Germany in 2001 and it may have been a spot we stopped at. I agree with what the others say here. run a pocket query for each province you will be driving through and import that data into Streets and trips. It will show you a nice map that you can zoom in on and see exactly where those caches are hidden. Welcome to Canada and I hope you have a wonderful trip! If you plan on passing through northern New Brunswick, drop me a line and maybe we can get together for a few hours of caching! It will give me a chance to practice my VERY limited German as well!
  19. I have noticed the website seems very slow on the weekends and even today. (Monday) With the increase in people playing the game, logging finds and new caches it seem that the server just can't keep up. (Maybe you need a new mouse on the wheel?) I have NO knowledge of how such things work, how to upgrade or how much it would cost, but is this not getting to be a serious problem? Are there any plans to upgrade the server at some point? Happy Geocaching everyone!
  20. Any idea how much the version is with the included GPS unit?
