  1. I was looking around to find a shelter of some kind (as light as possible ) when I found this hammock/fly combo, "Hennessy Hammock Expedition A-Sym Hammock" on REI.com. REI.com's description said it could be used as a tent on the ground, combined with your hiking sticks. Does that work? Depending where you go in my area, there aren't always trees... advice?
  2. I'm the kind what would eat eggplant if I had eggplant.
  3. Ok: 1)Click on your name. This should take you to your profile at geocaching.com. 2)Near the top there will be a link that says 'Edit your profile'. Click on it. 3)In the box that says My Profile, click the 'change' link. 4)In the box that says Profile Details, There will be another box that says Forum Signature. Type your chosen signature into this box. 5)Scroll down to the bottom of the page, where the button that says Save Changes is, and click it. One more thing, when you are posting, down where it says Post Options, make sure that the little box saying Enable signature? is checked. Hope this helps!
  4. That would put me in three categories! LOL 1) Creative cache lovers 2) Discovering cool new spot lovers 3) Hiking/higher terrain cache lovers And maybe there are Cache Improvers?
  5. I was wondering who does what when it comes to caching, because there seems to be a lot of controversy about procedures. What is power caching, what's casual, what other ways of caching are there? And please no insulting!!!
  6. Could it be the premium features slowing you down? I'm just a basic member, and I havn't had any problems with the site. My computer is a lot slower than the site.
  7. I don't know how that's happening to you, but it's working fine for me. My computer is kind of slow, but geocaching.com is one of the sites that loads fastest, and it has never done any thing weird like that.
  8. Kids love geocaching! I'm 13 and I am a member of a 4-H GPS club and go caching at least every month. Me and my little sisters have been geocaching with our dad since I was 10. The biggest frustration is that the adult is the one holding the GPS most of the time. Geocaching is a great thing to do with kids, and micros give you the same thrill of the hunt as others when they're done right.
  9. I think a mix of useful and non useful items is the most fun for everyone. I like to find things that are sort of both ways, like fun key chains and colorful bandannas.
  10. I think most of us are in our 20s, 30s and 40s, but I'm 12, and my sister is 10. We love love geocaching, and our dad (DJsquest) taught a class for elementary school kids too. Some of them really got into it. So it seems like it's a sport for all ages.
