Nice it found my hometown. Still I liked it better when it showed some random locations around the world. Maybe because I have already found or done these caches myself, so this is not very useful:) Maybe if it would show my 5 nearest unfound caches that would be nice...

Has anyone any hints of how to attach this metallic utilityplate cache sold in many geocaching stores? Two magnets that are included are so flat that they don´t seem to reach the surface where the plate should be attached. Should we use thicker magnets or some other tools?

Et suinkaan ole tehnyt väärin, päinvastoin! Tarkoitus ei olekaan, että kätköpurkkiin jätetään kaikki joutava romu ja pikkusälä omien kaappien nurkista pyörimästä, vaan sellaista - uutta tai asiallisen kuntoista - vaihtotavaraa, josta arvelee olevan toisille iloa / hyötyä. Itse olen ihan surutta poistanut purkista esim. _homeisen_ toimimattoman rannekellon, josta tietysti olisi saanut ihan toimivan vaihtamalla rannekkeen, takakannen, koneiston, näytön, viisarit ja lasin... ja ruuvit. Se, mikä on jollekin toiselle tarpeetonta, voi olla toiselle kätköilijälle, esim. lapsille mukava ja iloinen yllätys, ehkä myös innoste lähteä "käkköilemään", joten kyllä niitä "kinder-härpäkkeitäkin" voi kohtuudella purkkeihin jättää. Tavaran arvo ei mielestäni ole tärkeintä, vaan sopivuus tähän harrastukseen, esim. jossain tämän ketjun viestissä mainittu ehkäisyväline (kondomi?) lienee jokaisen hankittavissa myös muuta kautta... samoin pornovideot, jota jossain toisessa ketjussa joku mainitsi kätköltä löytäneensä. (Tosin kuulostaa enemmän satunnaisten jästien aikaansaannoksilta?) Eli perhekätköilijät voivat toivottavasti huoletta jättää kätköihin "lapsellisia" tavaroita, varttuneemmat enemmän omia intressejään vastaavia vaihtareita ja päinvastoin. Tavaroiden vaihto on kuitenkin lajin , ei itse"suola", ei itsetarkoitus, jokainen voi halutessaan kätköillä myös suolattomasti. mrs. small oaks

I think I can understand what is the problem as I have had similar experiences. When I want to change image of the TB page there is an option to choose Bug image from the list or download a new one. When you select new picture from the list ( Bug image gallery) to be a new Bug Image it doesn't work. After you submit your changes it just goes in page where it says " You requested has resulted in an error. You may choose to retry your previous request. that you can tell w.." That is what is wrong... That would be easy way to change a picture..Unfortunately it doesn't work.

Aika hankala ihan täydellistä ohjetta on tehdä, mut yritetään. Saa tätä korjata ken haluaa. 1.Tarvitaan macroista Findstatgen3.gsk ja FindStatGenmapFinland.map. Jotka tallennetaan c:gsak/macros kansioon 2.Gsakiin ladataan tuo myfinds.gpx tiedosto jos haluaa saada omista tehdyistä kätköistä tilastoja (placed) voi olla tarpeen käyttää addlogs.gsk macroa, jotta saa kaikki löytöloggaukset omista kätköistä kantaan. omat kätköt.gpx sisältää vaan 5 vikaa logia. Yksittäin ladattuna saa 20 viimeistä logia, joten jos on useampia satoja niin tuo pikku ongelma ja aikaa vievä työ. ADDLOGS kuitenkin toimii, muttei sitä kannata käyttää kuin tuossa alkuvaiheen kannan rakentamisessa sillä se on aika rasittava toiminto tuolle geocaching.com sivustolle. 3. iso homma on alkuun räätälöidä jokainen löydetty kätkö oikeaan maakuntaan. Kun sitä tietoa ei vielä automaattisesti tule mistään. Erillaisilla Gsakin filttereillä esim etäisyyden mukaan saa valittua vaikka kaikki omatlöydöt espoosta 15 km säteellä, sitten filtterinä on vielä state=nil ja country = finland... kun on esim. tämmöisen ryppään saanut haettua voi kaikkiin muuttaa maakunnaksi UM käyttämällä global replace toimintoa[löytyy database valikon alta], aukeavassa ikkunassa nil kenttään vaan muutetaan tuo UM. Jne. kaikkiin omiin löytöihin suomessa...Jos on käynyt jossain muussa maassa, niin näitä karttoja löytyy myös niistä. 4.kun kaikki on kannan puolesta ok ajetaan tuo Findstatsgen3.gsk macro. asetuksista jos haluaa suomen kartan näkyviin pitää valita mukaan Other maps ja listalta Finland (tuo dat tiedosto pitää olla). Jos haluaa tilastoa omista niin valitaan myös Placed näissä asetuksissa mukaan. 5. Makron ajon jälkeen avautuu tulos selaimeen jtuloksen voi liittää vain Liitä toimintoa käyttämällä omaan geocaching.com profiiliin. jos haluaa tilaston näkyvän oikein niin kannattaa tarkistaa että macron asetuksissa on remote valittuna muuten ei käppyrät näy. 6. Päivitys...Niin jos suoraan vaan menee ja avaa uuden myfinds.gpx tiedoston niin nuo vaivalla päivitetyt state kentät palautuu nil arvoiksi. Joten Päivitys kannattaa tehdä itsetehdyllä macrolla, jossa lukee suunnilleen seuraavaa...Load Settings="myfinds" Lock=$d_State . eli tee avausta varten myfinds niminen tallennustila jossa määritetäänn mistä kansiosta tuo omat löydöt.gpx aina luetaan. Tuo tallennustilan tekeminen onnistuu siinä samassa ikkunassa missä muutenkin tuo gpx tiedoston avaaminen tehdään. Ikkunan alareunassa on tallennusnappi..Tuo lock lukitsee tuon state kentän. Macron voi tallentaa millä nimellä vaan. myfinds.gsk on aika hyvä. Tässä tätä ohjetta, aika simppeliä tuo sitten kun pääsee vauhtiin ja tuohon päivitysvaiheeseen. Alkuhommat ovat hiukan tuskaisia mutta on minusta ihan vaivan arvoinen. Ensihän voi kokeille ilman karttaa..sitten lisätä vaikka vaan yhden maakunnan tietoja ja ja kokeilla syntyykö tolla macrolla mitään...Vaan eiköhän sillä synny..Muuten tuo gsakin lisenssi kannattaa hankkia, tulee muuten aika tuskainen päivitys rumba.

