Ainakin foorumille pitäis saada uusi Suomi logo...

I had tried to use Nokia 770 and cachemate earlier with this GARNET VM (PALM OS) beta 1 version. It didn't work very well because it didn't support mathlib. So Cachemate lacked all the great search functions it has. Well today everything changed for the best. Access provided free version of GARNET VM BETA 2 and it has mathlib support. Now it worked very nicely. Not only I could load thousands of caches. I could do all kinds of searches aswell. New full screen mode in Garnet VM BETA 2 is also a big improvement. Screen size is far more bigger in nokia 770 and other Nokia N800 and Nokia N810 than in any actual PALM device I know of. I will be starting to use cachemate like this again as we liked cachemate very much when we used Palm z22 until it broke down.

Kohtuuhintainen travelbugi kiertoon.

We use stats from gsak. I guess only way where you can get the stats of your own placed caches. In gsak you make these cool stats with some macros found at gsak website, some already installed. After you have run the macro, ready stats page opens to your webbrowser. From there right click the page and select show source code then select all lines in that page and copy it to your account page editor. Well thats how I do it with gsak. GSAK nag screen will become very annoying so it is better to pay some cash to get rid of it.

Atleast Geocaching google map is now showing gc codes. That is great change! Or when this came? Some problems opening that small map bigger. Dial ring comes like others. Never ending... I have no other problems with these new maps. I'd like too that somekind of scale line with distance in km's or miles would be nice.

Lisäksi on mahdollista waymarkata Liikkuvan veripalvelun kohteita, joissa veripalvelu vierailee säännöllisesti kerran kuussa. Riihimäki, Hyvinkää, Porvoo, Kotka, Järvenpää, Kouvola, Korso, Kerava, Tuusula, Itäkeskus, Tikkurila, Leppävaaran Sellosali, Rauma, Valkeakoski, Jämsä, Vammala, Nokia, Kankaanpää, Kemi, Loimaa, Salo ja Kajaani.

Ketä kiinnostaa voi käydä tukemassa hanketta tehdä verenluovutuspaikoista uusi gategoria Waymarking.comiin. Eli premiumjäsenet voivat niin halutessaan peer review:ssä joko hylätä tai hyväksyä tämän kategorian Laitoin tuollaisen hankkeen nyt pystyyn amerikkalaisista näkökulmista, kun siellä on aika iso osa Waymarking harrastajista. Lyhyesti uuden waymarkin voisi siis tehdä punaisen ristin veripalvelun keskuksista ja paikoista jossa verenluovutusta voi tehdä vähintään kerran kuukaudessa. Muissa paikoissa tehdyt verenluovutukset voi merkata lähimpään waymarkatuun keskukseen. Eli tuota blood donation centerin tekstiä voi katsella tältä sivulta. Muutenkin tuo categorian luominen on ollut kaikenkaikkiaan aika mielenkiintoinen kokemus kaikkine vaiheineen.

Tuolla geocaching.comissä on nykyään tuommoinen kätkötyyppi kuin wherigokätkö. Eipä näitä maailmalla ole kuin suunnilleen tämän verran. Ajattelin vain, että voisiko tältä Wherigo sivulta löytyvillä välineillä tehdä myös uudenlaisen multikätkön . Siis se joka osaa.

Tässä vähän uutta aiheeseen. Multeihin on nykyään mahdollista tehdä vaihtelua tekemällä/ antamalla välietapit Wherigo cartridgen muodossa. En tiedä vaan onko tuo pakko sitten merkitä Wherigo kätköksi. Ei tarvita purkkeja eikä sen lisäksi edes laskutaitoja. On päästävä vain tekijän haluamalle alueelle ja miten tuo on sitten määritty vastattava kysymyksiin tai arvoituksiin saa purkin tai seuraavan etapin sijainnin. Niin jos olen ymmärtänyt tuon Wherigo touhun ollenkaan. Puutteena taitaa olla vielä välinerajoitukset. Kaikki ei vielä kanna Coloradoa tai yhteen sopivaa pocket pc:tä. Tosin ei kaikki koskaan kaikkia kätköjä tule hakeneeksi muutenkaan.

Vähän kiinnostuksesta tutustuin tähän. Wherigo sivustolla on lisää. Sieltä lataat builderin, jonka avulla pitäisi pystyä tekemään tuommoisen Wherigo tehtävän eli cartridgen (pienen sovelluksen). Sitten sopiva pocket pc tai Coloradoon ladataan cartridge ja pelataan tehtävä läpi niin, että esim. wherigokätkössä saa esim. kätkön koordinaatit..Eli voisi olla vaikka laskumultin korvikkeena...Välttämättä ja tällähetkellä useimmiten pelissä ei ole kuitenkaan purkkia. Builderissa on emulaattori, jolla voi kokeilla näitä tuotoksia kotikoneessa. Tarkoitus kuitenkin olisi että maastossa nuo tehtävät suoritettaan riittävällä laitekokoonpanolla.

