  1. Thanks Lelle1987. I have added you to the register. Like the photo on your profile page too. Nice. Regards Andrew
  2. I suspect a lot of insects, lizards and the like might disgree with you. It is generally not considered appropriate to move rocks to create trailheads, trail markers etc and given the nature of geocaching unnecessary. Again I suggest you use your GPS to record the appropriate waypoint and use the facilities available here when creating a cache page. The tools are there and you might watn to read the cache placement guidelines. Cheers Andrew
  3. G'day The Register has been updated with the details of those folks who provided the requested information since my last posting in this thread. This is the last update for 2007 and I will not be updating it again until the end of January 2008. To be added to the register all you need to do is provide all the requested information as requested in the register. I am sorry but I no longer have the time or energy to chase up folks who don't provide all the necessary information. It shouldn't be hard to help me out a little a bit. I will also be following up with all folks on the register in the new year requesting the details to meet the current information requirements. This will provide an opportunity to clean up the register. The updated Geocaching Trackables World Release Register can be found by clicking the link. All the best for the holiday season. Regards Andrew
  4. G'day I have two comments in respect of same: (a) First up this is geocaching ... you can use your nounce and your GPS and maps to work out access points or alternatively you can provide when hiding a cache provide parking coordinates or start point coordinates so there is no reason to create a trailhead on the ground that I can see; ( Secondly I suspect that most land owners would get a bit upset if you started creating trailheads! It would also violate the Geocaching.com guidelines in respect to placing caches. We are not about doing physical damage to the environment. Regards Andrew
  5. I am missing something here I think, but are you talking creating trailheads on the ground? Andrew
  6. Thanks for your offer and for providing the requested information. You have been added to the register. Regards Andrew
  7. Thanks. You have been added to the register. Regards Andrew
  8. Thanks for your offer. You have been added to the register. Regards Andrew
  9. G'day Email the owner and offer solutions ... for example posting it back to them, posting it to somone on the World Wide Regiester for Trackables, holding on to it over spring, etc. Please don't just hold on to it without at least trying to contact them. Owners, well me anyway, have lost our mind reading skills :-) Regards Andrew
  10. G'day Thanks for your interest. You have been added to the register and will appear in the next update. Regards Andrew
  11. Thankyou for your interest and providing all the necessary information. Most helpful. I have added you to the register and you will appear in the next update. Regards Andrew
  12. That is what I thought too. Found out yesterday after a weekend away, that I had to change the date back for each log. I think this would be quite frustrating one had a lot of logs to do after a trip and it would be worse than it not picking up my system date I think. Regards Andrew
  13. Okay time for the dumb question, i.e., to address my ignorance. Can someone be kind enough to explain what Godwins law is please? Thanks Andrew
  14. It would be helpful to know the time frame. Are you talking days, weeks or months since the bugs where dropped? I am asking this as they have been picked up by other travellers who haven't had a chance to log them out as yet (e.g., no Internet access). Have you checked with the cache owner to see if there is a log indicating removal of the bugs? Have you approached those who have visited the cache since you dropped them off to see if they have seen or removed the bugs but forget to log them out? I have found the later to be not uncomon or I find the whilst a cache has lots of visitors a lot of folks don't take bugs so the bug/coin remains in the cache. Hopefully your bugs have not gone missing, but are just waiting logging out. Regards Andrew
  15. Thanks Montyfox for helping me out by providing all the required information. I have added you to the register and you will appear in the next update. Regards Andrew
  16. Thanks 5c for helping me out by providing the required info. I have added you to the register and you will appear in the next update. Regards Andrew
  17. G'day I assume you are referring to a Google advert? If so then these are driven by Google not Groundspeak and hence maybe your concerns are better taken up with Google. Regards Andrew

    Parking

Well I can't talk for others but personally I am quite (read "TOO") concerned about my carbon footprint but I also do drive to some of my caches and some of them I ride my bike to and some of them I walk to. Just as I ride my bike as much as possible to work, shopping and to my partners. For example I don't see myself using my car at all in the next two weeks and haven't used it the last week at all. I did use it a weekend ago on a bushwalking/caching weekend, but we at least car pooled! Oh, I also have low energy lights in my unit, I turn off lights when I am not in the room just as I turn off at the wall my TV etc and oh my electricity is green electricity (wind generated). So what I am saying is I think your conclusion about others was neither fair or valid. I do make a reasonable efforts to reduce my carbon footprint and I am concerned about same. However, I don't stop caching but I do try to do it in a manner where I consider my carbon footprint. Regards Andrew

    Parking

I agree with this statement and the point later on about your own driveway. Also there are other options beside cars to get to cachers. Those options include public transport, walking, riding a bike, teaming up with others or traveling only some of the way and then riding/walking/whatever. So I am also against the idea of mandatory parking coordinates as I don't think they are needed nor will they achive what you are seeking in my view. Regards Andrew
  20. Thanks NickZe. I have added you to the register and you will appear in the next update which is happening as I type. Regards Andrew
  21. G'day The New Zealand Recretional GPS Society (read geocachers) can be found at http://www.gps.org.nz/ Suggest you check out the forums there. Regards Andrew
  22. Sorry about that. Completely missed your request. As per the World Register page, can you please provide the following information: "include in your posting your city, state and country." Once you provide that information I can update the register. Thanks Andrew
