  1. Well now I have had it three days...and the navacomputer is doing a good job. There was a watermain break and all I did was make a U and it was making me a new route that was actual quite good. I'm very impressed.
  2. Does it matter? In this SPORT we are cowpeating with ourselves. To find the cache is the reward (and yes I do like the stuff) but realy...what does one get out of logging a cache not actualy found? The numbers mean ... nothing. So OK get the ben of doubt. It's not a big deal ... chill man.
  3. OK but after reading all this I don't think I saw an answer to the real question! If the PM didn't FIND the cache (the NPM did)... while the PM has the TB ... did (s)he realy "find it"? After all the PM didn't realy find the cache did (s)he! So how could the PM log finding the TB w/o logging finding the cache?
  4. Why would anyone do this? Do the points actualy matter? I can understand not logging DNF in some cases because they want to give it another go under different conditions OK. But to log finds that didn't happen is like cheating and it's not like you get anything for the most finds (is it) ... when in this case we do get stuff when we find the cache (unless it is a micro one).
  5. Well I've only had my 60CSX for a few (well two) days ... I have received as many as 6 SV's inside three different buildings with large windows and / or open doors. I expect this was via multipath (bounced) signals. I the two (out of two) caches I have found I got with in a few feet of the cache. The unit had me walking in circles - was pointing right at the unit. I would find a store in your area to try both units. See how they feel in your hand and what the interface is like. I made my brand selection based on geopolitical considerations. I would say that the autorouting on the Gramin is kewl. (You have to purchase extramaps for it to do that). There was a watermain breake that closed road today ... I just turned around and it started routing me a different way ... one I had not thought of.
  6. Maybe having a GPS in your hand is kinda like a signal? If muggles are about just tell them your scanning for tribble with your tricorder. ]:8)
  7. This song ... http://www.acme.com/jef/singing_science/long_lat-32.MP3 Pointed to by this webpage http://www.geocaching.com/about/glossary.asp is WRONG (in general usage anyway) They say that LONGATUDE is the number of degrees from Greenwich England Isn’t longitude the time from Greenwich (or to depending on E or W)? Well I assume on some system you could use degrees but that's not the "norm". BTY 1hr=15deg so I guess it's OK but confusing to the tadpole.
  8. Keep one of the stones for yourself and cache the otherone. I understand they are quite nice. Whatever ... let your Dr KNOW you want um! And a painfree speedy recovory
  9. Well ... I have only had my GPSMAP 60csx (did I get that right) for less than a day ... and well ... I think it's Good. I got it with a suction cup mount and the city navagator 8 SW. The driving directions are easy to use and not hard to follow ... sometimes you may need to backlight on in shadow however. I have most of south west california on the included 64MB card! GO for it ... it's better to purchase what you want now then spend of somthing less then spend again for what you realy want. Where are the tide information (did I overwrite that?)
  10. My GPS is in the air as we speak on the way here. It's due to arrive by 10:30 this AM. I was planning to go cacheing this afternoon. OK what would be good? I was thinking of getting plastic dinos and plastic cows. Depending on the size of the cache I'd leave ones that would fit. Hmm maybe I'll have to look for different stuff. What would YOU think if you found some plasic dinos or cattle (The dinos because I can get them today ... the cattle are special order items) and may take longer to get here.
  11. Yah but put it somplace so remote the only way to get there is to walk and (unless you have a big copter). The only way to get the stuff out it to pack it out and the things are to big to do that. That would be funny.