Kaivetaanpas tämä ketju taas esille. Mrs Small Oak tarttui haasteeseen, kun lopulta ei enää ollut liian kevyt eikä liian raskaana, vaan ihan sopiva luovuttaja. Mukava pötköttelytuokio srk-keskuksen salissa ja pullakahvit vielä päälle, kyllä kannatti! 100. kerran konjakkikahvit taitaa jäädä saavuttamatta, kun alku meni neljännelle vuosikymmenelle, mutta kun näin vaivattomasti voi olla avuksi jollekin todella sitä tarvitsevalle, niin tuleepa varmaan käytyä jatkossakin. Misterikin tulee heti, kun luovutuksesta saa vapaapäivän kuten kultaisina nuoruuden inttiaikoina...

Those Treos are not exactly what I meant. I meant Symbian based phones. Like latest gps enabled like n6110 navigator, N95 and N82. I think those could have potential to use this player application if just being supported.

Will Wherigo work someday on devices like s60 3rd phones with gps or with bt gps. Is there any plans about those. Many of them are like ppc:s?

Have you changed this new version when using download and sync from your PC ? I got still old version there. I just downloaded it and version was v. 2.0.1. I just verified that version 2.0.3 is currently on the m.getgn.com web site. You may want to try your download again and make sure that you tell it to overwrite the current application. Please let us know if your experience is different. Larry (Trimble Outdoors) hi. i cant use m.getgn.com site because site says my nokia is not supported. So I have used that 3rd option and got software downloaded in a zip file. after unzipping the files and installed software to phone (nokia 5500 sport s60 3rd phone) . It says v2.0.1 every time. So are files in m.getgn.com and in downloaded zip file using that 3rd given option at geocachenavigator.com site still different? Can you check that?

Alkaahan näitä kokemuksia olla. Omia kätköjä on tullut haettua, käyttömukavuus on kyllä omaaluokkaansa. Geocache.fi foorumissa on ollut jo jonkinaikaa keskusteltu asian tiimoilta. Kiinteä datapaketti alk. n. 9,90€/kk on tämän kanssa hyödyllinen niinkuin J.McInen tuolla geocache.fi foorumissa mainitsee. Ei tule yllätyskuluja. Toivoisin kuitenkin että jossain vaiheessa voisi käyttää gpx tiedostoja varsinkin paikoissa jossa ei dataliikenne toimi/ ulkomailla missä datasiirrot on kalliita. Onneksi kartat on yleensä pois päältä. Ei muutakuin kirjoitteleen www.geocachenavigator.comin foorumiin toiveita. Itse kaipaisin vielä jotenkin näiden lisäpisteiden (additional waypoints) käsittelyä. Multeissa olisi hyödyllistä jos pystyis hakemaan multien etapit suoraan. Nyt täytyy käsin syöttää. Ladattavassa versiossa hakusäteen muuttaminen bugittaa. Korjatun version pitäisi olla kyllä täällä käytävän keskustelun mukaan jo nyt ladattavissa. Vaan eipä ollut.

On the "Search Filters" screen scroll down to "How Far Away", press the select button (the key in the middle of the directional arrows). When you do this it will bring you to a screen that allows you to change the distance. When done, click OK. You may also notice something interesting. Under "Settings" there is a new option, "Find Filtering." If you select this option you can have the cache listings either show or hide caches that you have already found. For all of you that have requested this option, it is now in the free version but will be ported back into the other code bases and released. As you may recall I have said that getting things onto the carrier deck takes time. When this occurs I will post accordingly. Larry (Trimble Outdoors) Thank you for fast reply. Nothing happens when I press Ok button. It is somehow locked. Only back button worked and 3.5 km stays whatever other numbers I tried. That was my problem and I know I wasn't the only one having this problem. I have Nokia 5500 sport and other had n95. Well this is totally new software to me so everything is new. But I liked this feature that hides caches you owned or have already found. It is great that now many europeans have now possibility to use this kind of software. Is there going to be something that shows all additional waypoints..like multicaches?

Thank you Trimble and Groundspeak for this Geocache navigator for Nokia s60 3rd phones! I haven't really tried it in real action but what I have tested and played with it with my Nokia 5500 and BT GPS, this looks great and easy enough to use. I have encounter so far only one problem. I couldn't change the How far away setting. It just stays on 3.5 km or 2.17 mile.
