Where do I get a list of Benchmarks and their locations?

[Adopting an abandon cache]

I found a cache today that has the statement "Unable to locate the cache owner. If you would like to adopt this cache, please contact the web site." on its webpage. What makes a cache considered abandoned if people are still finding it? Also, how do you adopt an abandoned cache?
