E eu, se me mudasse para outro país, procuraria no mínimo usar sua língua em meus logs, mesmo que usando o inglês junto, já que não estou só de passagem... Se observarmos estatísticas, e tivermos no máximo 2 caches de um mesmo proprietário nesse grupo, pode-se ver uma tendência... Isso mostra que o que possa acontecer por aqui, acontece no país sede do jogo, e muito provavelmente em tua terra natal também. Se alguém vai fazer ou deixar de fazer, o problema transcende a você. Isso é com cada cacher e a estrutura de controle do jogo. Sabe a melhor forma de ensinar? Não é bater no peito e dizer eu sou o bom, e vocês não sabem nada. Dê o exemplo, fazendo caches excepcionalmente bons, escritos em bom português junto com o inglês. Deixe os outros cachers com vontade de fazer algo tão bom quanto você faz. Quem é bom de verdade não precisa falar, os outros percebem, e buscam aprender com ele. O problema do Brasil não foram os degredados que pra cá vieram no começo (como também não foi na Austrália). Foram os colonialistas com a cultura do viver de rendas ao invés de por a mão na massa e realmente trabalhar. Felizmente vieram também portugueses trabalhadores, além de muitos outros imigrantes de outras nações da Europa e do mundo todo, o que tem ajudado a minorar o estrago. Mas isso já é outra história. Talvez se você evitasse esse comportamento colonialista e ar de superioridade que transpira em todos teus escritos, conseguisse atingir teu objetivo de elevar o nivel do geocaching não só no Brasil mas no mundo, e ainda acabaria fazendo preciosas amizades... Funny that I've just arrived from Chicago, and after finding almost 20 caches, none of them had any identification outside that linked them with geocaching, and inside only five or six had... Maybe I've gone to the wrong country. But wait, the headquarters of this game isn't in USA, and neither the americans strictly follow all the rules?!?!?!?!?!

I think is part of the problem, unlike Portugal or the United States, there are not many cache to find (and the distance you need travel to find caches is great). It is understandable that you would like cache owners to maintain their caches so when you do travel you have something to find. It also seems, from the previous threads you've started, that some Brazilians have tackled this problem a different way - either leaving a throwdown when the don't find cache, or posting a photo to prove they traveled from Sao Paulo to the Amazon to find cache. You are not going to change Brazilian attitudes overnight, nor are you going to change them by yourself. As the saying goes you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I would suggest instead of doing things that antagonize people you get friendly with some of them. Explain to people why it would be better to maintain their caches rather than letting them fester with nothing to find until someone leaves a throwdown. It also sounds like because there are so few geocachers in such a large country, that many cache owners have placed vacation caches that they are not able to maintain as quickly as you would like. Perhaps cooperating with other caches and, with their permission, doing some of the maintenance for them is necessary in a country like Brazil. So you're assuming that all brazilians have this kind of attitude because of a foreign that is here less that a year? The people that usually act in this way here in Brazil are often foreigners - they leave throwdowns, they post photos, they make armchair geocaching! There are many brazilian cachers that work together, one helping the others! I recently logged a cache of a foreign owner here at Manaus, and noticed that there was an armchair log comparing to the phisical logbook. I adviced a moderator, that contacted the owner, and the log was deleted. As I do, other brazilian cachers do too. They'll not be yawning, moaning or crying like babies, but will do their best. Geocaching is a hobby for us, to have fun, not a full time job! To the cache cops on duty, a hint: make an application at geocaching.com!

Grande desafio... Eu, pelo menos um evento consegui organizar e já coloquei um cache esse ano! Vamos ver o que mais vai acontecer até dezembro!

Outra coisa interessante é que às vezes uma pessoa chama de "a" cache, outras vezes de "o" cache, hehehe [ ]

Caro amigo lusitano, vc vai perceber com o passar do tempo que aqui no Brasil nossa língua portuguesa é "um pouco" diferente, inclusive de uma região para outra do país... "A" cache nos parece muito mais natural que "O"!