Hi. I'm quite happy with the present map. It is very good. I haven't encountered any problems. Thick borders don't bother me. It could good be good upgrade for final version, as I don't yet know where to find map with thinner borders.

I tried my 770 tablet with mozilla browser to log cache .... Well it was impossible as there wasn't any space where to write a log...space is dissappeared. fortunately wap page did this just fine. Just noticed that we are the owners of geocache emails don't have scandi's öäå etc. Miss the scandinavian letters. Please bring them back. These are my problems,with the new site so far. .

First column of abbreviations are currently found in FindStatGenMapFinland.dat file second is the maakunta and third is new suggestion..if any. Correct if something is wrong. Map suggestion was great. I prefer first choise also. If numbers in south are anyways below the map would it be nice to have a bit bigger uusimaa and Itä-uusimaa a bit smaller like they really are. So move that Uusimaas eastern border a bit more to east. Mrs: I prefer UM for uusimaa

Usb kaapelikin tuohon etrexiin löytyy esim. täältä. Meillä on vastaava kaapeli garmin geko 201:n kanssa ja hyvin toimii. Easygpx ja premium jäsenien mahdollisuus ladata gpx tiedostoja nopeuttaa siirtoa aikatavalla.

I have to say that numbers out of the area look better with IE. Normally I use Opera in laptop and In Opera 9.5 numbes were bit of like I posted earlier. Shambbu's idea is good.

Thanks for the hint. I'm not used to make macros so is there a macro already for uploading gpx files where I can just add this line I'm trying to import my finds gpx?

This was fast. Thank you again! Now the color bug seems to be gone. See our profile. Something could be done with the number placements as some regions have numbers inside the region and some have numbers outside the region with the region addreviation.

I have now made state attribute to all of our finds. Profile page look like this... Only Itä-uusimaa is left without color. Numbers are not 100 % right. Filtering made it much faster to set these states and then used that global replace function. I'd better learn how to backup these before next my finds gpx file. Does it make difference if you leave - out and write ItäUusimaa and KeskiUusimaa..It is not right way to write them but I think this is not so dead serious matter.. Waiting for a next update. I'm not really that much into Wherigo, just because it is nowadays so specific device oriented...Still I made Wherigo geocache. I think builder has made "programming" of new kind of caches quite user friendly to even non-programmer to do. Even I made it very simple one in real programmers point of view, it was for me a accomplishment, couldn't have done it in other way . That just is one good thing about it. I just hope that emulator is there for an option in future generation Wherigo softwares also. I have just noticed that there are quite a lot different new gpsgame sites just started even in May this year. It is good to Groundspeak to be part of this next generation gps gaming. For example I have just collected my first gold in one gpsgame. This site had an beta version of Symbian s60 3rd application that worked very well in my mobile phone. I certainly would like to see for example this kind of player application in Wherigo in near future. Symbian is very popular in Europe and quite many geocachers here aswell. I just hope it doens't take too long to make this...If these virtual gps games are becoming more popular people will try and even start their new hobby the sites that has these functions that work on their devices. Geocaching and gpsgaming is still fun in whatever way you are doing it.

Atleast sometime ago when I started to make descriptions without html just copying the webadress you wanted in a text made it clickable (visit link), but that is I think all you can get. So if you have web link to point write somethin about it and then copy the web adress and it should become clickable (visit link)...I don't know if this feature have removed or not. I have got some broken html today... so that could be the reason aswell.

Any chance of getting about one year old mystery cache Tomb Cacher (GCYGXD) changed in to Wherigo cache? I Had to change this mystery after another website vital for solving was gone. Best thing I came across with was to make a cartridge from the puzzle . Cartridge is called Tomb Cacher II. Idea of this mystery is still the same as it was before cartridge. Too bad there is about ten of finds in this mystery. Only change to earlier is that the cartride is now vital for solving this puzzle. It can't be solved without it. This cartridge is emulator friendly so it is for also those that don't have proper devices available to play Wherigo in live. (I don´t have one either) Ofcourse you can do that in live also i suppose, but this would still need some work at home.. Or do I just archive this cache and make a new one (copied) descriptions and all.

Itä-uusimaa seems to be quite large compared to what it really is but if this is just test map its ok for testing. for better visibility. I agree with Kuki. How could these finnish caches have their state value? Should we try to get this information in geocaching.com or what information is needed to have these automaticly. That would be quite a work to be filled manually

Hi! I have noticed these in latest GSAK and being somewhat jealous that Finland doesn't have these yet. These lääni's are quite ok, but I would rather see Maakunnat in this map. Please If you could visit this link to see what it has to offer. Since we nowadays have only 6 provinces, the map would very soon be full, or at least half-full with just a couple of visits in some cities. If we could use these maakunnat instead, the map wouldn´t get full so soon, and it would tell more precisely, where one has visited / found caches. How about other Finnish fellow-cachers, who happen to read this, what do you think, läänit vs. maakunnat?
